I now see how challenging is to learn swimming techniques, especially if you had little experience with water for whatever reason. Same as learning jazz dance or tango after not dancing your entire life. Or taekwondo, judo for that matter. I should be grateful for learning my strokes in childhood more or less easily. Because body and muscle memory have to adapt to movements.

Absolutely, learning any new physical skill as an adult comes with its own set of challenges, especially if you didn't have the opportunity to develop those skills earlier in life. It's wonderful that you're able to appreciate the learning process from a new perspective. Our bodies are incredibly adaptable, though, and with patience and practice, you can definitely improve and refine your swimming techniques. Keep up the dedication, and you'll continue to see progress over time! 🏊♂️

I’m watching from Türkiye and I have hydrophobia but I’m feeling if i had a teacher like you i would overcome hydrophobia 😊
@RocketSwimming7 ай бұрын
Overcoming hydrophobia is a significant step, and having the right guidance can make all the difference. Remember, it’s okay to take small steps and go at your own pace. Celebrate every little victory, and know that with each session, you’re moving closer to conquering your fear. You can do it, and I’m here to support you on this journey!

He used flipper in first lessons. Should we use as beginner and focus our style or we should learn by without any helper as flipper. The reason why I'm asking, when i watch your videos I felt a bit sad, Im getting also lessons and Im adult as him. I couldnt swim by kick alone 5 metres. My legs are going down as him in this video. But when i watch his first and second video, he could go very well. I think flipper is game changer in that case. I wonder your opinion. Thanks in advance and Hello from Türkiye !

Thanks for your question. It's great to hear that you're learning to swim and watching my videos. I think a good approach is to start with flippers to get comfortable in the water and learn basic strokes. Once you feel more confident, try practicing without them to develop your natural kicking power and body position. Flippers can definitely be a helpful tool for beginners, especially if you're struggling with kicking or staying afloat. Remember, everyone learns at their own pace. Don't get discouraged if you're not as fast or as skilled as someone else. Just keep practicing and having fun!

I've been binging your videos man, I'm trying to get better at swimming before my lifeguard tryouts. I'm trying not to rush progress, but I tried swimming front crawl without the kickboard today, and I couldn't do the technique as well as I did with the kickboard. I think I sank? But I thought I had air in my lungs. I don't quite remember what happened but I got no where, that's for sure. Maybe I should try breaststroke instead.

Are deeper kicks ok or it's supposed to be a flutter kicks close to the surface
@RocketSwimming4 ай бұрын
Great question! Generally, flutter kicks should be close to the surface to maintain a streamlined position and minimize drag. Deeper kicks can disrupt your body position and slow you down. Focus on keeping those kicks near the surface for better efficiency. But kick from your hips to generate more power.

Ok so the bigger the kick the better balance
@RocketSwimming4 ай бұрын
Yes! But not always. Sometime smaller kicks help too. Just make sure to not kick from your knees.
