I haven't watched the video before I wrote this, just read the description. The last line is what got me: "No one has or will ever do greater miracles than Christ, or live a sinless life like Christ." I do believe the part that we will never live a sinless life like Christ. As for the rest of it, what about John 14:12 (words of Jesus): “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father."

John 14:12: What are the works Jesus is talking about? What does "greater" mean? Bill Johnson and Todd White interpret this to mean that we will do greater miracles* in quality* than Jesus. But Jesus' greatest miracle was raising Himself from the dead after 3 days (the whole trinity was involved in raising Jesus, including Jesus Himself). Do you expect believers to top this miracle in quality? Bill Johnson and Todd White avoid this by claiming that Jesus didn't raise Himself from the dead, since he emptied himself of His divinity in the incarnation (which is false teaching; Jesus did empty himself by add humanity to His divine nature, not subtracting or not ever using His divine nature). The works that Jesus talks about in Scripture are His owns words, miracles, etc. which all testify to the truth of who He is as the Christ (Messiah). The point of the works is so that you might believe in Christ, and find life in His name. The works Jesus is talking about is our proclamation of the gospel (the good news about the person and work of Jesus), and our works are "greater" in the sense of scope* (Jesus' disciples took the gospel to the nations, whereas Jesus only ministered in a small region).

I appreciate what Rohr has to say. Maybe the person who posted this just doesn't understand what dualistic thinking is. Maybe, just like the Bible, you take other people's insights and words and only use the snippets that are convenient at the moment.

No, we just applied what he said in context to himself. He rejects a "both-and" view of God, which means he's suffering from a "non-dual" mindset. He doesn't accept that God is both Loving/Gracious and Wrathful/Just. His view is that God is either Loving, or Wrathful, but that He cannot be both.

Also, the wrathful god is overdone, the “god” character stolen from the Greeks “Zeus”…Latin Deus, and therefore many, many Christians paradigm is of an old man in the sky with rage and lightning… they tend to be more dualistic, either/or, all/nothing…and forget the whole point of the gospel, is an expression of love, grace.

Todd White is deceived. He follows another Gospel according to Galatians 1. John MacArthur is also deceived. He is a Calvinist which less than 26% of Evangelical churches support. Although majority will never state absolute truth, we must stay clear from the unbiblical teaching of TULIP from Romans 9. I still have yet to encounter a Calvinist who can properly explain why Jesus spoke in parables to people that have the inability to hear truth to begin with. The church in America is dead and needs a shot of Biblical truth and repentance to bring it back.

He didn't empty himself of deity in the Incarnation. Jesus did empty himself of divine attributes.! This is correct. How so? If we say he didn't know the day or hour of his return in his human nature only, we are committing the Nestorian heresy. After all, why not just go over to his divine side and find out?? No, to say he had two natures is Nestorian. He had one nature, human, but was endued with the Holy Spirit, given without measure. His Father was working in him doing his work. However, he was deity always in his Logos spiritual identity. This did not change in his Incarnation. As such, he was worthy of worship and allegiance as God even as a man. If he had his divine attributes while on earth he would have glorified himself, which he could not do as a man. Man cannot glorify himself. You may also notice his own brothers and sisters did not believe on him, since he did no miracles in his childhood. He was not pretending to be a baby, he was a baby. In his glorified state, however, he has his divine attributes. Now in him dwells the Godhead bodily.

Jesus did his miracles, not by his own divine attributes, but the Father doing his work in him. He was given the Holy Spirit without measure. So then, Jesus had left his miraculous attributes behind in the Incarnation. He did maintain his deity in that his identity as the Logos never changed. So White is very close. He just doesn't get that Jesus was still deity the whole time ini his identity.

If someone critiques your false teachings, you can't consider that "suffering & persecution" and rejoice that you're following in Christ's footsteps. That's not persecution and suffering. Everyone should be open to the idea that they might be teaching unbiblical doctrines. Like the Apostle Paul, we should consider those who are testing and correcting our teaching as a "noble" thing (like the Bereans) and be willing to have our teaching compared to the Scripture. No one is above that.
