NASTY Mopar 318! Stock Bore!

That is one NASTY sounding mopar small block. That 318 sounds like it would rip a mustangs heart out and take a bite out of it!! Beautiful car great looking and sounding engine too! Nice work.

I walked into my buddy shop one day and I said Pete what's the best engine ever built and he said a 318. the man's worked on Mercedes and everything else Under the Sun for over 60 years Pete loved Fords and Mercedes Pete was a mechanic mechanic he is gone now

How is the torque on this cam? also what springs are you running? I have the Pro Comp/speedmaster aluminum heads with dual valve springs. Sweet sounding car

Stock bore stock stroke 318, nothing special heads 1.60 1.88 valves. Old Offy. Split single plane intake with a 600 double pumper, Doug's D453 headers, direct connection 292 hydraulic flat tap it purple shaft. With a 3.23 gear the car went 14.47 at 98. Motor might make 325 horse.

@@moparnick ok cool , im just putting my 318 back together , got 11/1 comp , 1.98 valve , ported '302' heads , roller cam ect , should be 400hp , i will let you know how she goes

Not 100% sure, has stock 318 flat tops and shaved cylinder heads my guess is just under 10 to 1

Hmm...open headers, no exhaust will make any motor sound nasty. A 318 isn't badass. I had one in a '68 Monaco. Good little motor but not badass. Gimme a 340 or even a 360 if we're talking small blocks.

Actually you're wrong, stock 318 with no exhaust will sound like shit. This is not a stock 318. This has a lot of compression and a lot of cam far from stock.
