How hard is it to find work in Bilbao speaking Spanish and English only?
@SuzkoSuge5 күн бұрын
Basque Country is a cultural term which includes Nafarroa/Navarra and Iparralde (Northern Basque Country/Pays Basque). Yes, Bilbao is the biggest city, economically the most important and capital of Bizkaia, one of the provinces. Vitoria-Gasteiz is the administrative capital of the "Basque Autonomous Community", an administrative entity inside Spain. Pamplona-Iruñea is the Historic capital of the whole *Basque Country* as such and will be the capital city when we get our independence. I'm sick of the use of our nation's name for marketing purposes leaving half of the nation out. Gora Euskal Herria Askatuta. Gure eguna iritsiko da.

As an American with some Portuguese ancestry that has visited multiple times and watched dozens of Portugal videos, your’s was informative and full of information. Portuguese is not an easy language to learn and pronounce properly (saw the other comments), but I understood what you said and appreciate how much you covered in this short video. Your videos/photos (full screen view) were quality and better than most other KZbinrs. Thank you for covering one of my favorite cities.

Los precios de la vivienda no son mas altos que Madrid o Barcelona, especialmente si se cuenta todo el area del "gran Bilbao" que es realmente el conglomerado urbano. con unos 800000 habitantes ( a room must copst 350/400 to 500 € )
@txipiron15 күн бұрын
not the capital of basque country. if you talk about oficial capital of basque country on Spain autonomies is Gasteiz ( Vitoria) and to all Euskal Herria ( including french basque country and navarra, must be <Iruña ( Pamplona)

I thought Basque Country was Independent of France and Spain. Since it appears that all of Iberia was originally the Basques, Why do they not have their own designated area? It's the 21st Century, and Spain has had its era of Monarchies and Dictatorships. Simply thinking out loud, it is not my business, I'm an American, Irish American, and I've yet to visit the area, but really desire to do just that. Intriguing People and would live to learn more about the Basque and their History, since Basque/Iberian is part of my DNA. Yep, Rh(-) too.

I once asked an old boy in a pub if he'd lived in Glasgow his whole life. He shook his head, said "Naw, no' yet pal", and drained his pint. I bought him a refill, obviously.

Bilbao is awesome. A city that has a bust of John Adams downtown is cool with me (great historical story). To me it feels like Portland, Oregon... a lot of character.

As of 2024, Barcelona is the most expensive place in Spain to rent an apartment, by a considerable amount in terms of price per square meter. I've been contemplating a move from Barcelona to Bilbao and this was the first thing I noted. Costs for other things - food, utilities, transportation, etc. - is comparable. Obviously your heating costs will be higher than in Barcelona, but you pay more for air conditioning in Barcelona. So it sort of evens out.

We had a vacation in Luxembourg recently and fell in love with the country. Would be coming back more often before we decide on anything yet. Btw if we speak French and German, would it be easy to find a job as a nurse or in the construction? And would it actually pay enough? Also is it also an idea to live in Belgium or France and work there?

Finding a job isn’t difficult - use the recruitment companies. Make sure you are married because otherwise half your salary is confiscated by the tax man - they don’t want singles here.

I just returned from visiting both Bilbao and San Sebastián. Very different cities and experiences. The beauty of San Sebastián was mind blowing. Being a life long admirer of Eduardo Chillida and seeing his foundation, just a few minutes outside of San Sebastián, was nothing less than a spiritual experience. Don't miss visiting this area.

Luxembourg is not for everyone. For many of us it's far from boring... So many Spaniards in the Grand-Duchy because of better pay and conditions. And it's also a clean and safe country.

For the past weeks, I'm not sure how there's a surge of Lux videos on my feed. All were encouraging to the point I told my bf that we should try looking for a Lux job. And being the richest country in EU, I'm aware of the hight cost of living. But thanks to your video, I got more insights of actual Lux living. Now it's making me think twice. Yes, we are looking for a better career opportunity. But we're also looking for a great place to live in. I easily get bored, so not enough places and events to go to is a big no. I don't want my bf to blame me for recommending boring and expensive country. Don't want to be part of that divorce rate either. 🥹 So, again, thanks for the heads up! Thanks to algorithm as well 😅

Find a place out of the city, Sandweiller, niedanvan or even Bereldange, public transport is really good, so living out of the city is no problem, if you’ve got a car, like any city, parking is a true pain. Remember there is one heck of a lot of cross border workers, from France, Germany and Belgium so driving at commuter times is mental....get the bus or train.....when I lived there I purchased a scooter just to get in the city, parking for motorbikes is free😂🥳 and lots of bike only spaces too. There are Aldi supermarkets and really expensive ones too, the ones that each Saturday the locals and top earners like to dress up and prove to the rest that they exist😳😫😫😫 If you fly into Lux, don’t get a taxi from the airport, use the bus, it’s only a 15 min journey to the centre city and is way way cheaper. When the new airport terminal was constructed it was planned to have a train link to the city but the taxi union blocked it😳😖😖😖 a lot of local hotels have a link service too, which is free, just ask.... There’s even a dedicated British shop, on the outskirts of the city, expensive but good. Try out the Grund, for an evening out, the Britannia pub, obviously British, maybe not bobs, brilliant food, on the American theme and the irish pub, locally called the Pyg, short for Pygmalion...and of course Scott’s bar... Be prepared for a fun night 🥰😂
