It's a tribute car, not built to full Pro Stock spec. I would like to put a stick in it someday down the line.

@@moparnick I know it’s tribute car. It’s sweet. Look up national nostalgia pro stock association. I know the owner. I have a pro stock duster from 1972. Petty enterprises built it

I would rebuild the 1958 Plymouth Beldevere with customized reinforcement to the cabin, floor, doors, pillars, panels and roof. Then substitute the straight steering column with a Mopar compatible safety steering system. Add disc power brakes, seat belts and air bags (all Mopar).. The result will be an all Mopar safety equipped classic with higher value and durability.

Junkyard finds and expensive restorations show that Plymouth Beldevere and Fury were well appreciated classic cars on their prime. Movie from novel Christine made the 1958 Beldevere a most wanted classic to restore.

Hmm...open headers, no exhaust will make any motor sound nasty. A 318 isn't badass. I had one in a '68 Monaco. Good little motor but not badass. Gimme a 340 or even a 360 if we're talking small blocks.
@moparnick
@moparnick 3 ай бұрын
Actually you're wrong, stock 318 with no exhaust will sound like shit. This is not a stock 318. This has a lot of compression and a lot of cam far from stock.

Very cool insight to see your dusters first start. Kicked right over. The dusty duster is one straight faced ass kicker. That fireball cam. Big double pumper. Maybe glasspacs. Either way you set it. The duster is king.
