New age of people - they shop for the price . I’m 67 and have two Harley and my dog was called Harlee , I see more rider in my age group 55 / 75 riding Asian bikes today and it does kill me but I understand . It was like the chopper 45 / 80k and if you can sell one maybe 8/10k , it happens to me . I feel for Harley , they need to study the market ASAP before it’s too late. 😢

Started on a2005 1200 when I could finally afford one. Riofe it for 15 years and loved it. A $16 sporty..., not gonna happen. My 2005 Dyna still putting smiles on my face. Your take is right on.

Hey GixxerFoo, nice video...makes a lot of sense. It is too bad about the Sportster. That was the bike I started on because I could afford it. And by the time I upgraded to Stage Two, nimble as it was, really rocked in the canyons! S & S, in my opinion, always ruled for the aftermarket. Still miss the Evo's though!

It's the price! I got my 2000 honda shadow ace for 2g 3 years ago. I'm looking at a few older softail customs and heritage's . But up here in Canada there anywhere from 8 to 15g for early to mid 2000😬 arg and then spend another 5 g to get it where you want it. Had a chance to get a 2004 Vrod for 5g.......I really wish I would of bought it

Own 2 Harleys. Their reliability for some, is questionable, and the company doesn't care. I know people moving to Indians and I understand why.

Have to pay a ridiculous price and spend extra $$ to get it the way you want . These new models lack the character of the old iron. Yes, they need to keep up with the times , but we dont have to buy them . Never a fan of the MOCO , the bikes , yes.

Nothing kept me loyal to HD. One test ride on a BMW 1250 GS, later a 1250 RT, and the primitive ride of a 2018 Softail no longer appealed to me, as an older, wiser rider. Dealership fees for an oil change were ridiculous in price, parts too. Let the Harley go. Don't miss it, at all. Last straw was HD getting called out for going WOKE and DEI as well as transgender garbage. CEO and Board are out of touch with their customer base.

You are oversimplifying the dealer network…over 600 stores, lots of different types of owners and experiences out there. Some corporate owners will run circles around single point dealers on customer service, and some mom and pop stores are world class for any industry. Don’t assume that just because a dealer has a certain owner, that you are going to get a certain experience. Also, also….I would challenge you to ride an 883 and a new nightster back to back. You will quickly understand why the new one is better. Also, also, also 😂 - I have a 24 CVO SG, and it is amazing. I have had 15 HD’s over the years, and it is by far the best bike I have ever had. Please don’t tell me that the old stuff is “more better” because the new stuff somehow has lost it’s “HD-ness”. You should really go ride this stuff so you can understand it. Just got back from Sturgis. The bike is a beast!

i believe that in the future all that'll be left of Harley is aftermarket frankenstein bikes. S&S engines, aftermarket frames, top of the line suspension components, and a maybe bunch of spare parts from either Harley-Davidson itself or aftermarket companies entirely.

I bought my first motorcycle in 1964. From then until 1983 I went through several different bikes, none of them Harleys but always wanted a Harley. From 1983 until 2021 I did not ride. Then, I went into a Harley dealer in April of 2021 and fell in love with a FXST sitting on the showroom floor. Bought it. Now, Fast forward until today, I have ridden it 26,000+ miles and couldn't be pried off of it. I love it!! I'm on it every nice evening and enjoying the wind in my face again. As you may have noticed by the dates mentioned, I'm up there in years (84 of them to be exact) but not letting that get in my way of enjoying a Harley. I always heard Harleys have a soul. They do!!!

HD has lost it's core buyers. Let's face it, a HD is a luxury item that the average buyer can't afford and the younger generation could care less.

I know I'm going to piss some people off by saying americans have been believing for far too long that the entire world revolves around them, but in reality, that never was the case. Harley has pretty much sucked all it can out of americans, and it's shifting it's focus on a more lucrative overseas market. The truth is, america has most of the rest of the world pissed at it, so in the interest of business, Harley is trying to distance itself from.america by putting a eurodickhead at the helm instead of an american to project a better image to overseas markets. Harley, like the govt, never cared about you, try just saw you as cows to be milked, and Zits isn't going anywhere. Get used to being second and third class citizens even in your own country, and nobody giving a shit what you want or like.

After many ,reliable Japs I got a Evo Sportster, was very impressed. Then decided to get 'modern' Harley, namely a 2008 Street Bob 96.This is despite all the warnings about the Dyna motor.Years later ,with just servicing ,I have had no problems.

Personally I choose to go with the older Harley’s as there is still a vast amount of aftermarket parts and anything that’s 92 and older you can literally find anything for and customize to your needs vs the newer bikes.

I'm lamenting the loss of the Evo Sportsters. Sure, they ride rough and it's fair to say they had a limited mission. Currently on a 2019 114 Heritage. The bike has run flawlessly and literally is a Swiss Army knife. BUT, I had more fun and thrills while on my Sportsters. Not to mention a Sporty's ease of service and maintenance. I could service my Sportsters blindfolded. The Sporty arguably has one of the largest aftermarkets out there. Not into the RevMax bikes. Rode them, superior in many ways, but they were exciting as a toaster.

A major part of Harley problems have been within and the EPA. For years they have been slamming HD. Imports were given low low tariffs and it was authorized by the US govt. When Harley tried to sell abroad for many many years they were blocked from sales. What did our govt do? Nothing. When harley was finally allowed entry into many countries they raised the tariff so high that they were unaffordable. They also put limits on CCs in other countries which again eliminated sales. No my friends Harley is being decimated from within.

HD has lost the Mechanical look and most riders of HD love that. Dumping the REAL sporster was a huge mistake. I think we are witnessing the downsizing and possibly the fall of HD.

I’m not a Harley owner but have entertained the idea of owning one. I know everyone is up in the air about Harley going woke but before you jump ship you need to investigate any brand you are considering buying. You’re probably going to find they have some level of wokeness as well. Harley does need to take a look in the mirror and decide if charging an astronomical price for these bikes is a wise decision and teching these bikes to the point where they have completely lost the Harley identity. If I were to buy a bike these days new it would probably be an Indian Springfield. It just has that classic Indian vibe. Another is the Triumph Bonneville a bike even smaller than a Sportster but absolutely sounds awesome with aftermarket exhaust.
