1. The Cross Reveals Our Value: Todd preaches that God's motivation for saving man was because we are so valuable and worth it. God saves us because something underneath our sin merited the blood of his Son. Our lives are equal to infinite worth of Christ's blood.
The biblical view is that God doesn't save us because of any merit or worth inside of us. He saves His enemies that deserve His hatred/wrath (hell) only because He chooses to love them. He loves us because he loves us (because of who He is, not who we are). God didn't save Israel because they were more valuable than any other nation. He loved Israel because he loved Israel (Deut 7:7). It is blasphemous to say that the value of blood of Christ is equal to the value of man. The blood of Christ (and its infinite worth) was needed to save man because our sin created an infinite debt (because it was against an infinite and holy God).
2. The Gospel is our Testimony: Todd teaches that our testimony is the gospel, and that it somehow "impregnates" salvation in others when we speak it.
Our testimonies are the result of the gospel, but they are not the gospel. The gospel is the good news about the person and work of Christ (His life, death, burial, resurrection). Sharing the gospel is about talking about what Christ has done for sinners, not sharing our testimonies. It’s very possible to include the gospel in your testimony, but the gospel isn’t our testimony of how our lives have changed.
3. Evangelism By Blessing: Todd's method of evangelism is to pray for healing, and to bless people with money (while leaving our anything about our sin, the consequences of our sin in hell, the need to repent, etc.). It's an attractive prosperity gospel ("God loves you! Here's some healing and money."). He describes this as "doing the gospel".
Again, the gospel isn't about what we do, but it is news about what Christ has done. This news must be spoken with words. We don't "live the gospel" or "do the gospel”, we proclaim the good news of what Christ has already done.
4. You're Amazing! Todd is known for evangelizing by pulling out the “gold” in people, and telling them how amazing they are.
A biblical gospel presentation should begin with the law of God. The law is a mirror that shows us our need of a savior. If we skip the bad news, the good news doesn’t make any sense. Overall, Todd's gospel is man-centered. It boosts the ego and downplays our sin. It leads to the worship of man and our value, instead of the worship of God and His value.

Ryan Downs , Listen to Todd’s whole sermons, not just parts that are cut off, that’s just wrong. Todd talks about repentance and having a passion for Gods Kingdom. He’s not denying that Jesus died for sinners but he’s saying that behind the mold of Sin and darkness in men, there’s a purpose that we have that God wants all men to come to. When God created me in my mother’s womb , I was beautifully wonderfully made, that seems like I was created with a purpose and value, but sin separates us from God, so God sent his Son to forgive our sins and to take us back to the place we wanted us to be before the foundation of the world.

He told them, "This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and REPENTANCE FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS WILL BE PREACHED IN HIS NAME TO ALL NATIONS, beginning in Jerusalem. What is happening to the church?!? So caught up in needing to be highly esteemed and have their value, identity, and worth affirmed! The Christian life is a call to come die, and deny yourself! Who cares about your worth! He is worthy and He is the only thing we need! I don't need a pat on the back and to be flattered into a better self esteem. We already struggle with a flesh that seeks the pride of life! Todd White's preaching feeds right into that! We don't "do" the Gospel, we "preach" the gospel!!! Faith comes by hearing, not by seeing or experiencing miracles! And evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign! And true love confronts people who are separated from God by shining the light of God's Word on their sin and calls them to repent and trust in Christ alone! When Christ returns will He really find faith on the earth?! These flattery shenanigans is not truly loving anyone, biblical love is willing to endure the temporary confrontation for the purpose of reconciling sinful people to a Holy God! It's willing to be hated because you know the terror of the Lord and you want to persuade men.

Todd has a point. God loved the world so much that He sacrificed His Son to redeem us. The problem is the cross also reveals the severity of our sin. If you only emphasize the "value" part you're out of balance on that end, but if you only emphasize the "sin" part you're out of balance on the other. Instead of the name calling and finger pointing maybe we should all strive to find the balance?

Chris Gregory We are not “valuable to God.” We have value because He made us in His image, but we add nothing to God whatsoever. He doesn’t become more because He bought us, or less because He lost us. He loves us not because we are valuable to Him in any way, but simply because He is love. It’s in His character. The reality is that we are wicked sinners, and “God demonstrates His love towards us in this: while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 So Todd is totally wrong on this. It isn’t about our value, but God’s loving character. Jesus paid the price with His blood, which is more precious than the entirety of man; that’s why it’s more than sufficient to cover all sin.

We most definitely have great value to Jesus. God is our father; what parent wouldn’t risk their own life to save their child. He gave it all for us, His chosen, so that where He is, we may be also. It certainly wasn’t anything we could do to attain heaven. Our “good works” are as filthy rags. It was through His death, that He freely gave for us, that those of us who believe and recognize Jesus as our Lord and Savior, will have eternal life with Him forever.

