Yes, it is a groundbreaking conversation for “Christians” but not for the true sons of God that are set free from sin, walking in the truth and love and have Jesus Christ Himself living His life again through them. Paul would not be in need of a brain scan. The him who would need one had been crucified when Christ was crucified and now the literal Jesus Christ was living again through Him. Same for the rest of God’s real sons.

Great conversation! As someone who deals with trauma and has dealt with it. I spent YEARS trying to find answers to my issues in the church. The problem is that often times the church has a very narrow view of how people become sanctified. I had to go get supplemental help outside the church because the church is too clean to admit that its members need help and they themselves don’t have all the answers. We KNOW what can save people from their sins, the Bible is clear about that. JESUS SAVES! What sanctifies us and what matures us and what helps us deal with our traumas and stuff, we are not 100% clear on. So videos like this are VERY HELPFUL and encouraging!

That same Jesus that saves you from sin saves you from your traumas. If you don’t believe it enough to seek it out as a solution, then fine. But to say that He saves from literal sin and death but then is unable to save from a trauma doesn’t add up brother.
@danielburnett36695 ай бұрын
@@Daniel-do3rwYou are conflating two separate things. Justification and sanctification. God saves us from our sins in the ONE TIME, monergistic act of justification. This happens at the moment of salvation. Man does NOTHING to earn this. God does ALL OF THE WORK in justification. Sanctification is a synergistic, lifetime process in which man, in concert with God, works to conform to the image of Christ. Sin issues, Traumas, pain, ect are all dealt with in the sanctification process not at justification. That is something that human beings typically have to work alongside God to bring healing and restoration in. God can supernaturally heal people from trauma but that is not normative. This distinction is CRITICALLY IMPORTANT!! God is still bringing the healing, He is just using different means.

I think people just love to hate Carl at this point. People are literally listening to pass judgment and not actually listen to how what is being said can help another person. I’m afraid whatever he does and says there will be irrational scrutiny at times. Only God knows how genuine he is in his repentance and commitment to his faith and his family. I for one am learning a lot from his vulnerability and I wish him and his family all the best. God will judge his intent and his heart because He’s the only one who can see it.

If faith and relationships aren’t enough it help ( remember he said 4 circles, brain, relationships, spiritual, physiological ) don’t be ashamed to get some meds to help bro. A brain scan is a snapshot in time. Is that snapshot not a reflection of one’s thinking, beliefs, behaviors, etc? For the brain to change wouldn’t one have to change one of those things-essentially changing one’s psychology and behavior. Some people could get caught up that my brain is broken but all that may really mean is that their current psychology isn’t as optimal as it could be. If they change their way of being and thinking wouldn’t the brain also improve?

Before I repented of my lifestyle of drugs alcohol and after multiple women and an out of control sexual immorality I finally ask Jesus to live in my heart at the age of 30….I lived a 1 Cor 5:17 lifestyle 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here! My brain was never broken …I had a SIN problem and the Blood of Jesus was the answer. What I see over and over with especially so called preachers is how they allow their flesh to do what ever it wants just like I did prior to getting Born Again. They look and act just like I did before I got saved . I NEVER THOUGHT ONE TIME TO NOT SIN BUT ONLY SATISFY MY FLESH . I remember Dr Lester Sumrall said one time “Pride Money and women will be the ruin of many preachers in the last days” Remember Lots wife…….and the woman at the well..GO and Sin No More… Revelation 20:15 - And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Sadly one of them ignored the book and passed away from Cortical Basal Degeneration :( CBD. Maybe if she had listened 10 years ago and made changes for her brain she'd still be here? So I plan to watch this podcast with great interest. Although I am very much focused on survivor and advocates care and recovery, I DO also believe in restoration to true identity for perpetrators. Not a popular subject I know. I do NOT mean restoration to ministry for those who have committed clergy abuses, but restoration to healthy identity, relationships and ways of being. It could’ve served as an opportunity for Carl to strengthen his faith and fall hard on the same truths that he knew, but if you look closely it seems like he’s falling away. The “Christian” label is still there but it’s clear that Christ is nowhere near a solution to him. Interesting times we’re living in. I don’t know how anyone can take God out of this particular equation.
