Let us not neglect the fact that social media platforms are lowering the attention span of many with their 5 to 15 minute videos and reels. Kids are most venerable for this. ADD and ADHD are on the rise and more meds are being doled out to parents to give to their children for their own lack or willingness to limit their childs use online. Its not uncommon to see 5 year olds (even younger) staring at a smartphone tablet of some other device to get their daily fix of dopamine. At the same time adults are falling into the same trap. I often hear queations like, "how do you.....". Its like they forget about "WWW" and the fact that they have any information tbey need at their fingertips with a little bit of research. We no longer have to memorize information just know where to find it. Anyone can do this but it seems the information age which we find ourselves living in has had the opposit affect.

Alison, I love that you’re bringing the much needed awareness to this topic and giving details at length. I’m so sorry that the world has not stood up for these children and that these predators are allowed to do this. We need a change. We need it now. Children need to be protected from these perpetrators that are allowed to be successful.

Ep. 2 Reaction: I love this, it’s like an audiobook/roundtable/therapy session. I see a lot of shared experiences with Preacher’s Kids, also known as “PK’s”: the expectation to be perfect, never have an off day, and live according to standards when we’re not even old enough to know who we are or who we want to be. I grew jealous of those who could skip church because they had an event to go to, or weren’t feeling well. I was directly and indirectly taught to be “on” at all times. I even questioned: why do I feel and act this way when I’m not a celebrity?! I’m just an “average joe” but all eyes are on me. Didn’t mean to spill into a vent session, but I’ll leave it incase anyone relates to it.

Ep. 1 Reaction: Thank you, Alyson, for taking the time to not only share transparently with us, but brave the possible backlash, naysayers, and even “haters.” It is apparent you’ve done your research on psychology, your peers’ experiences, the hollywood system, and have done your own soul searching. I’m excited for Ep. 2, and hope to continue to heal myself from my own challenges with mental health. As a 27 year old, I am so proud of my generation for speaking up!

Glad i finally came back to finish the series. I thought I'd finish this before Child Star doco comes out next week. Hope season 2 comes soon. As an Aussie I would love to see a round table of people who were child stars from around the world. Like USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Japan, Korean. I would love solo chats/talks where someone talks about their career and their thoughts on everything but also round tables that include different topics each video.