@@braiannestico817 I'm not dictating judgment I'm just quoiting the teachings in the Bible. I have commended no one to hell... The Bible says God's curse is hell. It's not that His sacrifice not enough, it's that he has command over who he forgives and he seemed very clear on what it takes to get his gift of salvation. Jesus can have mercy on whoever he wants, but if Jesus forgives people like Joseph Smith then now we have multiple contradictions in the Bible we have to explain. You can take a chance and preach an unbiblical gospel but that's (no pun intended) a hell of risk to take.

@@tristanbel193 I meant "dictating judgement" referring to Jonathan's comment. Although I believe it's true that preaching the wrong gospel just like living in any other kind of sin would ultimately make one go to hell, I also believe in God's mercy through Jesus that brings salvation. And my point is that while we live, we have the chance of repenting so we shouldn't be making statements of condemnation at an early stage. Unlike Joseph Smith, Tod White and every one else alive still have time to repent and find forgiveness. Therefore, we should be praying about his salvation (as well as everyone else's) instead of making statements of condemnation, if we really believe and understand the work of Jesus in the cross.

So I understand what some people are saying that we have all SINNED and fallen short of Gods glory and that we NEED A SAVIOR and that if we repent and turn away from our sin that He (God) Is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and to grant us everlasting life. ALL TRUE! It is also true that God does love us. "For God so LOVED the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever should believe in Him would not perish but have everlasting life" John 3:16. What is God loving in that verse? The WORLD. So it can be both true that the work of Jesus on the cross both takes our sin away, shows us the horribleness of our sin AND it reveals how much God loves us. So both of these things are true.
@PopularGospel
@PopularGospel 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, both are true- you just described a balanced gospel message. But that's not what Todd's doing. First, Todd is ignoring the bad news, and the "good news" that he does present is twisted to be man-centered. God doesn't chose to love and save us because of who we are (because we are amazing and valuable) as if something within us drew out or motivated God into loving us. God loves us because of who He is; nothing motivates Him to do what He does, He is simply loving and gracious by nature. Our sin only motivates God to give us justice in hell (there isn't something underneath our sin that is good and valuable and worthy of redemption. If ever we consider ourselves worthy of God's love, we have lost grace).

A lot of what he says is from a loving place and their is a lot of encouraging truth in what he teaches. We should not pressure people and love has no agenda, nor seeks his own. We need to be careful not to judge another believer, but pray for them. He is right we don't save anyone, we sow and water, and only God brings the increase, and the goal of ALL our instruction is LOVE. Todd has never been caught up in any scandal that I have heard of. Even Jesus told his disciples to leave the man who was following them around and attempting to heal and speak of Jesus, that if he isn't against us he is for us. Correction based from absolute love is the only correction anyone will ever hear. You shake your finger and you have failed. We are not the judge of anyone, especially a believer who is doing more good than harm. The world will know us by the love we have for one another, that is how the church will ultimately see God's glory. Amen.

All false teachers preach some truth and disguise themselves as workers of righteousness (as the devil disguises himself as an angel of light). Telling people the full truth of the gospel is not pressuring them, and love does have an agenda; that agenda is what is best for the other person- in this case it's salvation. Scripture commands us to judge the teaching of others. The Bereans were commended in scripture for testing or judging the teachings of Paul and comparing them to scripture. We can also simultaneously pray for Todd White as we warn others about his teaching. The scandal of Todd is that he's been caught faking his leg lengthening miracles- there's no denying it. Todd's Jesus is not the Jesus of the Bible. I did not even include the clips in this video that Todd teaches that Jesus was not born on this earth to be God. He believes that Jesus emptied himself of all divinity and lived a sinless life as a man, and not as God. In sum, he's teaching that our salvation was accomplished by a man and not God (this is blasphemy). Therefore Todd is not "for us" because he teaches another Jesus and another gospel. Why do you claim that we are not the judge of anyone, while you simultaneously judge and condemn me for making this video?

@@PopularGospel I would like to hear Todd say Jesus was not fully God and fully Man if you have a link to that sermon. Yes correct error and pray, but at some point we have all believed amiss, even some of the pastors in the the film, the American Gospel: Christ Alone film and many others have testified that they had been taught or preached a different gospel than the true gospel. I just believe, like myself, most of them were sincerely heartfelt and just had it wrong. Just like there are millions of people still who call themselves followers of Jesus but do not know the Lord Jesus of the Bible, because they never read it or the read it out of context. I agree it is very sad and my heart is sorrowful for most are not living in the full life of peace, joy abiding, and in the amazing love of God. I did not hear the true gospel and the new creation in Christ message until I had been a Christian some 17 years. The harvest is great but few workers who teach truth. God be with us as we do our best to spread the Gospel Good news to all we can. But fully aware that only God can bring someone to salvation, just like only God revealed the truth to us once we heard or read it the Holy Spirit made us able to receive it as Truth. Amen.

