3:34 the idea of geologists eating dirt and sand to test its grit makes me think you guys were the kids that ate sand in the playground and loved it

I always found the "hangs tight to the sealing, might grow up" rhyme to never work for me. The way I do it is : TTT (its hanging from the sealing) -stalacTites MMM (they're growing from the ground) -stalagMites

Actually a lot of red jasper is as bright as the Minecraft redstone, at least the stuff I find is.

We produce THAT MUCH iron? Ok so coal is definitely not sustainable, but iron? I mean I guess our core is iron but still...

It's hard to dunk on educational content in good spirit, but when they're asking good money for actual real institutions to buy this thing that is as incorrect as incomplete and very clearly made by people who seemingly have no idea who actually plays Minecraft and why - the only thing I can say is shame on whoever waved this through.

I love how the sniffer egg started to demonstrate what I was coming to warn about right at the end of the video. If you use sniffer eggs in your builds, you need to freeze the tick or it will hatch eventually. Also if you place turtle eggs on sand, you have same issue. So those are two things to consider when figuring out the decorative blocks. I would love to see a version that did glass over lays as well. Like Bismuth's (?) color map project he's been doing, but I think seeing it this set up would help me understand it more.

Personally, I use minecarts to travel long distances between locations passively. You talk about some of the other travel methods but they all require me to maintain movement, versus my rail system carrying me own its own.

maybe minecraft's atmosphere has a lot more oxygen. after all, fire spreads fast and copper oxidizes green in mere hours

I'm thinking about how igneous rocks are made, they are literally cooled magma. They were liquid at some point. So a furnace hot enough to melt the rock, and then letting it cool down carefully should give smooth-ish rock.

The slime collision appears to work by slowly pushing the player, so if you stack multiple slimes in the same spot, you should get more push per frame, and enough at once should feel properly solid.

Just wanted to emphasize that crystals don't have to be minerals, or even something most people would think of as a rock! I do some crystallography in regards to drug research, so I make crystals out of proteins. Crystals are super useful for observing the molecular structure of a material because most of the molecules stay still, so you can do things like super-precise electron microscopy or x-ray diffraction to figure out what is happening with your material on the atom-scale. I think it's super cool that when you're looking at things on a really small scale, totally different fields like Geology and Biochemistry have a lot in common!
