Hi - thank you so much for this video. I’m waiting on a set of wheels to arrive and this is just brilliant. Do you need to grease up the axle when installing the new wheel?

That's a great question. Yes, but a very light coating will suffice. I believe when I originally installed it I used wheel bearing grease.

@oxouk7 күн бұрын
@@markmcginness1933 Try putting the entire belt drive in the freezer for an hour. Materials will contract when cold. If it still won't come out, get a couple of pry bars and place them 180 degrees apart and try prying it out. Make sure to place a towel or shop rag under the pry bars as to not damage the machined edge of the pulley.

It’s not necessary. Others would say it is, but I had other pipes put on by the dealer and they didn’t do a tune, so I decided not to.

Whats up Jason!? I stumbled across this old video of yours and your kit sounds sick bro! You're a really good drummer and I understand why they replaced me with you. I was too distracted with girls and surfing back then that I didn't put my complete heart into it. I'm just a self taught drummer who learned from listening to Nirvana, you on the other hand got serious skills. You sound great man, hope you're doing good these days. Later...
@oxoukАй бұрын
Hey man, I was actually at the gym listening to Echo 7 when I got this message. That’s crazy. I appreciate the compliment man. I have been replaced by drummers that were more dedicated to the craft than I was. Distractions certainly played a part, but you move on. I’ve been playing bass for the last 3 years and don’t really play the drums as much as I would like to. Things are good on my end and certainly hope the same for you Mike.

@oxouk3 ай бұрын
Your stock seat mounts to your sub frame which also holds your stock fender. The subframe will be removed to accommodate the 240 wheel and tire. My seat is the Indian 1920 Solo saddle seat. Try looking for it from Indianmotorcycles.com, through Polaris that makes Indian, Indian parts nation, or your nearest Indian dealer.

What I did to lift my scout was remove the seat and hooked a wrachet strap around the top of each shock bolts and across the seat area, then used my engine hoist to lift the rear up, the balance was perfect and no fear of dropping the bike.

My mechanic looked at this video while we were discussing putting the 240 tire kit on my 2024 bobber and even he was impressed with your explanations and skills. He's installed a bunch of 240's on harleys so he was unfamiliar with the RC setup on an Indian. Needless to say; he told me to go ahead and order the kit and he would slap it on with a custom fender job and rear light setup. This will all be done after I get back from Vegas in April. Thanks for another great video!
@oxouk3 ай бұрын
I really appreciate the feedback. Thank you for watching the video. Just a word of advice, RC sends the rear wheel with the Metzeller 888 tire for a reason. Due to tire size inconsistencies some 240 tires will not clear the swing arm and will rub. Good luck on your build. You won't be dissapointed!

What mirrors are those? Need an adapter?
@oxouk3 ай бұрын
The mirrors are cheap $30 set on Ebay. Just type in "Black rectangle motorcycle mirrors". They will have a split stem. Unscrew the mirrors from the split mount. Cut the bar end mounts from your oem mirrors in half, drill a hole using a tap and die, and screw in the rectangle mirrors into the cut oem bar end mounts. If you screw them up, oh well, just buy another pair. If you go to my page, I'm sure I have a video showing how I did it.

Let me ask you, how did you fit the brake spacers in with the caliper mount, I have ZERO clearance, i can't even get the thick spacer and caliper mount in. looks like I need 3/16 of an inch more room. Did it just go right in for you?
@oxouk4 ай бұрын
I had no issues at all. Assuming all your parts are correct, I don't see why it won't fit.
@oxouk4 ай бұрын
I just watched the video, You need to remove the stock spacer from the left side of your wheel, it's 3/16 or so longer than the one that came with the new wheel. That's where your clearance issue is. Go to the 12:00 min mark in the video and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Did you have to buy a part to keep your brake lights mounted since you removed the back fender? Don’t know if I need another piece to keep my stock brake lights

I used a tv wall mount bracket. Basically all you need is a long piece of flat metal, drill two holes to attach to the underside of the seat mount, make a 90 degree bend at each end of the flat metal, drilled a hole at each end to mount your tail lights.
