i kinda liked the GBA Potter game's music, it is not anything too special, but it is not a reason to avoid these games. but in topic of great music on GBA, i have to say that the entire 6 game long saga of Mega Man Battle network games and it's side adventures were great. and i have to say that same is true to the NDS Mega Man Star Force trilogy. those games truly have some great soundtracks, especially those 5 Battle network games since GBA was not known for the best music and they pulled great tunes for 6 games for it.

Kinda hilarious since the new watchmen ended up sucking 100000% more than the original. Also, adapting the source material faithfull is important. Nothing is unfilmable, or unadaptable. Nothing needs hollyweirdos rewriting the works of actually talented writers. I'm a huge Villeneuve fan. Dune 2 sucks donkey D because of all the changes. But yes, the "watchmen" were never supposed to be heroes nor should they ever have been given super strength.

The term"based on" leaves room for interpretation. I have never read a watchman comic (had heard of it)& found the movie was okay. I didn't fully understand all of it, but enjoyed it, nevertheless. Basically your JLA rip-off.

It didn't fail if people liked it. It is kinda like an advertisement. People who read watchment - dislike People who didn't know it exists - likes it See the point? It didn't fail as an adaptation, because it's a good movie and it adapted the main core of the story. People like to throw the "point of the source material card", but the truth is, we can argue if the movie did or didn't all we want, but at the end of the day, it's still a good movie. What superhero movie can compare even?

Very educational on a topic I've been verrrrrrry sloooooowlllly familiarising with since a couple of friends were locked onto the original issues as they came out. Having been a comics freak as a kid to an extreme extent, I was very 'Yeah...that looks great' as I felt that handling comics was a gateway drug back to seventeen jobs for buying the entire Marvel monthly output regardless of whether I liked the comics (told you I was extreme as an 8 year old). So I always had Watchmen 'at a distance' as it became not a 'comicbook' but a 'graphic novel' and once it had the Pulitzer adults could buy it without being sanctioned. (Difficult to imagine this ancient era now but it really would, at that time, be 'not safe for work' to reveal an interest in comic books!) So even after a girlfriend had nicknamed me 'Doctor Manhattan' (because of my habit of disappearing for months on filmmaking projects) and other friends went 'Haha yeah' indicating they got her joke, I had ZERO knowledge of what they were on about despite this graphic novel being in everybody's apartment by then. It all changed when I found out it was going to be shown in IMAX in London, as I had been looking for my IMAX debut item. As it turned out, I even got a free press ticket on the night and I thought it was the greatest screen experience I'd ever had (I think it's still number one as I write). I've seen it since on all formats including TV with adverts and I have read the graphic novel, the deluxe one, the ultra edition or whatever it's called...every available item. I still had never noticed your key point. That is, I never noticed superpowers in the movie. This somewhat explains the mystery of Alan Moore's extreme hostility (although there's also the wider issue of his prior disputes with DC on artist rights which gets lost in press about him). It can't have been as blink and miss it to him since it wasn't for you. It's only me then who STILL doesn't see that this makes much difference to the experience of the movie in relation to the book. I blinked, missed the superpowers but still came away from the movie (which I saw twice before I actually read the book) with a perception of it as an anti-superhero polemic. I really dig your pointing all of this out though as it really does solve the Alan Moore mystery for me finally.

@YouOpaOpa4 ай бұрын
I don't know.... I think you hyperfixated in the wrong thing. I don't think their "super strength" is very different to whenever Sylvester Stallone or Vin Diesel are portrayed as being able to do feats of strength on films, or whenever James Bond or Tom Cruise do some incredible stunt. No one thinks of these characters as "having super powers". And, frankly, I didn't think that when watching the Watchmen (hah!). I agree with everything else you said though. Snyder's obsession with glorifying violence doesn't do any good for the movie and story.

6 years later, we've hit 100,000 views! Thanks, everyone 😁 Since I'm here, I might as well give a little epilogue: I always wanted to make a follow-up essay on the Watchmen TV show after it finished airing, but 2020 happened and I stopped making videos for a while (I now make videos about Phoenix Wright). So to close this lid, I'll say this much: Watchmen HBO is my favorite TV show. It absolutely understands the material it's adapting in so many ways the film never did. Most importantly, it's _not_ an adaptation of the graphic novel, but instead a _sequel_ to it. Watchmen HBO is faithful to the book in that, just as the book did in 1986, the show responds to the world in which it was created - late-2010s America, in this case. So many people complain about the show's social politics, and for what it's worth, those people are stupid. They're the type of person who will find a video titled "WATCHMEN Doesn't Get 'Watchmen'" and use it as a means to leave some idiotic comment about a TV show, even if the video was made long before that TV show even came out. Watchmen HBO is a masterpiece and one of the best pieces of superhero media made during the golden age of superhero stuff we're slowly exiting. But please, feel free to whine about wokeness or w/e in the comments of this video - engagement is always good 👍 Thanks again for 100K!

And, as a result of the things you discussed, the casting is [mostly] wrong. Most of the actors and are too young, and the makeup / prosthetics to make them look older looks hokey. We're told Nite Owl is some dweeby loser, but he's jacked. Malin Akerman is woefully miscast. Ozymandias doesn't look like he should be able to beat up much of anyone, but he still kicks people across the room.

this is a great AVGN movie, if you loved AVGN you will love this movie, the sad reality is though I found going back and revisiting his videos, he's not funny. he was early 2000s funny aka loud swearing = funny "funny" same thing as robot chicken, he is totally a product of his time. Also can you stop pretending to have an IQ in the teens and admit gaming isn't a conventual attractive woman's hobby? seriously stop being purposely obtuse, that would be like me acting like Hip Hop/Rap is a gay Asain's hobby. just stop.

This is such a fantastic video. It reminds me so much of the classic GameTrailers retrospectives, not just stylistically, but how you couch the game in the historical context of the medium as a whole and the specific genre it occupies. And just like those retrospectives, I immediately feel like I NEED to play this game as soon as possible, because I am missing an incredibly important part of video game history if I don't. Bravo :)
