My 84-yo husband has normal range thyroid numbers, but was prescribed Levo because he was complaining about being tired all the time. What say you?

I take levothyroxine for my thyroid issues. I take levothyroxine and feel like caca most of the time. I have sinus issues like huge nasal polyps and my nose runs like a sieve or its extremely dry and plugged. I take benedrils 6 times aday. I was doing flonase but it made my symptoms worse. I have tried immuno therapy but was allergic to that. Are nasal polyps associated with thyroid inflammation issues. it just seems like my body is in hyper mode from the medication. I did not have alergy issues before being diagnosed with hashimoto's.Been to the doctors many times but they just say that some people are just allergic type people. Also What do you think of dulse instead of medication?

Both my thyroids have been removed Is there a substitute for Levothyroxine???

I was taking biotin for hair. I went to the doctor for a regular check up. I did some blood work and my levels came high and the doctor said I should take meds. I felt something wrong with that I did some research and decided to ask the doctor to redo blood work before I start meds. I stopped taking biotin for one month and went back for blood work and it was normal. The doctor kept testing months apart and it is normal. That was in 2020. I recently got blood work done in 2024 and it still normal.

I was diagnosed 4 days ago. After reading and doing research on it feels like my life is f.... I quit drinking a year ago, I would binge for a month then hungover and hospitalized for a week but didnt have no health issues like this with the exception of high liver enzymes amd a few alcohol seizures. And now that i have a year this surfaces. The more i think about it the more of a death sentence it seems like, plus I cant gain weight im always between 154 lbs and 156 lbs even if i lift weights. My dace looks thin like if im on drugs. And no its not a consequence of alcohol like ignorant false ego false pride AA members say. Maybe i should go back to drinking harder than before not jk. Feels like I should start digging my own grave.

Anyone who has had their thyoid either non developed at birth like myself, or had it removed....the alternatives are not safe. Armour is not consistant enough. There are ither natural things you can do along side of Levothyroxine/ Levoxyl to help Hashimoto's. Also.... check out Medical medium and a few doctors that show that often the viruses like Epstein-Barr are part cause of the Hashimoto's. Working to detox and help unload your kidneys and liver are paramount to healing. Celery juice and rebounding ( jumping for lymph drainage) can help. Ive been doing it and feeling better, weight is starting to come off. Avoiding caffeine is important. Try organic roasted chicory instead of coffee.

Thank you. Glad I found this. This video may well be the key to solving the riddle of 4.5 years of ill health….ticked the box for all the conditions you spoke about. Going round in circles and never once diagnosed with any thyroid condition despite being treated by a haematologist and endocrinologist 2 weeks in hospital for low blood sodium after being put on a low salt diet for ‘possible’ menieres which then caused the hyponatremia. Continuing to have to monitor blood sodium. When it’s low, salt intake and electrolytes have to be upped which causes inner ear discomfort fullness and headaches. Now found I have low bone density despite years of yoga, Pilates. Have read electrolyte issues can have some connection to bone loss. Not 100% sure about this last one. My inner body buzzes like I’m plugged into an electrical socket!

How often are high thyroid antibodies misdiagnosed as Hashimoto’s when it’s actually cancer or some other disease, especially when no other hypothyroid symptoms are present?

I have celiac disease with Hashimoto with Pernicious anemia and previous history of iron deficiency and now I have iron overload which is at 54% ( no hemocromathosis) with high ferritin which is currently at 368. I still struggle with folate deficiency but lately my Babinski signs has improved and at least I can sleep without any Xanax or Gabapentin. I have noticed that my ferritin and tsh increase when I eat high glycemic foods such potatoes and rice or when some foods cross reacts and eosinophils increase. I had Alt and Ast in the non alcoholic fatty liver disease with Cushing syndrome after one year following the classical gluten free diet. Do you have any issue with Acth and Cortisol? Thanks

Interesting fact: I got Hashimoto when I stopped the birth control pill (to get pregnant) of course then I couldn’t get pregnant and I think is because of low progesterone.
@bellinhacompany63862 ай бұрын
My Hashimoto started when I stopped the pill (to try to get pregnant); I am thinking this is progesterone related. Also after having a baby, progesterone drops. After my 1st miscarriage, it took 7 years of IUI and finally IVF to get pregnant; after my 1st baby I started taking progesterone and I got pregnant again, this time naturally. I’m still trying to finish this puzzle.

I had graves disease my thyroid went crazy. I ended up having the radioactive iodine to kill off my thyroid. I was put on levothyroxine. I said a ton of weight. I have done everything to get any doctor I could to get me off of it. I have suffered for years here i am 54 I have severe osteoarthritis. My knees are bone to bone my fingers are becoming deformed. My legs ache so bad I learned that the levothyroxine ruins your bones it sucks the calcium out of your bones. I just found that out a month ago. I only have hope in Jesus as my Lord and Savior at this point.

I’m subclinical hypothyroid and was put on 25mcg of levo. Immediately felt so much better. Clear headed. Less irritable, better. Then as I continued to take it I started getting more fatigue and more sensitive to like the ac. Maybe I just don’t need it? Too much?

Take this video with a grain of salt. I hate to tell you that’s excactly how they start treating many illnesses like migraines for one. They have to start somewhere because there really isn’t a magic diagnosis for everyone. Every doctor I have read or listen to will tell you there is no one answer for everyone. Every body reacts to things differently and that’s why they start st a baseline. I’ve been on Synthroid for over 20 years and it really helped me. I went up on dose 1 time. Talk with your doctor and if they don’t listen find another.
