Here's my take: Terraria is better than Minecraft content wise, with plenty bosses, progression and building potential. However modded minecraft is better than modded terraria, since mods can add everything minecraft lacked and more, taking the game goals in incredible various directions, while terraria mods only build upon what's already established.

Also that’s the thing about Minecraft it’s so easy to know what to do. Let’s take an example I want Luminite, how do I get it, well, first you need to kill the moon lord which happens to be like the hardest boss in a 2d rpg, first destroy the four Celestial Pillars (Solar, Nebula, Vortex, and Stardust) during the Lunar Event, The Lunar Event can be triggered by defeating the Lunatic Cultist, a boss that can be found in the Dungeon after defeating Golem. Once you defeat all celestial pillars ( each one having 20,000 health) only then can you fight the moon lord. And after all that effort, get this, you get 17-25 bars of luminite…………

I agree, the progression in terraria is way better than in minecraft, but minecraft isn't a game that has it main objective to beat the game, its a sandbox for you to create whatever is on your mind, I mean, in terraria when you beat the moonlord there is nothing more for you to do really, but in minecraft beating the ender dragon is optional you don't need to beat it, minecraft progression isn't necessary for you to enjoy the game, thats why terraria ain't as sucessful as minecraft, but yeah terraria peogression is great

Minecraft is the game you play when you wanna fuck around with your friends and got nothing else to do, Terraria is a game you want to play to have a fun yet challenging experience. Terraria is just plain better. I also feel like the replay value is a key aspect here, once you beat minecraft there really isnt anything else to do, where as in terraria, you can play around with 4 main classes (and more subclasses) and beat the game like that

and even then, multiplayer is pretty much equal if not better than minecraft. yeah you can have good pvp in minecraft and build shit but... terraria has that. give it not as good but it also has the experience of just progressing which is already MUCH more fun. bosses ESPECIALLY. yeah the ender dragon can be fun but also... terrarias first boss, eye of cthulu/king slime is literally more fun ALONE than minecraft multiplayer bosses. and as you know, the bosses get MUCH more fun. and even with that, there are different terraria classes in which you have to get different gear for each. you both have different but similar enough experiences for it to be fun while also helping each other with a vital role in each boss. exploring is also much more fun together in terraria because theres better music to listen to, theres better biomes and enemies which can actually pose threats in the mid-late game from hardmode making enemies harder, and WORMHOLE POTIONSSSS. teleporting to friends makes it just so much better. and yes i know terraria pvp is dogshit and shouldnt have been added. and yes building in minecraft usually looks better because its 3d but still terraria can build a lot of stuff. theres like 50 unique toilets...
