I had a woman chase me out of her store because I offered a fair price for what were obviously fake Ralph Lauren polo shirts. She kept insisting they were real. Yeah, like RL is going to distribute polo shirts to some fleabag market. Not. On another note, no way would I use a credit card in those shops. I paid cash for everything.

I've just spent 8 months in China. Nowhere excepted Visa/MasterCard etc, it was all Ali pay, WeChat pay etc. Most accept cash, and big bank ATM machines accept visa cards to withdraw money. It's a pain, as several years ago, Visa, MasterCard, American express were all accepted. It's definitely not as easy as it used to be for the foreign traveler.

I have been considering moving to China for pursuing masters and doctorate in law and eventually settling down there but I have been told by some people on internet that china is not safe and specially for Indians and Chinese govt is corrupt it doesn't help foreigners when any problem arises and china also engages in organ trading so it is more unsafe and the real crime rate is not known the world and hidden infact so I really wanted to know the reality of it as to how is safe it is for kids and family for women specially and should I plan on settling down in China and if yes what about the degree that I am pursuing will I able to get job easily after this degree from Chinese University. Please reply
