I stepped out of my comfort zone today while at the store. The cashier was an elderly lady who said, “I finally have a Sunday off tomorrow, maybe it’s God saying I should go to church”. I had all my little kids with me and was just trying to get in and out of the store as quickly as possible, so I almost just didn’t even engage in the statement. But I’m so grateful for the Lords’ prompting to stop, ask her if she has a home church, and invite her to mine. She was so grateful, wrote down the address, and said she is planning to be there tomorrow. What if I hadn’t taken the extra two minutes to share??! 😭 We just never know what a person is facing and how a seemingly small encouragement or invitation might be just what they need. Such a great video! Thank you ladies for these wonderful reminders. ♥️

Every year, my husband plants a garden, and we always have more than we can eat, so we set up a tv tray with the excess with a sign "free". Everyone who takes it were having a problem with affording food or forgot something at the market. My husband was afraid that no one would remember him after he passes. I told him he would be remembered by those who he fed at their time of need. He suffers from depression but knowing he helped someone lifted his spirits that day.

Exactly! I do not believe in God, but I equate a wish for my betterment to saying a prayer for me. However, if it were more than a very brief comment (or someone taking my hand and saying they want to pray 'with' me), I would feel very uncomfortable. Personally, I would be more comfortable with someone simply expressing their hope that I would feel better soon. I do, however, totally support your Month of Giving, Diana, and believe that we should all incorporate that approach into our daily lives! 🥰

Once again I love your video. I worked in school food service for 25 years. Very early in my career we had a lady come work with us, subbing for someone out sick. On the second day of her being with us she came to me and said “you’re a Christian aren’t you, I can tell”. We became the best of friends and spent many, many years serving God together. I’m now approaching 71 years old and can say without a doubt her comment was the best compliment I’ve ever had.

I’m a pre op nurse and like to pray with my patients before surgery. I asked them “ do you mind if I say a prayer for you?”. Most are so appreciative. Over the years I have had a few people say no, it’s not ok. I respect that and pray silently behind the curtain for safe surgery. That’s an idea for praying with the cashier whose back was hurting; ask her first.

If someone wants to pray for me I would think I must be sicker than I realized. There were once friends who told me they'd pray for me when I did not want to go to their church with them (different religion), and I found it condescending, disrespectful. They thought I wasn't in the real church.

I work in a Pharmacy- I purposely greet each person with a smile and look into people eyes when talking to them. It’s amazing how many people are taken aback with that. I get customers who comment to me how much they love being greeted with a smile. A lot of days it’s a struggle for me because what’s going on in my life but I still strive every day to keep it up!

My husband and I are in the process of decluttering our home. We had mentioned to a friend what we are doing and was told there is a huge need for clothing in our area. So, with Dawn in mind, the donation box and Diana with the good deeds we started decluttering closets. Our mindset changed instead of holding on to things we started placing them in the boxes. It was so much easier to do once our minds changed. Thank you, ladies, together you made a difference with us.

I like the idea of reaching out to others. Yet, here is what happened to me in my neighborhood of 10 years. I was walking my dog as I do daily. When I noticed 2 children running races up and down the driveway. They stopped to notice my dog and the 5 year old began talking to me. The older sister 8 years said we are not supposed to talk to strangers! I introduced myself and said I like right up the street. The Grandmother opened an upstairs window and yelled at the kids to get in the house!!! They did and I felt like a criminal. Sad thing about it I am 63 and just finished a full week helping at vacation Bible school. I am also a tutor for children with special needs. I think Stranger Danger has gone too far. 😢

I'm writing that prayer down! I was working at Kohl's at Christmas time. One customer came through my line and looked very sad. Come to find out she had just lost a family member *very* recently (like a few days before?) I leaned toward her and asked is she was a believer? She said yes. I then asked if I could pray for her - yes again! I don't even remember what I said when I prayed for her, but I hope she felt better, or as Dawn said, "Seen and heard"

You can always pray AFTER leaving the person at the counter. My husband and I never picked up hitchhikers but we always would pray that the Lord would find them the “right” ride. He also prayed every time he heard any type of emergency siren, ambulance, police, fire, for all the emergency workers and the people involved in the emergency situation. Now that he is with the Lord, I take on the same prayers, I even pray for turtles crossing the road.😢😊❤️

