This is why I stay safe on the ground and only fly simulators. And use the coffee maker. I’d forget why I’m sitting in an airplane. With an instructor.

I would do something which few seem to ever do in these emergencies... For starters, back off on the throttle some. Pull pack from 75% Land asap.

I know this video is “older,” but Niko, I cannot wait to do what you’ve done here when I acquire a Piper Cherokee 180 or Cessna 177! Only difference, my hands will be getting “dirtier” thank yours did!😁

That’s great if you can do lots of the work yourself. You’ll save half or more of the cost. You learn a lot about your airplane when you do a project like that. And it’s amazing to bring an old airplane back to its original glory. I wish I had the time to do this sort of project more often

Happy you did not have a fire. Smoke in cockpit would have accelerated things very fast. My guess is that if that ever happens, this experience will help keep you safe.

Seems like all of my old go to avi KZbinrs are slowly hanging it up. Not sure if it’s pressure from the faa or maybe they all just get bored with it. Kind of miss the frequent uploads from 310 pilot, p1d and Niko. Anyone have any thoughts?

I’m personally up to my neck in work and life obligations but I absolutely love the filming and the production. To me the whole experience is my artistic outlet and I absolutely love engaging with the viewers and getting their feedback. It makes me a better pilot and I love the community. Thanks for your concern.

@NikosWings3 ай бұрын
Thanks. Get good sleep, eat well, have your stuff ready for the examiner, simple tings like your ID already out. Don’t have him ask for it, make his job easy. If you don’t know something say so. It’s ok. The first five minutes of you seeing the examiner he will know whether you will pass or not. For the flying part of you make a mistake correct it, we are humans. Good luck!

Excellent PDM Niko! Never push your own limits or those of the A/C. Many experienced pilots with lots of hours flying a well equipped A/C find themselves in trouble because they don't know when to call it a day and park the A/C and wait it out! Excellent decision making Niko!

Nothing compared to cruising the Greek isles! 😀
@NikosWings4 ай бұрын
The Greek isles are great but unorganized in terms of marinas, you have to be ready to spend time anchored out or must go early enough to bribe the dock master to get a spot, and services are non existent like water etc. fuel is also not widely available and expensive and the season is very short. The Aegean is almost impossible to cross in the windy summer months. Trust me I’ve done it all.

@@NikosWings although this year we’re low on rain and the depth across Lake Okeechobee is questionable, if you ever get the opportunity, definitely do the crossing from Stuart to Fort Myers or vice versa. Probably one of the best trips I had, including getting some lock experience.
