Ich bewundere Sandberg und unser damaliger Bassist (ca 20 Jahre her, da wart ihr noch in Wolfsburg Mörse) hatte einen von euch mit dieser einzigartigen Form und allerhöchste Instrumentenbaukunst. Leider macht euch das nicht zu Herrschern über Physik und Akustik. Es ist wie so oft mit Koryphäen in allerlei Bereichen, meistens sind es aber berühmte Gitarristen, die von Tonholz und den verschiedenen Klängen erzählen und wenn dann jemand unbekanntes kommt, der sich aber mit Physik, Elektrotechnik u d Akkustik auskennt und es darüberhinaus in KZbin Videos beweist, dann zählt trotzdem die „Meinung“ mehr als Fakten und es wird ja auch seit Jahrzehnten von allen möglichen Leuten kolportiert. Die Wahrheit ist aber, dass keiner und auch ihr nicht den Klang von euren Bässen gegen andere, von mir aus auch billigere Bässe, im Blindtest raushören kann. Was ihr hört, bei der Aufnahme oder ausreichender Lautstärke als live Situation ist der PICKUP- selbst die Saite macht nichts aus. Warum sagt man nicht die Wahrheit, dass es auf Aussehen und Feeling ankommt. Das gilt explizit und exklusiv für E Bässe und Gitarren. Bei akustischen Instrumenten ist es was ganz anderes. Nun lasse den Shitstorm beginnen… Ps: außer bei Fretless liegt die Saite auf Nickel oder Edelstahl Stäbchen.

These are the best basses I've ever played. The craftsmanship is remarkable. It's a shame, I preferred the old shape. Smaller and sexier than the Jazz Bass while still keeping the Jazz Bass shape.

Das die 4 Dots kein Inlay sind sondern ne Folie - die ja klasse zu funktionieren scheint - ist irgendwie ne Enttäuschung. Hab das Video wirklich nur geschaut um zu sehen wie Ihr die einbaut.

Schön anzusehen, wie so ein Teil entsteht. Ich versteh aber eins nicht: warum bietet Sandberg immer nur das eine Standard-Halsprofil an? Ich kann mit meinen Pranken nur die 5-Saiter spielen, 4-Saiter sind mir einfach "zuwenig in der Hand". Das kann doch bei dem Produktionsprozess kein Problem sein, ein paar andere Profile anzubieten? Oder werden diese Ahorn-Kanthölzer aus denen die Hälse gemacht werden, bereits zugeschnitten en-gros eingekauft? Mir fiel das ja auch schon bei anderen Herstellern (z.B. Düsenberg, ESP) auf, dass es nur ein Einheits-Profil gibt. Die CNC auf ein fettes U-Profil einstellen sollte ja kein Auftrag sein. Bei all den Möglichkeiten, die der Konfigurator bietet, wären 2-3 verschiedene Halsprofile schon gut.

I very recently bought a used California TM 5 string. Very nice recorded sound, best word to describe it would be "authoritative". Has a funny quality - even if timing on the note is wrong, it sounds like it was meant to be there :)

I bought one, it is amazing. Looks great, sounds great. Build quality is far beyond any USA bass that I have ever laid my hands on. It reminds me of my Japanese wolfgang with regards to build quality.
