Filing IFR is still no guarantee to get priority. Any Tower can shut off arrivals from approach control if they get too busy. Actually you may stand a better chance of getting in sooner if you stay VFR. You probably would have gotten in VFR after only a few minutes delay.

Man, you handled that really well. Super chill, managed your fuel state. Figured out a good way to file with flight service, and got what you needed without being a pain, or getting into a sticky situation. For the GA crowd here, he did a lot of little stuff right, so he never had to do anything too exciting! Well done!

Nice to see you're doing ok. Sometimes I feel like some of these airports act like they don't want to be bothered by GA. We cater to jets only kind of attitude. Maybe I'm wrong but I've seen other ways airport management have tried to run off smaller aircraft. Great videos as usual. You always have excellent quality, thanks for bringing us along with you.

I don't mean to laugh but its crazy you had to get an IFR to get in there. The one time I flew in there VFR, they had me doing 360s for 20 minutes and pressuring me to keep too much speed in for a proper landing.

I'm guessing you would like computerized ATC so there is no communication, only green light, direct.

I think a computerized AI system would solve a lot of problems but will require tech in the cockpit. Human ATCs will always be the backup. But in all honesty I LOVE talking to ATC.

I hangar my plane in Naples and it has become SOP to expect departure and arrival delays during the winter season. Come June and the summer heat you’ll pretty much have the place to yourself. Next time you encounter this situation just continue south a little ways and drop into Marco. You might be surprised at what you’ll find.

Yep. I get that all the time. At least once a week at APF “make right continuous 360’s” usually midfield at pattern altitude. Keeps you sharp. Great video

I have seen it go both ways. On VFR and can't land at a busy airport, so file an IFR plan and get right in. Or on IFR on radar vectors, ATC can't accomadate a different route, so cancel IFR and go VFR to do the route you want. Seems like the workload for ATC was actaully more to do the IFR plan to land in your video.

I used to always fly IFR out of South Florida airports. Saves a lot of trouble, especially getting back in to FXE, which normally is quite busy. You handled it by the book. Well done!

Yes saw that, not sure what happened there. I think he went too slow too high and went into an almost spin added power and veered left onto the trees. I’m glad the guy is ok
