Ganon’s biggest problem is definitely projectiles, so I think replacing jab and fair or nair with the backhand that he does during the projectile tennis would really, really help to alleviate that while also bringing in one of Ganon’s most iconic moves from his boss fights

Definitely a good option there. I've came up with a rough outline of what I'd want a full Ganondorf rework to look like in Smash, and that one never crossed my mind. To summarize my idea a bit: this man has never been hard to kill, he's hard to keep dead, so yeah, the float is a must, and I'd upgrade it to a longer version of Brawl Pit's Up B, but with the caveat that he's completely incapable of canceling out of it without grabbing ledge until the animation ends, and the full duration is *long,* so while you get good movement and godlike recovery, you are still predictable. In exchange, he becomes a good bit lighter, but quicker, both in movement speed and his strikes, and his strikes get swapped out for a mixture of Gerudoesque moves and magical explosions near his hands as he mimics striking. Lastly, for his other specials, we put in the Deadman's Volley for side B, complete with a paralysis effect on hit, a down b that uses his infinite practice with making barriers to make a small dark energy barrier surrounding him that ignores opposing strikes, and deals damage to them, if their hurt box overlaps during the strike, as well as destroying weak projectiles on impact, but not strong ones. Finally, Neutral B keeps the power he always radiates by trading out the Warlock Punch for a magic burst surrounding him that takes about the same windup, but swaps out for slamming into the ground with that same magical burst when used midair. Said magic burst also loses the superarmor Warlock Punch gets for greater utility and coverage. I'd put it on a different special, but neutral B is the move Kirby gets, so you kinda have to make sure it feels forceful.

I think the ideal would be using Twilight Princess Ganondorf to keep Smash Ganon intact while using OoT Ganon to represent his true mage potential, after all there’s three Links and two Zeldas, so two Ganons isn’t unreasonable, but alas I spend probably way too much time thinking about what I’d to change Smash, and Ganon and Sonic are definitely the two characters I think about the most

I wouldn't remove stuff from Ganon's base moveset, only add onto it. Dead Man's Volley could easily be a special; you can only have one orb out at a time and when it's out your special input becomes the backhand. I've mained this fat lard since Brawl and would be devasted if the moveset were completely removed.

Lucina gets lances upon promotion in her base class (as does Chrom), and her model also gets a shield. I don't really know why it would allude to her bride class/Heroes rendition rather than her promotion, but i agree with the change anyway.

While not a fully “new move” I’d love for bowser to be able to burn all his neutral B “fuel” as a big fire ball that scales in power based on how much “fuel” is used if the button is tapped, and hold for what he currently has

A much easier to develop alternative to drive form, would've been a reference to the Roxas fight reaction command. Gaining a second key which, just sort of adds extra hits to things, moving on its own. *_Significantly_* less work to animate a disembodied floating weapon. Anti-Form in particular is, a no-go.

My personal philosophy is that I don’t like it when Smash sticks to a single game’s take on a character and am happy to pull things in from everywhere lol. I get what you mean though, PKBeats had the same reasoning for not bringing in a Minish Cap move.

It'd be so cool to be able to "choose" which drive activated. If the meter is mostly filled by damage from melee attacks you get Brave form, elemental/magic gets you Wisdom. Maybe a countered smash attack or something activates Final form. Obviously would be super hard to program but cool nonetheless @@MockRockTalk

Animal friends would be a great way to represent the puzzle, environmental focus of the Dark Matter Saga! While I like the idea of choosing between Rick and Coo depending on if you’re grounded or in the air, leaving Kine to be just an Easter Egg feels weird to me, even if it makes some practical sense. I would personally have them cycle between the original three Dream Land 2 friends, sort of like Sora’s neutral B, and have them all use their Spark combinations (Rick’s Beam Whip, Kine’s lightbulb, and Coo’s lightning bolt) since that ability isn’t present in Kirby’s moveset. I hate leaving out the Dream Land 3 friends, but cycling between three moves is already pushing the limit on Kirby’s simple design. I considered having them use their Cleaning combinations since that ability debuted in Dream Land 3, but there’s not as much cohesion between the three, and I think the DL3 friends have more interesting combinations with Cleaning than the DL2 friends do.

My only thing with the Sora form stuff is since they based him off of KH1 (which didn’t have form changes/drive forms like KH2 and KH3), it might feel awkward on KH1 Sora. Still love the idea of “power at a cost” with anti/rage form, since you lose a disjoint and become very fragile

I would say giving mii brawler a tetsusanko instead of the generic shoulder check would be cooler. I have to say a tetsusanko that pops the opponent up and you can combo after is the coolest thing in my opinion.

