Owning one myself, I agree with most everything you said. I knew a front chest protector was available, yet I never put 2+2 together to know why on Earth there is a chunk of Velcro hanging in the front on the left side. I ripped a shoulder pad pulling it out of the pocket. Now I know to be careful and not rush the process and don't force the pads out. They are on the Third version now with thinner lighter pads and larger pockets. You say it fits rather tight.. You are 5'10" wearing a small and I am 5'4" and need a Large .. We are all not built the same.

This is amazing. Just came across your channel. Currently taking a course in surrey and was the only women in my late 30s with a group of all young guys....I was no where close to where they started, i thought it was meant for people who have never riden before and got.super discouraged when I wasn't picking up as fast as them. Broke down my second night but got back on the bike. Now I'm completing another 2 more nights of parking lot practice on top of practicing in a parking lot. It's been a very humbling experience and have wanted to give up because I thought it was supposed to be easier or that something was wrong with me. It's so much more then just riding to me, it's empowerment, moving from survivor to thriving, and overcoming huge fears. If I'd known I would of definitely signed up with hellariders. I won't give up!! Can't wait to feel the wind in my hair. ✨️😎

Congrats on getting out there and sticking with it! We all start somewhere and I can guarantee that nobody is great right out of the gate. There are no shortcuts to becoming a good rider. It’s just a matter of practice, practice, and more practice! But being in the right learning environment can certainly help build confidence, and that’s why I’m such an advocate of Carol’s. She also offers one-on-one training if you ever need some private coaching. Check out the Litas Vancouver group too if you’re interested in connecting with other women riders locally. There are a lot of beginner-friendly events and it’s a very supportive environment. ☺️

I purchased the Knox Urbane Pro Mk3 in July 2023. I’m a weekend warrior and I’ve put less than 40 hours of use on my jacket when the cuffs began to fray. I wrote the company directly as well as sending photos, to which they responded , that the frayed cuffs were a result of repeated abrasion from gloves, or likely wear from the Velcro closure on gloves. They said that they would not replace the jacket or refund my money. I was disappointed to say the least, particularly when “abrasion resistance“ is the company’s advertisement lead. Clearly, the material used at the cuffs is flimsy at best, and inconsistent with the durability of the rest of the jacket. I pride myself on taking meticulous care of my equipment, and for the company to suggest that the use of gloves on a motorcycle jacket caused this premature wear and damage is ridiculous and outrageous. These companies have a captive audience as well as regulatory capture to inflate their prices, and to advertise an abrasion resistant armored shirt that is now literally falling apart at the seams after less than 40 hours of use is shameful.

That’s very frustrating. I’m sorry to hear the quality didn’t meet your standards.
@Jetblackt120
@Jetblackt120 2 ай бұрын
@@MeganKaptein No, it’s not personal. It’s not that the company didn’t meet “my standards”, it’s that the company hasn’t owned up to the indefensible position that gloves caused this premature wear. They did offer to repair my jacket, but at my expense to mail it from California to England and be without a summer weight jacket in June. I asked them to send me a pair of gloves that in their estimation would not cause this damage. I’ve gotten no response. Bottom line, a $300 jacket that has worn out with a little gentle use needs to be improved upon with a better material at the cuffs. I’m retired from the military and can afford any jacket I want. The Travell family owners are putting out a faulty product and won’t stand behind it nor make even a feeble attempt at damage control. It’s the “industry standard” that prices are inflated, leaving quality control to the manufacturer. Step up and own your mistake Knox, then resolve to do better. Consumers need to hold these companies accountable.

Great video! Btw riding South East Asia is not complete without riding Indonesia, the very popular country for motorbike adventure. But you'll probably need to stay much longer as you'll have many more rides to do.

5'3" with a 30" inseam but still rides a Tenere. I am 5'6" and only have a 28.5" inseam; I would need a step stool to climb on board most "ADV" bikes! But if all these short people can do it I decided to give it a try after 50+ years as a street/highway rider. So picked up a DR650 with lowered suspension (still 33" seat height) and will give it a go. I have driven the Dempster and now need to ride it.

Hey Golnoosh I would not be too concerned with those who may seek to belittle or push you aside. Unfortunately you will always get those who think they know everything, the important thing is to do what you enjoy and enjoy the riding. Yes, mistakes may be made but that is a learning curve.

Unfortunate you didn't see any Orca you did see a Humpback spotting whales from shore is rare. Telegraph Harbor is one of the best places to take a whale watching tour to see Orca. You can go From Victoria or Steveston, chances of seeing orca are good. Or just keep your eyes open when you are on the ferries. The North Island Highway is a nice ride.
