So if I intend to buy a 2022 Tesla Y Long Range that has 40,000 miles now and I want to do 30,000 miles per year, I don't have to worry until at least 300,000 miles? Is that right? I'm good for 8 years without any battery or engine problems.

Thanks for the video! Not a lot of Canadians doing videos of winter driving. Just curious how the vehicle handles going uphill in slippery conditions? I'm from BC and there are a couple of steep hills on my daily route.

I had my SR+ for close to 3 years (3 winters) and only slipped once. I got better winter tires and never happened again.

I just picked up a 21 standard plus for a daily car and it’s shocking quick. Not so much from a dig, but 30+ roll it isn’t like any other car, the instant torque is fun and never gets old, not to mention I got it for a STEAL!

Unlikely. Loved my SR+. I do love my extra KMs I get with my new Performance but I’m never afraid to recommend the SR.

One important step I do when changing between summer and winter tires is to check all the tires I'm removing for nails or screws. I then have several months to get the tire repaired or replaced before it gets put back on.

Thanks for a good DIY Winter Change over video TCD! Another TIP for you and your viewers... It is a good idea to check/re-torque the lug nuts after about 100 miles 160 Kilometers.

3:40 This is not entirely accurate... It's $5-7,000 for a battery "module" not an entire battery "pack" You'll need like 6 modules for a full battery pack.

Can you say more about the tires and rims? Where did you get them, etc. I have a model y long range on order and in Saskatchewan. Worried about winter driving. Coming from a Prius and have been using Nokia WRG all weather tires for a long time. Winter rated and used all year long. They’re not available for the Tesla 19” size. I hate having to change wheels twice a year but I’m guessing I’ll have to.

It's good to see you making videos again! I have the 2020 SR+ in Montreal. It has the performance rear motor, 0-60 in 5 sec, that's enough in the city. I just love it! No range issues, no handling issues even in the snow, FSD Beta is so much fun. No heated steering wheel is a bummer, so I cover the steering wheel with alcantara during the winter, and I remove it in the summer. In Quebec, with the $12k government rebate, the standard range Model 3 is a no-brainer.
@TeslaCanadianDad

100%. It’s crazy not all new car owners buy SR+ in Quebec. The savings are insane. I loved my SR+. Like I said. I would recommended it to anyone. It’s a great car. And yes no street cars (none racing) need to be this fast lol. O-60 in 3.1 seconds. Lol. It’s fun but not needed. FSD is getting better and better. Took me a bit of time getting use to the new highway update last week but starting to understand it’s behaviour.

Another great video Mike! I’m glad you’re enjoying your performance m3. I still have my 2018 long range M3 RWD and still happy with it. Zero maintenance so far except had to buy new rear tires lol but now switched to chill mode so hopefully they won’t wear out as fast. How are your tires holding up with all of that performance acceleration?

Hey Rob. Been a while. That’s my fault. Haven’t made a video in a while. Love that your still loving you 2018. I’ll let you know about my tires. Still have the winters on for now. About to switch to the summers in the next week or so. Hopefully I didn’t tear them to to much lol. As always thanks so much for the awesome kind words.

In real life I hardly ever do kick down 0-60 kinda driving. The 30-75 is a "daily" activity and after testing all versions of model 3 I really can`t find any real argument of getting the performance version, not even the LR. I bought the 2021 SR+ and enjoy thinking how much money I did not have to spend to get a car able to go this fast. 18 inch is also the best choiche of wheels for everyday driving. They give sporty handling but still you have comfort and less noise.

I wish there was a way to force the PIN to drive if I quickly have to get out of the car if I had a gun pointed at me. I experimented on the road and after putting the car in park and opening and closing the door, it didn't trigger it. 😑 Update: I had to get out of the seat to trigger the PIN to drive. Tesla seems to use the seat sensor.

@@TeslaCanadianDad Sadly, I've been practicing what to do if car jacked at gun point since it happened near our home. I was thinking I could quickly press the park button before getting out and set valet mode and speed limit mode via the app while running away. While rehearsing, I had PIN to drive enabled and they wouldn't be able to drive the car since a PIN is required. In that case, I need to run as fast as I can so that in case they're pissed and start shooting at me.

Our 2015 model S has 238,000 miles on the clock and we had the battery replaced under warranty at 220,000 miles, the cost for replacing the battery would of been £16,000 from Tesla.
