I love that Sam correctly said, "She's running out of rounds," instead of "...bullets," -- I would bet this lovely lady has at least done some target shooting in her time.

In an interview with the screen writer, he said that in one very early version of the script that it was actually Harry (Jeff Daniels') character who put the bomb on the bus. I believe that he said that the character was supposed to be forced to retire after being shot by Jack, and that his life fell apart after that, and putting the bomb on the bus was to get his revenge on Jack and to get the money. I think there are elements of that version of the script that made it into the final draft. Like using the cheap gold retirement gift watch as a timer on the bomb, saying to Jack that he was smarter than him, saying "I got a medal too Jack. I got a medal and then a pink slip and sorry about your hand" (probably leg in the original draft) and things like that.

Poles on buses and trains are placed by jacking up the roof, then sinking metal roof cups down onto the poles. Metal cups in the floor aswell. There's no way to move the poles by hand. So that was accurate.

$3.7 million in cash at the villain's age is pretty good. If it wasn't for losing his head, he'd probably be fleeing the country... living out his last few years in a South American country splurging on hookers, good food and booze

The Scene where Keanu Reacts to Harry's death was very Real for Keanu because his friend River Phoenix Died while this movie was filming about 6 months before this movie was released Keanu has said that reaction was very cathartic as he was grieving the lost of one of his best friends in real life

The space ship is basically a safari jeep. The reason the alien is there is the same reason humans go to Africa and put Lion's heads on their walls. That's all the reason there needs to be. We see it everyday. People trying to prove how mighty they are by taking on the biggest challengers. This is why the Predator stayed hidden. To see which person or group was the most bad ass and therefore the one most challenging to go after. He was recording their voices to use just like hunters use duck and elk calls. The Predator was basically exactly like a human hunter trying to prove how tough he was.

This is my favorite science-fiction movie. Although many people think the ending involves time travel, that isn’t true. It is a sound, philosophical idea that is at least 1,500 years old this year. It was conceived by Boethius (480-524) in the last year of his life and discussed in his book, "The Consolation of Philosophy," considered one of the most important works of medieval philosophy. To explain how God’s omniscience can be reconciled with human free will, Boethius conceived the idea that, for God, all time exists simultaneously (because God exists outside of time). Inside the tesseract, Cooper experiences God’s time, which suggests that the fifth-dimensional beings (i.e., our future selves) have evolved to a godlike state. This conception of God’s time is still held today by many Evangelicals and other Christian sects. I believe the idea is even older, because in Virgil’s “Aeneid” (1st century B.C.), Aeneas visits the underworld, where all the dead, past and future, exist together.

Great review guys. In the extended version you get more backstory on Ripley, she had a daughter that passed away while she was in cryo. This makes the "mommy" comment from Newt even more impactful. Also, side note, the knife scene with Bishop and Hudson was originally scripted as just bishop involved. At the last minute they included Hudson's hand in the scene, making his response even more authentic.

In the original script - Harry was supposed to be in on it with Mr. Payne. But the test audiences didn't like it - so they changed it.

Alien vs. Predator started as an in-joke on the set of Predator 2. One of the set decorators put a xenomorph skull among the collection of various trophies in a very brief scene in the sequel. It wasn't even supposed to be noticed, but noticed it was and that started fandom talking, "Are these two films in a shared universe?!?" The idea gained greater strength when an independent comic company called Black Horse Comics purchased the comic rights to both franchises around 1989 and started producing a limited B&W comic of Alien Vs. Predator. [They published other comics like Terminator vs. Robo-cop too.] The fans kept pushing for a movie adaptation and that finally came out in 2004 with dialogue and casting confirming the connection between the two already established franchises.

The bus stunt...Well,the bus didn't launch as far as the film says(50 feet). It was death proofed, which is a stunman term and modified for the stunt driver to not die,but it was really modified for the stunt driver to not break his back when the bus landed.

And just think,Johnny Depp was offered this film and he turned it down. Now,the backstory, was that the studio wanted younger male actors for action films and the studio had a list, which was Keanu Reeves,Johnny Depp,Christian Slater,Charlie Sheen and some others.

Yes, bus drivers will pull over to get coffee and snacks with people on board. Years ago, I was late to a job because one did just that.

They're not supposed to.😅Anyway, I think the film was trying to establish (and it did successfully) that this is the beginning of the driver's shift and hadn't picked up any passengers yet.