I agree with a lot of what's said here, but since most of these comments I've made on these types of videos for months are regarding drastic design changes I’d make to characters, I just want to give my two-cents: - I'd personally want to give Kirby either the Cutter ability's boomerang, or the Beam ability for side special. - Make Iron Tail akin to the _Pokkén_ version, being an armored slam, and use Electroweb as their new grab. Gives them a larger grab range and a visually unique one too. - I already covered both a better neutral and up special on the main video so I'll say I would change both Jiggs' forward and back aerials to Echoed Voice, sending out a cone sound waves that quickly travels a set distance directly forwards or backwards before petering out. Would make a great spacing tool while not being as spammable or annoying as the Slingshots on Villager or Isabelle. Plus Jiggs needs more sound-based moves. - Just give Lucina the _Melee_ Shield Breaker. You could use the lance in a down special since she shouldn't have Counter, but she should also have Nidhogg too. - Make the float Ganon's up special and make it so you finish the move by doing the final hit of Dark Dive after disappearing into and reappearing from a dark portal. - Already suggested Pit use the Atlas Club on the main vid but this is good too. - Also already covered my thoughts on Olimar on the main vid. - Make the Hurricane Spin the fully charged version of Toon Link's Spin Attack and give him the Deku Leaf for an aerial up special. - I'd personally change Wii Fit's dash attack to them doing a slide on the Balance board to reference Core Luge. - Make Kakuto's dash attack him getting on the cow from _Wii Play's_ Charge! minigame. - Give Sora Strike Raid for a side special, move Sonic Blade to down special, and make his counter a fighter ability that activates during a dodge like all the counters in _Smash_ should be.

The one part of Sora that I thought was bizarre was that they used a sort of "pseudo command deck" style from BbS, Re:Coded, and DDD for his neutral special even though he's primarily based on KH1. What I would've done would be to give him an MP meter, though it would be the one from KH2 instead (where it can't refill until it's empty and then it enters a recharge period), and then make the down special open the magic menu from KH1 with every spell being available except Stopga since I think that one would just be too unbalanced and toxic. This could also free up the neutral special for Strike Raid. The spells would be rather potent as well since they're now tied to a resource and operate mostly like they do in KH1: Firaga would travel relatively quickly, slightly home in on a nearby target, and do decent damage but hardly any knockback, hit-stun, or shield damage and would cost the least MP. This would also be the only spell that can be fired continuously though like B&K's neutral special the power of each shot would decrease with each cast. Blizzaga would lose its multi-hit and freezing properties that it currently has, but the coverage would increase both vertically and horizontally, and would just deal one solid hit that would deal good damage and knockback with a sweet spot where the ice particles materialize adding some extra damage. Thundaga, instead of dropping directly on a target would drop directly on Sora providing AoE coverage and being the strongest offensive spell in terms of damage and knockback but coming with higher start up and end lag and costing the most MP of the 3. Though it would also deal decent shield pushback too. Curaga was one I considered leaving out since at face value it seems like it'd be kind of broken, but Hero has a heal spell too and it's balanced by only being usable twice per stock, not giving much health back per cast, and being random when it can actually be used. So for Sora's I decided that in addition to the canonical trait of it completely depleting your MP, it would require your MP meter to be completely full to use and it could only be used once per stock, though I'm upping the value healed to 25% compared to Hero's 11%. Also, this may be going a little bit to far but what the hell, Sora is the last DLC fighter so let's give him a little bit of cheese and also give him Leaf Bracer, so he becomes completely intangible when casting Curaga. Aeroga is another one that I think needs a little extra tuning, so what I've got is that it slightly reduces damage that Sora takes (but not knockback) and any opponent that touches it takes slight damage at set intervals too (but again, no knockback or hit stun), no other spells can be used while it's active, and that it's only usable once per MP recharge rather than once per stock like Curaga. Now for its time limit I was considering 11 seconds like Hero's Bounce but since it's a spell you can freely choose unlike the randomness behind Hero's spells let's down it to 8 seconds. And finally Graviga, I don't think would work in its canonical form so for this one I decided to make it a trap spell, in the same vein as Isabelle's down special. Sora creates a little well of energy on the ground in front of him and anyone who trips it is slowed down for about a second. We definitely don't need another Smash 4 Bayonetta Witch Time with 3 WHOLE SECONDS of slow down, so I think 1 second would be more fair. Also like Isabelle's, there can only be one Graviga out at a time and it will disappear after a short period. I know this whole system would take a lot of work to implement, but hot damn I feel like it would have been a lot of fun.

