Me thinks that 1/2 the cost is due to the cool hydraulic pistons/ rams.😅

Why are you out of breath? No mountain biker should be out of breath. No matter how much they exercise.

Wow, that’s actually pretty impressive. I wouldn’t mind the engagement and pawl design of an i9 hub with the silence of an onyx. I bought a 1/1 hub for the rear wheel on my girlfriend’s bike thinking that it would be quieter than a Hydra because of the lower engagement… boy was I wrong. Apparently it’s pretty well-known that even though the Hydra has a higher frequency hub noise, it’s actually a fair bit quieter overall. And the 1/1 hub is much louder but less of a constant buzz. I think if I had to do it again, I would go with the Hydra. That being said, Im definitely happy with the Onyx on my own bike.

The greatest benefit, no plastic parts to decay and break and find out you can't get replacements.

But like an F1 racing when you get the disc brakes too hot they actually become slippery like ice and then you don't break that's why it's a danger and F1 racing when the brake pads get way too hot and it makes them like ice so how does your brake pads and your bike getting too hot make you break better when heat is what causes it to act slippery

When going from 32t to 28t, do you need to remove chain links, or does the derailleur absorb the extra slack?
@elroobike
@elroobike 5 күн бұрын
You do have to remove links when going from 32t to 28t. Sram has a calculator that tells you how many links you need.

This bike is a Canyon Endurace. It seems like the trend for endurance road bike is more tire clearance than the race versions.

I have the same problem, I have blown out the bearings on my i9 hydra. Were you able to change the bearings with the service kit from industry nine by yourself, you didn't show that in the video?

I had my local shop swap out the bearings. i9 has a vid on their site showing the whole process. Looks doable.

awesome tutorial. thanks. anyone know if you can buy a smaller volume of the grease and oil? For the amount you pay it seems excessive to have so much considering the low frequency in which you need to perform maintenance on these.

Thanks for this video.Mulling this decision over now. I think another big consideration is how much you want to use the navigation for free ride, etc. Then I could see screen size mattering a little more, if you are going to be take quick glances at the map- it seems like a little bit bigger screen would help. But I truthfully don't know how much I woulduse that. The other I'll mention that I saw in another video- you can have your data screen displayed and then the map only pops up when you come near a turn, briefly - then automatically goes back to the data screen. This would be useful on the 840.

Tryin to decide on size for mine. I’m 5,4. How tall are you and do you feel the small was a good choice ? Thanks man and absolutely love the bike
@elroobike
@elroobike Ай бұрын
@blaketoner1126 - I'm 5'6" The right size for this bike really depends on a couple things, how your height is distributed between your torso and inseam, and then how you want the bike to handle. I have a short inseam and a longer torso. This bike favors folks with a longer inseam relative to their torso. I had to add a 70mm stem to my size small. I wanted a quick handling race bike. So I was willing to sacrifice a bit of stability from a slightly longer wheelbase. Long story short, I love this bike. Check out the vid I did comparing the T429 and the M4.

I just purcahsed a Kona Mahuna with a 28 tooth front chain ring and I love it! I do light dirt trails through woods, hardpack, grass and paved trail riding so it's perfect for me. What amazed me is how much more my 20212 Kona Mahuna I traded in for a brand new never ridden 2023 model BOTH felt much smoother than a new 2024 Trek X Caliber 8 hardtail. THanks for the video! I'm only two years new into mountain biking after wanting a more versatile and more comfortable riding bike than an old Giant skiinny tire hybrid I briefly owned that I didn't like. I felt every imperfection on paved paths and sidewalks with those skinny tires. Once I jumped to mountian bikes I marveld at the comfort level the fatter tires have!

Thanks for such an insightful review. I've just watched some vain chap from Wiggle do an "unboxing" and spent 10minutes talking about how he loves the labels and how he uses the tissue paper to wrap Christmas presents. I have had four pairs of Castelli Rosso Corsa bibs over the years- crashed in a couple, the others just seem to wear thin with repeated washing and the chamois looses its bounce. The Camois, is 15mm and what I like is that it is better attached than the Mille version. Also, on the Castelli, the straps are in very thin (but comfortable) fabric, which eventually perforates and frays. It's so thin, I have actually managed to poke my thumb through it in my current pair. The straps merge into a back panel which covers the lower back, making summer rides more sweaty in that area. Anyways I just wanted to treat myself to these but now I'm really quite doubtful. Thanks again.

@vu3088 - After many miles and many pair of bibs, I settled on the Giordana NX-G Bib shorts. I have two pair now and they work great for quick rides or massive all day efforts. Big bonus they come in short inseam options - great for the not tall rider.
