*I don't mind old games going extinct as long as the footage of them lives on 👌 and there's always the opportunity to remake or remaster.*
@Zerbraxi13 сағат бұрын
The footage is nice to be able to "see" the game, but I don't personally want to "see" it, I want to "play" it. Granted, if I'm settling on the footage existing or extinction, then yeah I totally agree with ya. I don't like banking on remakes or remasters personally. The likelihood of a remaster or remake of any particular game, that isn't a 1st or 2nd party Sony PS4 title, is insanely low. Even games with very strong followings are often left without, and the longer time goes on those "obscure games lost forever from the 80's" will eventually become "the obscure games lost forever from the 2010's". Thankfully it would appear that, mostly, the general consumer base is taking the matter into their own hands and solving the preservation problem.

@@ThousandairesClub I'll have to try that game out. There hasn't been much like Paperboy in a long while. In general, I am beyond excited about the future of this art form. In so many ways its the best its ever been and the creativity has been incredible. I embrace what's to come, but I'll also do what I can to preserve where it came from. It's not about letting go of the past, its about the entirety of it all, past, present, future. We truly can have our cake and eat it too in this case.

You can sequence break levels to minimize backtracking and have badass weapons in levels 2 and 4. I go 1,3,2,5,4,6. You technically need the torpedo launcher to get Primagen key 3. I think you will die going back because the water has a current.

Just wanna say I finished binging all the Golden Sun videos, been in my watch list for half a year at this point. I haven't played the first two since I was a kid, I really need to replay them again! I've had Dark Dawn since launch but funny enough never played it though. Hearing it doesn't have 90% of the main cast mentioned or returning or no JENNA OR WTFFFFFFFFF ... that actually makes me legit angry haha maybe it was best I never played it as a kid, this is, WILD to me, I can't get over this. I went straight to the wiki page to see myself 😂 These were fantastic videos man, great perspectives, writing and humour. Really enjoyed the delivery of them too, had a blast learning some new things and reliving some old nostalgia. Also massive LoD fan, one of the best games of all time, huge respect. Earned a sub, hopefully you make more videos like this in the future, I'll keep an eye out for now! Cheers, Xeno

I think I may have found a SECRET CODE or easter egg or something while watching your video.... 101010 IF you look at that table of characters to enter the password around the 28:22 mark, you will notice that there are a few letters/numbers that are missing...... those letters are: " I O 1 0 l o " ..... or capital i and o, numbers 1 and 0, and lowercase L and O...... but all characters put together appear to be like a binary sequence of 101010. I checked a binary converter and for binary of 101010 you get the decimal 42, hexacode of 2A, octal of 52, and the ASCII is *. Has anyone else noticed this or think it means anything special? I know the number 42 is mention in "Hitchikers guide to galaxy" as the answer to everything or something like that, not sure about the hexa and 2A, octal of 52 is usually the number of cards in a deck (minus the 2 jokers) or 52 weeks in a year, and teh ASCII of a * symbol could be to represent a star or the golden sun. One of Jupiters moons is actually named IO, and I think is known for having volcanic explosions and stuff. Not sure if any of this is connected or means anything, just kinda guessing since I noticed that those letters/numbers were intentionally left out. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I would love to hear them.... I may have missed some letters or characters, or perhaps some other conversion I didn't think of, or like try to enter the numbers backwards perhaps. Plenty of possibilities, so if anyone has some suggestions then please feel free to share. As for the video, it was a great overview of the sequel..... and I agree that Golden Sun is one of the best rpg's that I have played. I love games that use the 4 elements, and the djinn were a fun addition that could change ur class, stats, and spells. For a GBA game the graphics were impressive, it had a good story with fun gameplay and interesting puzzles in the dungeons, plus flashy combat for spells/summons that felt great to use. I like how the sequel was really like the 2nd half of the story but from the opposite perspective where u play as the other "enemy" team that was opposing your original team from the first game. And only after you play both games do you get the full story and everything. A pretty cool and unique idea that worked out well to help flesh out the story and its characters. It was a really great game that still has alot of potential to be expanded on for a new game that is in the same world and same or similar combat/magic system. I wish they had done more with the series..... but the first 2 games together is still a great experience on their own.

Hopefully the series will come back one day, that or something inspired by it. Considering the prevalence of JRPGs again Im confident that GS, or something GS-like will return

@@Zerbraxi I think, and hope, that it will come back too.... considering how much of media, not just games, is rehashing old content to redo it with better graphics and stuff, instead of new material.... Hello here from the retrospective of Turok Dinosaur Hunter lol. I just wanted to share a little funny story from when I was a toddler. I remember going to the mall once as probs like a 3-4 yr old and I had asked my dad if he could buy me a game for “The Nintendo” and me being illiterate at the time and my dad not knowing about esrb ratings I ended up getting Turok 2 Seeds of evil. Little would I know how gorey this game would be😂😂. We didn’t have a memory card for the 64 so we would always start with the game not saved, the neat thing was that my older brother found out about the BEWAREOBLIVIONISATHAND cheat code to unlock everything. It’s funny to think that Turok 2 was the first game I ever picked out on my own lol. Hope you enjoyed my long story haha. These retrospectives have been really nice to watch, thank you for your hard work!

3:13 Super late to this video for giving any recommendations, BUT... Solatorobo: Red the Hunter is a personal favorite of mine for the DS. The gameplay is a bit simple, but the characters are great, and the story is also very interesting. It's a part of the "Little Tail Bronx" series, and is a sequel of sorts to Tail Concerto for the PS1. (It also has a planned trilogy of prequel games under the series title of Fuga: Melodies of Steel. The first two games in this sub-series have already been released. The Fuga games are unlike the PS1 and DS games though as they are turn-based RPGs instead of being 3D platformer-ish.)

investigation the psyenergy vortexes was never the plot. so they didnt forget that. it was just an extra feature and ( i forget but i think) a result of the lighthouses being lit. the game started with a small plot of trying to get get the mountain roc feather for your soarwing to be expanded and reveal the true plot of the tuaparang manipulating your actions trying to get you to activate luna tower, ultimately to seize control of the apollo lens and become powerful. the blados and chalis were going to use it to strike their own ship as a coup against their tyrannical king. the storys not bad ita just requires some thinking afterward to understand. also i love the sommons theyre 3ds level
@Zerbraxi28 күн бұрын
I think the fact they focus for the first few hours on the vortexes and then bring it back post credits shows that it was intended as a plot point. The summon animations are truly top tier. I never got tried of them, not once. They look astounding for the DS

Starfox's problems often come from a scope that does not match the ambition. They were building up the aparoids as an existential threat ala Mass Effects reapers, and it might've been awesome to see that play out over a series of games with many endings similar to what they attempted in command. But the series isn't good as a nintendo franchise. Nintendo is looking for not so serious plots that they can shove into a hardware gimmick and call it a day. It's honestly why they struggled with plots for Zelda games for a while. But here's to hoping against hope they figure out how to deliver us a Star Fox breath of the wild. By which I mean a game that is good, true to the material and vibes of the series, and acknowledges that it's fans have grown up a little, without totally losing it's whimsy. Not a beat for beat lazy copy of a different games style wearing a Fox skin coat. *Cough* *cough* Oh Starfox Adventures I didn't see you there...
@Zerbraxi29 күн бұрын
The constant pivot between development studios doesn't help the series for sure. I think it'd be best to just keep it in-house or completely outsource to an external studio like Namco Bandai, Platinum, or others. Just something to give a team a chance to trial and error and learn how to improve and develop the experience