For Kirby, I've always wanted him to have an Up Special that feels more suited for it than the final move of a combo. Different from Vernias though, I'd give him Hi-Jump. It would allow him a lot of vertical distance while also being able to drift to the left or right quite a bit. This would also have Kirby's body be a somewhat weak hitbox.

I'm a very big KH fan and I definitely think Sora wasn't done perfectly, if I could change one thing though it would be adding in gravity break for his forward smash. It's the only one of the elements in KH1 that wasn't referenced in his kit (including the taunts) and it fits to the KH1 theme of Sora still

Just gonna through out which suggestion I like more for each comparison. Samus: Siding with Esam here. Just personal preference. The melee counter is cool, but Ice Beams feels more appropriate and I want to see more ice attacks that aren't mostly Ice Climbers. Kirby: You had the better suggestion here. I felt Vernias' Wing idea was way too complex for Kirby to be associated with and if I were to replace Final Cutter with something it would've been Hi Jump Pikachu: Once again going with Eric's suggestion. But only because giving Pikachu a fist move sounds like a really bad idea competitively and I find that funny. (I'm not into Pokemon ftr) Jigglypuff: I like Pjiggles' Bounce idea, I appreciate more movement options for characters and this looks like one of the more fun ones on the concept table. Lucina: Yours I like way more. Mainly the reasoning being more than just "I want my main to be busted". Ganondorf: Oooh. Tough calls cuz both are very needed for the poor demon king. I'll go with the float idea though since I prefer fancier movement tech over a projectile. Pit: As much as I like the idea of the original game getting more representation, Uprising had so many weapons to choose from and Pit didn't really get a lot which confused me when I first played Smash 4 with the introduction of Custom moves. Plus, the bow is already good enough for the first game's rep so the Club will do. Olimar: Once again, you get the win here. It's a better balance of making Olimar more interesting without being infuriating. That said Olimar is my number 1 choice for a reworked moveset or straight up getting cut Toon Link: I would absolutely chose both options but between the 2 I prefer Hurricane Spin because it has a little more personality behind it. Hey, nothing wrong with cute boys being cuter. Wii Fit Trainer: Although extensive, AceStarThe3rd's suggestion intrigues me more, minus the extra hula hoops move. Although the new dash attack would be cool it doesn't really fit the yoga pose gimmick Wii Fit's going for which, yes I realize the animations are lackluster but if they're gonna stick with it they might as well, and no penguin suit hurts my soul. Mii Brawler: Whydo's suggestion.......isn't a new move. Just a stat revert. Yeah, Shoulder Bash all the way. Sora: Both suggestions sound nice but I'm siding with MrDanishButterCookie since I'm not sure how to feel about the most requested Smash character of all time being more complex. Then again.....Steve.

I feel having Kirby be able to spawn one of three completely different animal buddies is a little weird. That's the equivalent of Mario being able to summon Yoshi anytime at will, a character far too large to make sense as something to spawn That and that move just *breaks* the idea of Kirby being a beginner friendly character, given such a mechanic is far too wild visually for the tutorial char. Another ability to replace side B would be more grounded and preferable

yeah i agree with the hurricane spin change, though i want to do a bit more than that: take his current up special as is, and move it to his down smash. if you fully charge the move, you get to move left and right for a bit. and as for his up special, i'd make it the deku leaf, giving it different functionality depending on if he's on the ground, or in the air. on the ground, toon link flaps the leaf, creating a gust of wind that blows the opponent away - great as an edgeguarding tool. in the air, it acts as a more standard recovery that doesn't deal damage, but surrounds toon link with gusts of wind that have much less power than the wind from its grounded variant.

If you're still reading comments on this video, I would really like to see a video where you pick 1 custom move from each character in Smash 4 to bring back into their Ultimate moveset. For example Ganondorf would get Wizard's Dropkick because of how much it helps him and makes him more interesting (I also think you should let yourself make small tweaks to the moves when necessary, like making Wizard's Dropkick b-reversable).

