Don't move here if you don't like the cops lying on a police report and then withholding it for almost 2 months so they can help their neighbor MJ Peterson get a disabled senior evicted. All that over what has come out as a false arrest started by a person the police knew had a history of very disturbing fake calls. You are at risk of getting arrested just for calling them like when my life was threatened and the cops came after me. You better have a good lawyer if you move to Amherst.

There is something so beautiful about a northern town. The houses, the seasons changing, the people. If I could deal with that cold, I would love a house here, in a Buffalo, or Dunkirk. The houses have so much more character and charm and were built to last over 100 years. Thank you for taking us for a ride with you through Niagra !!! ❤ 🙏

I lived most of my life in Kenmore. On Enola (it's Alone spelled backwards, first street built in Kenmore). And I grew up on Stillwell Ave. I love Kenmore. My dad sold his house last month in Kenmore. And moved to FL. He's tired of the snow. Kenmore will always have a place in my heart called home.

I got my first haircut in Buffalo in 1950. Mother got deported and we were taking her to Canada from Mississippi. If I hadn’t heard the story so many times growing upI wouldn’t even know it. It was probably a great place back then. Back in those days when your visa ran out you got deported. She came here from Australia. Daddy got our senator to get her back in and she became a naturalized US citizen. Now they don’t even deport criminals they welcome them. Vote for Kamala to get even more.

Visited Buffalo NY for first time in my life this past weekend for Opening day Bills game. Brother, let me tell you, I stayed in East Aurora and Hamburg at friends family house. I absolutely loved how beautiful it is. So green! The people are friendly. The breweries are amazing! The food is amazing. It felt small town and I loved that feel. You can walk to bills games from certain houses. You can Wallo with a beer in your hand to Bills games. I’m From AZ and I’m Latino. I felt welcomed in Buffalo. The only con about the place was the crazy snow in the winters. But I would Love to own a property there and maybe enjoy my retirement there half the year. The taxes I also hear are crazy.

I grew up in Buffalo, no more happened there than anywhere else. No kin to Rev. Davis are you ? Was that Emerson High. I watched them build ECMC. I grew up during the early 60's and left in the mid 90's, we know what happened in Buffalo, it's the elephant in the room and we won't wake him up. Mamma always said nothing good happanes in the dark. I grew up in the Fruit Belt, My dad was a pastor in Buffalo. I will always remember going to Sattlers at Christmas and the toy annex across the street. That train station was an albatross when it was built on spite and revenge.

I'm from Buffalo, and the thing about going from one nice block to another is so true. I remember walking by the Washington Monument one early evening with the tourists. Wanted to get a Coke, I looked across the street and there were seedy shops and hookers all over the place.

I went to Buffalo about 25 years ago and my friend and I were applauded by the state of disrepair and degradation that loomed all the way from “downtown” towards our destination of the original buffalo wing joint. Buffalo makes my disappointment of Rochester’s attempt to renew look good. Sorry, but aside from the disrepair of Buffalo, it is in the absolute worst path of horrible winter weather.

Any suburb south of the westside historically gets A LOT MORE SNOW. I'm in Amherst which has always been nice, clean, and safe. Stay north, Amherst, Clarence, Lockport, Tonawanda, North Tonawanda, Pendleton, Newfane; all north of Buffalo.

Who are you kidding, yea it is great compared to Chirack. No quality of life. too many crackheads roaming around. Ok, please don't believe me check the FBI crime statistics by the zip code. Oh in the winter forget about a snowplow on some of those small streets. I know better I would not live there for free.

If you don't need to move here, don't. I mean Erie county in general. I moved here from the south. The biggest different is taxes. All expenses here are more expensive than the south for example vehicles registration cost. Erie county cost of vehicle registalation is about 4 times higher. This is just small stuff. Talking about property taxes, if you live in Amherst and buy a house 400K taxes is about 9K. 😢

The city boundary lines are out of date. The real population of the city of buffalo is 886,000. The first ring suburbs are the outer city. The city proper is the inner city. The buffalo news, of all things pointed that out in an old Sunday magazine they used to publish. That's the last time they told the truth in 34 years.

The main thing going for this area is the cost of living being so low. I live in the area around Military rd. and it's pretty decent. Walking distance to pretty much every big shopping and restaurant you need. Also, a nice little hidden gem for buying homes is the area near the Hyde Park Gulf coarse. Lots of nice little quiet streets in that area with some really nice homes of all sizes. Very affordable, too.
