SOMETIMES indistinguishable from this last category with dress and mannerism. 3. Creepers who want to prey on category 1 or just need to be out in the woods away from authorities and witnesses. Maybe they also need to clear their mind in nature at the moment too. BUT I live in North central CT and in the warmer seasons I deal with black bears literally everyday in my yard and my neighborhood. I use pellet guns, blunt bird arrows and 12 foot treated sticks to chase them off as harming the INCREDIBLY OVERPOPULATED bears in CT is illegal… no hunting and I’ve personally known 4 cases of self defense in peoples homes where they were arrested for illegally killing a bear simply because it wasn’t facing the person at the time of shooting or depending on how far the bear was to the person when they shot them. Just yesterday for a half hour I followed a bear smacking a walking stick on the road and rocks to scare him off. I would NOT do this to a mother with cubs, I was 10-20 feet away on average but at times I walked 7-5 feet up to the bear and could hit him with the stick. I opted to hit the ground and not his butt but…. Bears are a huge problem here and they are NOT scared of humans here. Eventually I had to get the rubber bird arrows and use the compound bow. He booked it after that, But yeah personally as a man I don’t want to see another man in the woods over a bear. But I have NO FEAR for bears even when I really should… To add on to it, I’ve NEVET actually met a creep in the woods. I’ve actually been the creep. I try to follow and spy on people that I come across before they see me just cuz it’s fun. I have no bad intentions though. But out of all the weird man encounters I’ve had in the woods, even if left with an odd feeling or a blatantly creepy encounter, nothing has EVER happened. And I’m no strong scary man. I’m 130 pounds at 5’11”. But I guess I’m also more comfortable with wildlife than humanity in general. I’m a cynic. Even though animals are unpredictable, there is easy prediction within their unpredictability. People are also SURPRISINGLY predictable themselves though.