Surprised to see no one say anything about Pikmin Toss being replaced. Pikmin Charge would honestly fit better as a Smash Attack than replacing Pikmin Toss. Not to mention the loss of attaching Pikmin to opponents which is an iconic attack the Pikmin do in their games

Everu time i think of ganon, i think of a brutal and magical king, so here is all of my special ideas: For neutral, same thing as you said but i thought of like a charge that will give more power to one move Up be is a teleport with limited range Down be hw will go up and then so a kick that you can angle For side b, he will do a command grad like incenorar, but instead of dashing, he will do a little blast that if the opponent get caught, you need timing If you go foward, he will warlock punch ( it doenst exist anymore so..) If you go back he will spin and throw If you go up, he will use his sword up If you go down, he will stomp on the enemy, burieng them

To add onto the Sora Drive Form mechanic it should semi randomize as a risk vs reward like in Kingdom Hearts II, depending on if you attack more vs getting damaged more and would calculate as the Drive meter filled up. Final Form would gain Reflega and lose Counterattack. Anti-Form loses his Keyblade completely and is locked out of Magic. Instead he gains more rapid combos and glides while still not being able to Counterattack, but can still block unlike KHII because Smash.

For Mario, I would think changing his Flood with a ground pound would be more fitting. Sure, flood is a good edge guarding tool that has brought many players into the abyss, but ground pound is more iconic and known for Mario. Also I wouldn't use it on the down air since it's an important combo tool for Mario and taking it away would hurt him more than groundpound could ever help. Groundpound should be able to burry opponents and even spike, also should be able to cancel it by pressing down B again, making him twirl to interrupt his downfall for a little bit, just like groundpound-canceling

I would prefer remove Kirby's hammer from all existence, Kirby f Smash with the kick is pretty solid thanks to Fair 1>F Smash, if we replace the kick with hammer would have less range and slower than the f smash with the kick

Personally, a change I'd like to see for Jigglypuff would be if all of her throws were changed to be Play Rough. No matter where she throws her opponent, the animation will be a cartoony dust cloud of her pummeling them before they get launched and anyone who's close enough will get sucked into the cloud and take less knockback than the one she grabbed. Her throws, as is, are kind of plain and this would add another Fairy-type move to her kit while also playing up her reputation as the deadly joke character. It also just fits well with how silly she looks with her expressive face as of Smash 4 onward.

Some of my choices: - I'd make Samus' melee counter her jab, fair, & dash attack & just give them Trample, which allows them to function similarly to how they do in Metroid (trample means that if they clash with other moves, Samus is not subjected to lag while the opponent is) - I'd give Kirby the High Jump copy ability for his up-B, which would give him a fast, invincible, long-distance recovery with an active hitbox that can be curved like Lucario's for easy mixups - I'd make Disarming Voice a projectile that doesn't do damage, but pushes the opponent away (like Palutena's Reflect side-B in Smash4, but with more range, airstall, & maybe a slightly faster travel speed) - Ganondorf's neutral-B is the one from the Legacy XP mod -- a projectile that can be charged to release 6 homing projectiles; while it's being charged, Ganondorf floats in place and can move forward or backward; I'd give the charge some armor so he can't just get easily spiked

Yeah, the one thing I don't like on the design of my main's moveset (the Pits) is that... You have a ridiculous amount of weapon types in Kid Icarus Uprising! And you only use three?! An arm, a bow and the orbitars. It's downright criminal. Also, if you're gonna give Magnus' club to Pit's F-smash, I say Dark Pit's F-smash should be skyscraper club. I don't know, but the implications of lifting a skyscraper and slamming it onto the opponent just sounds badass, even if it has like a twentieth of the real length.

Somewhat similar video idea: You've said before certain characters would "kill to have _____'s (move)" and I wonder if that concept could be taken further? "If every character could steal one move" Kinda like how Sonic stole a bunch of moves in Brawl because of time constraints, but this time it's on purpose. Basically, if a character looks at someone's Up-B, for example, and would really benefit from having it. You have a lot of knowledge of different matches, and I imagine there are times where you can look at a character failing to do something, and think "if only they had Link's nair..." Obviously, that list would just be dominated by stuff like Steve's Blocks, Snake's Missile I'm not googling how to spell, DK's back air, etc, so every move would be limited to being stolen by one character. I think this would be a really interesting discussion with your expertise and strong vision for character direction when it comes to Smash.

I think Dark Samus is the echo fighter that needs changes the 2nd most (only behind Ganon). I think something that might work would be something related to the clones in Metroid Prime 3. They’re a huge part of the final boss against her. Dark Samus could also use her boost ball attack from Prime 2 in place of the missiles which she never uses. She does have a beam attack where she shoots out a bunch of little beams, so her charge beam could probably changed to that (more charge = more beams). Please Nintendo, change this character!

