Did you throw the bag away to keep them from spreading? Oh that smell is horrid.

Just add your cardboard toilet rolls to your kitchen waste bin and then it's ready for the worms when you put it into the compost pile.

Everyone acts like they get rid of coffee spent grounds whenever I come through. I know a lot of people throw theirs away and could give them away. They just don't want to give to me 😞😞😞

You basically said to mix the proper amounts of browns and greens (coffee grounds) to get compost. Cardboard will do the same as wood chips.

Good video. Informative. I have an input. I make rice wine and in 50 days that wine gets ready.. I'm left with rice pulp processed by the bacteria that makes the wine . The Chinese make a cake out of that. I'm sure the worms without teeth 😁 will eat it. It's sweet and fermented. Can we experiment with that?

We have been getting chipped osage orange wood and someone said it has a chemical that retards growth (also someone else said that coffee grounds are inhibitors)? I'm going to spread them on the byways.

I use wood chips, kitchen scraps, leaves, paper shreds, and coffee grounds. When I dig up the pile in the spring, my pile is full of worms. This past spring I took compost, just made it the top layer of a raised bed where I planted and grew squash and had the best squash harvest ever.

side note for bucket searchers. If you live near a Firehouse subs they sell 5 gallon buckets with lids for $3 and the $ goes to charity. I container garden and I use their buckets for all my larger crops like tomatoes, peppers, etc. Nice buckets and excellent charity. Making a couple of these towers this weekend.

Is there a different common name for these? I’ve never heard of them, and am old…. Totally was surprised 😂 Do they taste and get used the same as the typical artichoke?

May be funny questions but I truly am curious - 1. Over winter, do people still leave things out to catch them? If so, is it a different setup or the same? 2. If I buy worms and create this to do inside, will it smell and also - lol - do they get out of the buckets? I have 2 cats and a dog so wanting to make sure I make an educated choice. 3. Do the buckets work better than digging ground to put a “trap” for lack of better words

K, You did a great job! However forgive my overthinking, can worms still go upward if they don't have anything to go through, like if there is an air gap between the different buckets? Do they use the wall of the buckets as something to cling to?

Uncle Jim is incredibly proud of his red maggots at $75 per pound. I'm converting my gourmet pork herd to red wrigglers...starting with the dead gilt! Either "Uncle Jim" is "Jackass Jim", or I should make changes to my farm model pronto! How many multi-millionaire worm farmers are there? Can anyone help with stats or data. Yep....not so many.

Got turned on to pigeon peas by AP and really enjoy them in my pea soup, I add them to the completed soup when reheating and they add a little bit of a crunch to the soup. Quick question, can I cut down the plant, cover with mulch to over winter it?

Liquid fungal cultures are created from sugar water. Why would it be different for compost tea?
@armoredpriapism3 ай бұрын
If bacteria get into fungal cultures they turn into bacterial cultures instead lol. I have often wondered about this myself; if you add sugar, bacteria are going to outcompete saprophytic fungi. It's not about whether fungi use sugar, but which organisms are advantaged more by free sugar. As the CC said, the fungi have access to more enzymes than bacteria, but the drawback to that is that their genes are larger and more numerous and hence they reproduce much more slowly. But then again, the advice I usually hear is to not let the tea brew for more than 24 hours, so maybe within that time constaint competition doesnt become an issue? idk Id like a satisfying answer to the question at the heart of this whole controversy, too.

I live in Orlando Florida and I have this vine and lots of green bullet grapes. I bought the vine about 10 or 15 years ago and planted it! It's all up in Japanese plum tree. They are ready since last month July or May be before I'm no sure because I wasn't watching it, I just happened to see them from limbs hanging low. But the vine is full. The birds enjoy them too. They're so delicious and absolutely good for you. Resveretrol is in them and other grapes too. So I didn't know that I could swallow the seeds and I use to eat the inside and spit out the rest. So, I read on line about them. So glad I planted so long ago. Enjoying them every year now. Thanks for your video! Some people never heard of them. Have a great day! Enjoy!