Hmmmm, if everyone thought as you did, chances are these individuals had a long walk ahead of them. I understand your concern about picking up strangers, but I feel as though you are passing up an opportunity to help someone and expecting someone else to do it instead. Who is the 'right' ride? 🙁

First, I did think you were pregnant and you are glowing, second I’m a single mom and on workshare which means less hours because our company is not doing well so I’ve been the trying to make extra money, flipping goodwill, fines. Resulting in me being short on time and money. But I loved your giving week so I kept looking around trying to find ways I could be helpful just payed more attention to people around me. I saw a young woman trying to get something off the top shelf at the grocery store. She was petite and could not reach. She seem to be contemplating climbing a shelf when I approached and offered to retrieve the item for her she seem so happy which made me happy. Also I was at a local sandwich shop and a fun 80s song came on over there speakers I noticed a man who just walked in and started dancing to it so I started dancing and then all of a sudden the whole line was dancing, and everyone was having fun. A woman took out her phone and said dance party at the sandwich shop, I noticed that the workers were still making everyone sandwiches, but now they had smiles on their face when before they just seem stressed. Because prior to dancing everyone was standing in line with their arms folded staring at them, it was such a tiny thing, but so fun I left glowing. Thank you for the giving inspiration!

I love that statement…”So what, worse case scenario, she felt seen and heard?” That is a great thought!! So often these days, people come across as having up walls and maybe even being cold to people. Whether it be due to personal issues, past hurts, fears, etc. ?? I want to talk to people, smile at people, help people, but so many today give a feeling of “You stay over there…and leave be alone!” I LOVE this thought though!! I may try to keep that statement in mind in the future! ❤️

I love this so much! Several years ago a friend told me about how her mom would tell servers at restaurants "We're going to pray a blessing for our food. Is there anything we can pray for you?" I decided I can do that. We don't eat out a lot, but as a homeschooling mom, so many of our interactions are very short, such as cashiers and delivery drivers. I started to ask "how can I pray for you today?" and it has been such a growing experience for me. People are usually surprised & often don't have anything specific, but sometimes they do. Once I had a woman deliver a package to my house, and when I asked, her face crumbled. She had just lost a family member and was struggling to get through the day. I ended up hugging her and praying with her in my driveway. It's taken me out of my comfort zone but it's so worth it. So often people are going through things and need to know someone cares. I love your encouragement to do something every day, and the idea that people could be excited to be around Christians because we shine with our Father's love! May we be salty, and may we glow!💞

Pray silently to so that people can have a peaceful day. Thank you Diana !!

I just did a random act of kindness today after watching your videos. A girl ahead of me in the grocery store line had her card declined, and she also didn't have enough cash to pay, so they canceled her transaction while she walked away to call her mom about how she was gonna pay. As the cashier rang up my stuff I watched her talking on the phone to her mom and crying probably embarrassed and also distraught in how she was gonna pay. I saw the receipt set off to the side and I felt the Lord say....pay for her groceries. So I leaned in to ask the cashier how much her bill was. $54.00. To be honest I was hoping it was gonna be like $20 or something. But never the less, I said I would like to pay her bill. The cashier was like, "ok are you sure?" "Yes." So I quickly paid for mine and hers and bagged up my stuff and walked past her. I just smiled. I didn't want to tell her and just let it be a blessing from the Lord. As I drove away I saw her walking out. I hope it blessed her today. Also you were taking about going out to help outfit and your shoes, I want to know where the joggers are from, so cute! Link please?

I enjoyed this and need to hear your reminders. I have always loved and enjoyed talking with people and doing what I could to bring a smile or a word of encouragement. I remember when my dad was alive he and my husband would jokingly tease me about how much I talk. I would talk to anyone, anytime about anything. One day when I was having lunch at a restaurant with my dad a lady sat next to us. I said something to her to strike up a conversation and we talked and laughed while we ate. When she got up to leave she thanked me. She said that her morning had started out bad and she was having a bad day and our conversation had lifted her spirits. I still enjoy talking with people and hopefully making them feel better when we walk away from each other than when we first met. BUT, I have lost some of this during the past 5+ years. I've been ... changed. More serious. We had a dramatic change in our life and I'm not proud to say it has made me less trusting. But honestly Diana your reminder last month made me remember that no matter what we all need to be noticed and to be treated with kindness. So I have struck up more conversations. Listened to what others say. I try to make people feel better and to know they are valuable. Thank you!!

