I mean this with all sincerity, while I understand this took a lot to come out and do. I am still a bit apprehensive. I do not hear Jesus in your story. I hear a bunch of I’s and we’s, they and this. I have been through a lot, but at every turn Jesus was there bringing revelation and writing His ways upon my heart. Speaking to and bringing correction to the lies and wrong paths that I took. And it always brought me freedom. While it is not my desire to discourage you, it still feels like you are very much in control instead of surrendering and being led by the Holy Spirit (Psalms 46:10).

It's fruit of the emergent church of the early 2000s. It was a movement marked by evangelicals becoming progressive, leftist, cussing, drinking bourbon, smoking pipes and cigars, tats, etc

Pastor Lentz if you’re reading this. Continue to know JESUS CHRIST forgives and you can move on. You are covered in HIS grace. I can see your heart and how much this has impacted. I’m so sorry this world can be so cruel. Who are we to throw such stones? every Christian should be growing and it may look different for all of us how we grow. Yours is more public because the world knows you as Hillsong Pastor. May GOD continue to use you.

Man, as someone who has been through everything you talk about it's so beautiful listening to the whole story. God does redeem and He does restore. Thank you so much for being vulnerable and sharing your story. We need this so much today. I prayed hard for my husband to go through "the work" as well but he just wasn't willing to really do it. I was willing to forgive and do whatever it took but it didn't happen for me as it doesn't for a lot of marriages. I hope and pray this will help marriages survive. Bless you both and your beautiful new journey!

So freakin excited about the return of Carl Lentz. Bruv people must be f’n saints out in these streets, the level of judgement pple displayed is out of this world! His serments saved me. When he came to Stockholm I was goin through it man! He shared somethin about a friend of his who had passed away, I was goin through a breakup bcoz of domestic violence. The serment in its self had nothing to do with what I was goin though really, still he touched my heart with the world of God. I am now baptized, signed up for a local bible school got to know God in a whole different way! He changed the way I saw Christianity and if it wasn’t for him and Hillsong I never would have become a true believer. Even tho’ I used to like Hillsong I was never a fan of the Houstons, well Bobby and Brian I don’t mean their kids. Carl was something else tho’ and his misstakes were bad for his home life and personal relationship with Jesus probably at that time but for me it showed me that he is human and he f’ up just like me and so many pple outchea! I pray that God bless you guys a million times over!

I'm curious if Carl feels that the mega church structure makes accountability and real love impossible? Why not have many smaller units that attend to peoples real needs than churches that only "inspire" from the pulpit?

Mistakes like getting a math problem wrong by not carrying over the one? That would be an accidental mishap. Or is it a conscious decision? There is a difference.

Let's be honest, if it weren't for Laura 's decision not to quit, we wouldn't have witnessed this today. She had the right to leave and get a divorce, but she didn't. For me, she is the hero in this whole crazy story. She was there for him for better and for worse.

Carl, I'm pretty hard on you. I'm sorry I didn't address your SA or the damage that you naturally siffered from that. That was insensitive of me. That really messes people up. But you are a grown up now with a responsibility to take of yourself that way or address your inner child's needs before they cause chaos for your actual children. That is awful that you went through such horrifying pain as such a young little boy and felt the need to keep that secret. You required protection you should have gotten and supoort that didn't materialize. That is beyind sad, it's heartbreaking. And now this issue happened over you protecting secrets of similar shame. But in Heaven you'll have no shame. Nothing to be ashamed of. No secrets from Heaven. You'll be made new, whole again. Hurt peoppe hurt people and I get that you are not using it as an excuse but including it to learn from about yourself so you can hold this change. I pray God changes you through this for the benefit of your family. Adults didn't take the care they should have of you back then. I'm so sorry that happened to you. That your family may have been duped by a tricky person who victimized you like that. Not fair. But that doesn't give you the right to victimize others by tricking them either. Even if your tricks were different or aimed at grown ups rather than children. I dunno... The more words I hear how you habe healed from all that now and changed, the more I get the sense that you are truing to convince us... or yourself. How many times did your wife hear words before the story broke publicly? Are words like a hamster wheel of horse poopy? A way to keep it moving giving the illusion of forward momentum as centrifocal force pushes gob after gob out of the wheel? You feel like you in a washing a machine of words? Trying to clean and clear your debt to your wife or society? Didn't Jesus take the death and hell we earn? Do you feel forgiven? I'm hard on you because my best teachers have been on me because life was on them. Iron sharpens iron.

The damage to the church the people's hearts and their faith was and is astronomical. Also the ripple effect across many churches that was caused by carl Lenz his part alone still is part of today's mistrust in leaders pastors and confirmed church hurt at its highest level in pastoral leadership. The DAMAGE is done. Both Carl and his wife just need to get off social media and any kind of platform that may remind people of the hurt and damage that you caused. There's nothing that you can possibly say to people that can or ever will justify the DAMAGE and your part in it. We do not want to hear what you have to say day. What's done is done. We forgive you but please move on. There's no healthy reason to open up old wounds or add to the destructive fire that has been put out. Just peaceful go away and stay away. Leave people alone at peace and for some people who continue to heal. Please leave. There's zero reason for a part 2 or any other part. In fact just please take this video down. Move out of the public lives already and move on! Praying God's Best for your life!

@live4u0710 сағат бұрын
We all have the same living God inside of us. We might not have the resources to get that kind of help. But we know how to seek accountability on the level we are on, that’s the point.

I'm curious if Carl felt at all resentful to give up other relationships, including one he might have told he loves her? Has he forsaken all others, like the marriage vows say at this point? Was it easy to cast those aside in the face of losing everything?
@brightpage102011 сағат бұрын
What you might be protecting yourself from by covering things uo is the righteous, life-changing, life-saving wrath of Heaven. What a gift that could give us, to protect us from hell eternal.
@brightpage102011 сағат бұрын
When you lead a church, please remember to lead them to Heaven. Where else could you aim for them to go? The answer to that is chilling. Great to encourage one another to live a better life or be a better person on earth, but if worldliness is the goal and getting along better in this world is our aim, or being a better person, that is noble and fine, but then why try to align with Jesus at all? Why bring Him into it? There are plenty of techers who can show you how to be a better person, here. They all offer books and maintain ales funnels... I want those around me to feel the presence of Heaven when the are with me, and feel my sense of humility under that power. I pray I bring the peace of Jesus into any room I might crawl into if He lets me.

If you have no bitterness, you don’t spend time talking about all the people that left you. Even if you’re saying it in a friendly way, and then calm manner doesn’t mean you’re over it. I guarantee you this guy relapses, and the only reason that she stayed with him because she’s codependent.

This is hilarious so much bashing of the friends that left them. But he hast to understand that he lived years and years full of lies in a leadership position so how could they trust him after words? Really glad that they found recovery but the being confused about the people that left doesn’t make sense just take ownership and leave it as it is spend the session talking about yourselves not other people because you were the one that made the mistake
@RCGWho11 сағат бұрын
A lot of the people that left are parry friends he sinned with. They cut and run because they're scared that what happened to him, will happen to them.
