Nah for sure that truck can pull 12,000 pounds but the frame would snap in half that’s the problem but towing max towing capacity will be no problem and the other issues I’ve seen people have is overheating while towing heavy so cooling not sufficient maybe

I have 84K miles. Owned it 4 years the end of this December) on my 2021 Diesel gladiator. Oil changes every 5K miles. No problems to date only in the shop for oil and fluid changes. Just had the fuel pump replaced per the Jeep recall, although I did not have the furl pump fail, just being proactive. Love the vehicle.

I recently bought a 2024 coloradi zr2. About to go buy 35×12.5r17 or 315/70r17 musctitrs and new gols or bronze colored wheels as my truck is that unique harvest brinze metallic color. When warranty runs out in 3 years i will get a bigger suspension lift installed on my truck so that i can go up to 37" tall mud tires.

Like the bullet point. These are ridiculously priced. 150 bucks for a phone mount? Cheaper than the bullet point at 170 dollars. That starting at some low price. Nah, base 109 and you need a phone holder, another 40 bucks. As long as you submit your email and save the 20% otherwise it is 49 bucks. All these channels saying how great they are. Send me a product free and I likely will favorably review it too. Need to compare these to 20 and 30 dollar units. The real phone mount videos we want too see.

Great video and lots of good information. I have a 2021 JLU Diesel, the only issue I had was at 18,000 miles my turbo went out and I kept getting the error msg "Electricon Throat Control Failure, also the Jeep would die at 65 mph. Thank god I bought the extended warranty, the dealership had my Jeep for 6 weeks fixing it. They had to remove the body from the frame to replace the turbo. Talk about a shitty design. Other than that, I've had zero issues.

I have had a 2014 WK2 with Ecodiesel for last 10 years, 106k miles. SCR and DEF systems had to be replaced under warranty at 20k miles or so. It has been trouble free since but has had few other issues. Dealers have no idea on how to support these diesels.

If your driving on the street or never driven one that’s has been re geared that why your saying it’s great. Go of road climbing or in the sand then you will understand. If you’re happy with the gearing great.

The DEF in the tank being frozen and not running the truck long enough to fully thaw it can cause the level sensor to not be able to report the remaining DEF. If this continues for too many key cycles it can trigger a CEL. If this happens again you can bring it into a heated garage overnight to allow the DEF to melt, or let the truck idle outside for (not joking) 2-4 hours so the entire tank thaws. The Gladiator DEF tank is quite tall and the heater is only at the bottom so it can take some time. In your case, based off the codes, it might be a heater issue with your pump module. Its possible that the wire isn't fully seated for the heater and its getting interment signals. Or, you're unlucky and gor a bad heater, which would require a tank replacement, which would be covered under warranty. Pump pressure too low after swapping pumps is a decent sign that the heaters aren't working as there's likely a cavity of air where your truck used the melted DEF and and the frozen block of it above the pump. This can cause further issues as the pump is not great at self priming. I hope you managed to get this fixed and are enjoying your truck.

If I could nitpick about one single little thing it would be the turbo lag. With no tuner the get up and go hole shot is a bit slow due to the turbo lag.

I’m looking at a 2021 diesel Gladiator Rubicon & I’m wanting to put the Dana 60/70 axles from my 3/4 ton dodge & put the Gladiator axles under my diesel Liberty. What gearing would you recommend for 40” tires on the Gladiator ? Loved this video & will wait for more !

I have a JLURD and I would buy it again tomorrow if they had a new one on the lot. I’m going to keep it forever since they discontinued the engine choice but I love everything about it. The torque is REAL. 2 weeks ago I pulled 8 trucks with boat attached up out of the bay (boat launch) that were stuck in the snow and could pull out. I put it is 4L,, enabled both lockers and literally took my foot off the brake and pulled them out at idle. I didn’t touch the accelerator pedal except for a 30ft pilot house boat attached to a dually Cummins Ram. I needed some juice for that one.

just found your page, been looking around a lot for ideas. just bought a 15 jku altitude. already found a lift for it. 4" rough country with all the control arms and track bars. still cant decide what tire size to go with. mind you it will be a daily with about a 80 mile a day round trip for work. about half highway and half city roads. considering 37's but after watching this it may a bit much. 35's seem practical, but any input would help out tremendously.

If you don’t regear. I wouldn’t run 37’s. Your 6 speed transmission won’t like it. I have the 8 speed so it doesn’t pretty well with 37’s. Why a 4”? All my rigs have had 2.5”-3.5”. 4” might look a little goofy with 35’s. Just my opinion!
@wskybnt72

@@MaxOverland well, i figured i would have to go 4'" to get 37's to fit. But, considering now only 35's, i could find something a little lower. doubt the wife would let me regear in the long run. i was actually thinking about my 07 grand, needed 4" just to stuff 33's on it. thank you for your input, it helps me to figure out which direction to go. you have any recommendations on a brand of you lift you like more than others? This is my first wrangler, so not sure what direction to go.

shouldnt be too bad in the cold. alot of modern diesels either have block warmers you can plug in during the night, and plus the glow plugs are much more advanced nowadays. use #1 diesel during these times to help prevent gelling. i agree with you on the DEF tho. it will freeze and sucks!

Really awesome and real video. Just bought a used 21 used JL rubicon diesel wrangler and this video changed my thought of how to build it. It’s a daily so thinking I’ll stick with 35-37s and keep it mostly stock while also allowing me to still hit the trails. Bought mine used with low miles because I was downgrading also. Rather save $20k in my pocket and build it up at my own pace and financial situation.