For me personally, I’d love to see ganon on a horse. It could be his side b and have armour on the horse but not ganon. He could also jump off his horse and perform any action just like wario’s bike. The horse will be a very strong hitbox but turning around with the horse takes a tremendous amount of time to suit ganon’s very slow but powerful nature as well as to help ganon in disadvantage and his weakness against projectiles.

What if you did a video sort of like the best of every move character except for each of the mil fighter archetypes, creating the best movesets for a fighter, sword, and gunner character based on the existing characters in that archetype. You could also do a similar concept except creating a Mockrock character that takes from existing move sets to create the perfect character for your own custom playstyle

Samus counter as a smash would be awesome but it should replace up smash, which is a horrible move that doesn’t work

In my opinion I think that toon links hurricane spin should be his side b and the skull hammer should be his side smash and his up b should be the deku leaf

I hold the strong belief that Ganondorf actually has the worst recovery in the game, which given how he can canonically fly frustrates me to no end. Needless to say I'm 110% behind this new special. I can live without dead man's volley, I literately keep dyeing because all it takes is the smallest poke to completely destroy any hope I ever had of making it back to stage.

The problem with Ganondorf is that pretty much everyone loves him currently, even if most would want him to be better represented. You can't make him a more cunning and magical without kinda removing the identity he's forged in smash of being a brutal, braindead powerhouse, so I'd propose we don't even try; Instead, separate Ganondorf, and Beast Ganon as two different characters. It's not like the Zelda series is shy to have variants in Smash after all, and his current more "Press buttons, just throw everything at them, be powerful" playstyle befits how Beast Ganon's been represented more, so I think you definitely could have the best of both worlds. Beast Ganon would definitely have to have the early 2d Zelda Pig look like that Project M alt costume as you couldn't really make any of the other Beast Ganons work in smash with even roughly the same skeleton as Ganondorf, which is unfortunate considering this design philosophy would fit how Calamity Ganon/Dark Beast Ganon in BotW is portrayed, but I think it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to claim Beast Ganon would always be more power focused than cunning. As for how the all new Ganondorf would go, honestly modders have explored that way better than I could here so I won't bother, but the point here is that splitting the two up could finally have a realistically feasible way to allow for a complete redesign to represent Ganondorf's very smart and cunning nature (along with his magic of course) a lot more alongside his power, and finally do him justice in Smash by making him feel properly intimidating in the right hands, without stomping on the legacy his Smash iteration has forged on his own. EIther way give him his pm up tilt i'm BEGGING you

I think giving lucina a random lance attack for neutral special would be incredibly janky. It's already kind of janky when byleth switches between weapons but it's his whole design. It would be seriously weird for her to have one random lance attack even if her great lord class can use lances. Instead i would replace her current shield breaker animation with her critical animation from her game where she jumps, does a 360, then slams her sword down. The move would come out on frame 30ish and instantly break full shield. When used in the air she continues to decend till she hits the ground kind of like bowser bomb. Honestly though she should be reworked entirely starting with her idle stance which should be made to model her iconic stance from her game. Dash attack should be her sliding thrust from her game. Side b should be luna which is like ike's side b only she goes through her opponent, is slower start up and slower travel speed, cause tripping on the ground or meteor in the air, does decent damage (like 18%), and does extra shield damage. Up b should be galeforce, swings the sword in front, then behind, then rises, has set vertical knockback and does not put lucina in freefall on hit and restores a double jump on hit but can only be used once without getting hit or touching ground. Down b would be awakening which is functionally similar to wii fit's deep breathing where she holds the sword vertically infront of her face similar to what she does before skill activations.

I understand this perspective, but I also think that if the Fire Emblem characters had been designed this way more from the beginning, nobody would bat an eye at it, and personally I _do_ wish they'd taken more of the Fire Emblem arsenal into account starting earlier in the series

@@MockRockTalk but quick weapon switching isn't really a thing in fire emblem either. You basically only get to use one weapon for the entire turn unless an ally dances or trades with that character, or if the weapon breaks. In most cases, once you select a weapon, you are stuck with it for the rest of the turn. It would be more fitting if down b switched weapons similar to min min. If they did that for byleth, he wouldn't feel like such a Frankenstein character

what?? it's just her swinging her cannon arm from low forward to mid high, it's not inspired by her up smash at all lmao they don't look anything alike. their purposes aren't even similar