I think one thing I have done is to say- that must be hard- do you mind if I pray I pray for you as I go through my day?" That way if they are uncomfortable with praying "with" you, they will still be made aware you are praying for them. And if they are comfortable, they will let you know and you can pray aloud with them in the moment. I think, actually, that if I know someone is praying for me all through the day (or put on a list where I will be prayed for over time) it means more than the prayer just said in the moment. YMMV

Thank you so much you too for your ecouragement. I especially liked the part about the salt of the earth. And yes, how cool would it be, if we as christians actually lived in a salty way, caring for the lonely, visiting the grieving, providing the needy. It was a huge relief to me, hearing you say, that the time commitment was so small. As a working mom, I often disqualify myself from doing anything, because I tell myself "I don't have time for that." I will give it another try and find small things to do every day to be a blessing.

Hi Diana, thanks for your video. We just returned from 41 days walking the Camino de Santiago from southern France across northern Spain. We carried everything we needed for the 500-mile journey in our backpacks. It was incredible to meet people from all over the world who had made their way to this area of the world to walk "the way" for a multitude of reasons. Despite the diversity, there was something common among us as people who had been strangers would become friends and trusted confidants in a single conversation. As we walked we would softly say to the pilgrims we passed, "Buen Camino" or "good path"...basically wishing each person well on their very personal journey. The realization of how little we actually needed to live, the time to reflect and appreciate the beauty of God's creations and the unique opportunity to connect deeply with so many people was life-changing. It reaffirmed my minimalist journey and the need we have as humans to connect with and support each other. Thank you both for your positive influence in the world! Buen Camino!

This is kind of like what you told, Diana, but it is kind of the opposite... I just felt that I should share this: I used to do a Bible study with 3-4 other women from my church. One night, we were ending for the evening, standing in a circle getting ready for our closing prayer. Unexpectedly, somebody knocked on the door. This woman, that we didn't know, asked if we were praying and asked if we would praye for her daughter. She had been missing for a few days and this woman was just driving all over our little town when she saw us in a circle, holding hands and thought we might be praying. She wanted us to pray for her daughter, too. Well, of course, we brought her in and prayed for her and her daughter. It was an honor to do so!! (I don't know if the daughter was found.)

My Church teaches and I really believe as well that we should mourn with those who mourn and comfort those who stand in need of comfort. And also always stand for Christ. 🙏

I've missed many opportunities, but the other day at the grocery store, the lady who was bagging groceries was sharing about her lower back pain, and on the way out, the Lord gave me the courage to pray for her to be healed in Jesus's name. 🙏❤. Also, when we do miss opportunities, we can still pray and the Lord can still work even if we are not there with the person.

Someone prayed for me & my husband (it was my client, she got dressed after her wax and asked if she could pray for my husband to find a stable job, bc she has been there) After that my life had some interesting series of events and demonic oppression which led me to cry out to Jesus when I didn’t even believe in Him, I believed in “a” God. I was totally accepting of her praying for us.

Love you both!! Happy Father's Day to your wonderful Father and Hubbies!! Diana, I wonder if you could follow up and see if the lady with the aching back is working again, and just ask her how she's doing? Maybe let her know that she's been on your heart and that you've prayed for her. I got a bagel and water for a cashier who was pregnant and said she was hungry and hadn't had a break to get something to eat. She was so surprised and teary when I returned with a little something for her to eat and drink. 💗🤗❤ Love you!! ✝️☺️

Diana, Is there anyway you could share your Indian Recipes? I love Indian food ( not that I have had a lot) and I just can't seem to get the spices right, or even know what spices I should be using. Combination, etc. If you have an tips or resources that would be great. THank you for this message of encouragement to "be encouragers". I am an introvert, and I have been working on reaching out more to others. I know that is what the Lord would want me to do. I like your calendar idea and really making a focus of reaching out for the month. Bless you! And you do look amazing! Keep doing what you are doing. I know you are a blessing to many.
