How do you think this garage kit compares to the P-Bandai FM/100 Sword Calamity? Sick build, btw, it looks awesome!

Thank you!! There are 2 ways to answer that question: aesthetically and mechanically. Aesthetically I vastly prefer the look of this resin conversion kit for its sleekness, I feel like it fits in with the SEED look really well. Mechanically, the FM 1/100 is more solid and cohesive, though mine is a bit unstable compared to the resin kit. The modern SEED redesigns are a bit too jagged and gimmicky for my personal taste, but they are definitely nice model kits!

This is fantastic, never came across this channel before, I've done conversions etc with warhammer for years but seeing someone painting and fix/modding gunpla is pretty cool, I think I'll give this a go with my gunpla collection

I subbed because that custom rx 78 looks dope, May I ask what blue did you use on that custom? from where did you get that back part of the head haha? I want to do it as well . this is just too nice

Thank you very much! I made that years ago, the blue was an on-the-fly mixture, I was trying to do something similar to the anime appearance of the RX-78-2 in 0079. The back half of the head is just epoxy putty that I roughly sculpted!

Thank you! To get this white colour, I primed in black, and then did a desaturated blue base coat in air superiority blue. Then, sprayed a very thin coat of off white. Weathering it with oil paints tied it all together at the end!

my Kampfer HG is the first kit i want to try customizing and painting when I'm ready, I NEED to know how you did you Mono Eye Joint please! I love how the darkness of the interior of the head makes for a optical illusion where it looks like the eye is following you as it spins

Thanks! I don't think I can explain it any clearer than I do in the video? Mono eye mod starts at 2:30 - it's just hollowing out the inside and gluing a ball joint up in there!

Thanks! Not sure, it hasn't been in production for a long time. That means you'd be getting it on secondary market, so probably very expensive.

También tengo ese kit, aunque mis habilidades de modificación se limitan a la destrucción de aerógrafos por no saber cómo utilizarlos (llevo 2 y voy por el tercero), por lo que solo llegué a pintar la mayoría de detalles con pintura acrílica y usando solo pincel, por lo que mi trabajo de pintura es espantosamente burdo

Yeah, they have limited articulation, but by manipulating the skirt armor they get a bigger range of movement.

Hey guys! Lincoln or “Link” was actually the one non-Japanese member of the creative team working with Kow Yokoyama the creator of Maschinen Krieger. He’s also the author of AKs Sci Fi FAQ book (a bible for any sci fi modeller) and one of the last great proponents for Ma.K kits in the west. He’s suffered a stroke recently and if you appreciate his work I recommend going to his personal website where he has kits and other awesome Ma.K lit that he’s produced and sourced from Japan. John Bias is also an awesome modeller and a member of the Plastic Posse Podcast one of my favorites and one of the few podcasts I listen to. You guys can listen to them on just about any platform they interview everyone from Night Shift and LPJ models to others in the armor, air, and sci Fi modelling communities!

It looks like you could take a Leo and take chunks of it to improve the articulation. The forearms seem the big one there since it looks like from, at least, the elbow down and the hands are, essentially, the Leo ones. If you use the NPD Leo for the parts, there is also the clear eye piece which looks like it could also work. I might grab a NPD and a space Leo...eye piece from the Space Leo shifts to the body of the NPD, because the head and a few other parts can be swapped for the EWAC Leo conversion, then the clear eye piece originally with the NPD along with the arms would work with the Tragos, while the rest of the NPD gets re-used for a custom for a D-Unit from G-Unit

You could definitely use Leo parts to improve the articulation, though you'd have to be careful with modifying the resin parts, the material isn't as forgiving as polystyrene is!

I've used quite a few different brands, but in the past couple years I've settled on: Gloss: Mr. Color GX112 Super Gloss III UV Cut Matte: Mr. Color GX114 Super Smooth Clear (Matte)

I noticed on the wings that you painted the section that holds the main wings in place that you painted it blue and the original color was yellow and those kind of oval shaped details on the red wings were red but originally they were white, did you do that on purpose to make it your own color scheme or was it by accident? Nonetheless it looks great. Happy building.😊

Yes that was the HGAC - I painted about 5 years ago. I'd like to repaint it (and the rest of the squad) with my current style to update them, buuut stripping the paint on them all is a lot of work haha. Thank you so much for your comment! I am always practicing 😬

May the best builder win. a little FYI, if you buy the 30 minute missions yellow beam effects, the large thunder effect may be compatible with the buster rifle. I've used this with my HG and RG Wing Gundam

Thank you!! The dust and dirt was done with acrylic dry brushing and sponge-chipping, but the real MVP is the black and brown oil paint!

Hey Liam cheers for the video! Could you clarify your pipeline please? So after priming you do a base coat which is a darker colour of the main coat? E.g. dark red over black primer, and you also kinda leave the dark edges even on base coat? Then you do the main coat which is the 'main' e.g. red colour, and on top of that highlight if needed? Thanks !

Absolutely, correct: my base coat is a darker shade of what my main coat will be. However, in the style I use I try not to completely cover the edges with any of the coats so the black primer shows a little underneath. The main coat and the highlight are both closer to the centre (or just above the centre depending on where you want the light to be strongest) which helps with a gradual gradient all the way to the darker edges. It may not be realistic, but I find it really pleasing to look at :)

Understandable! I like 1/100 kits too, but in the end it comes down to a storage space issue for me. Also, after I'm finished working on a kit it's nice to have a little guy that just fits in my hand haha. Just something fun I like about the hobby.

I still have this kit. I hate the peg in the wings. But that's understandable given that its a no grade 1/144. I'm planning to make a diorama out of my old 1/144 Gundam series

Perhaps it differs region to region, but I've always been able to find them online for less than $30 in my country's currency. For the use I get out of them, I'm more than happy to pay.
