That's kinda sad man, I'm a young person and I wanna have fun, but the only fun most people have currently is looking at their phone and worrying about peoples opinions and judging each other. Having FUN is dead nowadays not just clubbing

Don’t be discouraged. I think your generation might just have a different way of socialising, doesn’t mean it is wrong. I’m sure you’ll find your place and find people who can disconnect to enjoy the moment. I’d go further and say this issue of always being on the phone impacts us all irrespective of age. The club was and at times can still be cool. But personally I’ve had the most fun playing sport, going to the beach and just living man……

@@economicsofentertainment I agree heavy with your comment and especially with the last sentence. I love sports, going to the beach and socialising in general not just clubbing, it was more of an example of having fun. But yeah, it's kinda hard to convince ppl to go out in general and do activities together, not just go for a beer or hang out at home w/ our phones etc. It's kinda hard to do these things in our gen but imma have hope

Why is it that clubs and bars are the only public businesses which are permitted to decide who is and who is not allowed to enter the building? ALL stores and restaurants should have this authority.

Really? I think the additional cost of actually doing it won’t make financial sense. Grocery stores are already cheap with their security, imagine now trying to get them to enforce who can or can’t enter.

People don't realize how much money cities put out for NFL franchises. The way an NFL game runs is literally average 20 minutes which means you can add more adds than any other Sport out there since every stop play means more people talking about the plays, waiting for the half time shows, snacking etc. The Pay cap also means more players make more money not just one main player as it is in Football in Europe. The NFL is peanuts compared to the global Football Market in value.
@economicsofentertainment
@economicsofentertainment 4 күн бұрын
Very good points. The difficulty although with global football (soccer for some) is that there is a huge pie but it’s split amongst way more participants and distribution is heavily weighted to those who win, thus further creating a wider gap (I.e Win, earn more money, pay for best talent, then repeat cycle). The NFLs cost controls and closed structure are some of the reasons why each franchise is profitable. Not saying this is the way European football should go, but lessons can be learned!
@danfuerthgillis4483
@danfuerthgillis4483 4 күн бұрын
@@economicsofentertainment Yes the biggest issue is advertising and there is no denying that in the USA the advertising is more loose than in Europe for example there are no drug adds allowed on European adds on any channels. You can’t put any of these high paying adds there so the NFL and the tv Networks are making a huge profit from these adds. You barely see any chips or snack food items on European adds since it’s more controlled there due to obesity and health issues.

I have no personal moral objections or opinions on Onlyfans. I respect people making money, any way they choose. But i do hope people research it throughly before deciding to do it. As you stated, its only a small percentage that actually makes the most money on OF. Most people either make nothing or less than they would doing a retail job.

One thing to take into account is the way that black people were treat by clubs, especially in central London. Many clubs in central London had racist door policies and there were many news articles and social media posts highlighting the issue (e.g. DSTRKT). Also many events that would have either attracted predominantly black patrons (e.g Dancehall, hip-hop, soca, grime, etc) werent allowed to run or got shut down. Especially during the 90s and 00s. This was also the case in Manchester and Nottingham (especially during the 'Shottingham' era where complex issues of gang violence and disorder were often racialised by media and police) This resulted in many within this demographic being less incentivised to go out and being less invested in nightlife in general.

That’s a point to consider but Black people make up approximately 4% of the population in the UK. I’m not sure that some people cancelling west end nightlife is the actual reason for why club culture in the city died. But it may certainly have been a contributing factor for some.
@Toastfacekillah87
@Toastfacekillah87 3 күн бұрын
@economicsofentertainment I'm not saying it is a significant factor when it comes to the general decline of clubbing but looking at it from my black lens it is a very important point for me. Its one imo that white researchers of nightlife/night time economy tend to overlook/dismiss. My mum always used to tell me about the underground blues parties and shabeens in London that she used to attend back in the 70s that played old school bashment and Lovers Rock. The sound systems and all that. Kind of like safe refuges from the racism that existed back then within the club scene. Such an amazing era of underground London clubbing imo.

Kpop retains that distance between artists and their audience, as well as the control of the music industry, television shows and festival circuit to manufacture "stardom" in their acts. It's why people go feral for blackpink, and why, as they become more accessible, their star power diminishes.