I don't think it's about us being worth it or not. We aren't worth it. Adam and Eve chose sin in the garden. But God loved them and has loved us. The cross points to the length of just how far God is willing to go to love. There is no greater love than this, a man lay down his life for his friends. God I pray you bring us together. I pray your spirit brings us together. I pray against the division. The offense. The sin that clings to us so closely. The I have to be right mindset. Perfect love casts out all fear.

God’s motive for saving is because He is loving and gracious, not because we are valuable. Why did God choose to love and save Israel? In Deut 7:7 He says it wasn’t because of anything valuable within Israel (they were least of all nations), but because of His love. In fact, In Ezekiel 16 he says Israel is worse than Sodom. Why did He give grace to Israel and justice to Sodom? It was so He could demonstrate the greatness of His grace and love. “As I live,” declares the Lord God, “Sodom, your sister and her daughters have not done as you and your daughters have done. - Ezekiel 16:48 “Nevertheless, I will remember My covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you. - Ezekiel 16:60 so that you may remember and be ashamed and never open your mouth anymore because of your humiliation, when I have forgiven you for all that you have done,” the Lord God declares.” - Ezekiel 16:63

@@PopularGospel Why do you keep posting scriptures that does not help your argument? You kind of lie about Deut 7.7 also, that is why you didn't even quote it. "The Lord did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples." It doesn't say "The Lord didn't find you valuable" in this verse nor any verses. John 3:16 "For God so love the world, that he gave his only Son, that whosoever believe in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." We are loved by God, that must mean we are of value to him, otherwise he wouldn't gave his son to save us. When I say we are valuable, it doesn't mean we are good enough by ourselves to get to heaven, we need God to change us, and to live in us, and to we need to live in him. Why do you struggle with that? Are you just stuck in sementics? Think about this. God cares about us while we are sinners to do what he did, that is why we're valuable. It's that simple. It's not heresy. It's just the gospel.

Ultradude the greatness and value of a nation was based on the number of people or size of that nation. The point of the verse is that nothing related to Israel motivated God in his decision to be gracious to Israel. It was “because the Lord loved you and kept the oath which He swore to your forefathers, the Lord brought you out by a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. (Deuteronomy 7:8). That verse applies directly to this. You’re also missing the point. The question isn’t “are we valuable to God?” The question is, “Why* are we valuable to God?” God doesn’t love me because of my value. I’m valuable because God loves me. There’s 180 degree difference. Todd teaches that something underneath our sin must of been of great importance for Christ to die for me. He also says that we a worth the blood of Jesus, or are equal in value to the blood of Jesus. This boosts the self esteem and causes us to worship ourselves. But if God saves, loves, and is gracious toward me while I’m a wretched sinner deserving of His justice and wrath in hell, then God’s grace and love looks infinitely more amazing. The true gospel gives glory to God and His value. It doesn’t elevate man and our value.

His point is “God loves me because I’m valuable.” (Aka, some merit inside of me drew out the love of God... which destroys grace, cheapens the love of God, and elevates man). God’s love looks more glorious when he sets upon unworthy, worthless (Romans 3:12), and unlovely sinners). Anyone can love lovely, valuable, worthy people. Only a divine love can love objects of His wrath.

Ludwig Rotin There is nothing here that is taken out of context. These are Todd’s own words, and he clearly teaches some beliefs that are contrary to scripture. He can certainly correct this by becoming more proficient in “correctly dividing the word if truth.” But he tends to uplift other teachers who are his mentirs, than present solid scriptural teaching. And that’s the problem: false teaching is being handed down from one teacher to the next, and it doesn’t get corrected. So then, it’s actually a ministry, and a service to point out the difference between solid scriptural teaching, and false teaching; which usually comes from someone or something outside of the scriptures, so that people can learn discernment.

Placing the Fall, sin, and death into a legal framework leads to viewing the Person and work of Christ as part of that same framework. Accepting our inheritance of Adam's guilt leads to viewing judicial guilt for sin as our main problem, which results in the belief that once divine justice is satisfied on the Cross, redemption is complete. That is why many expressions of Christianity seem shallow and simplistic: sanctification, virtue, holiness, life in Christ, transfiguration, union and communion with God were held to be added onto redemption and salvation, not integral to their very essence. The original Gospel emphasizes that Jesus takes upon Himself our humanity in order to purify, heal, illumine, and transfigure it. We are saved from something (namely, death, sin, and the devil) in order to be saved for something else (union and communion with God). Union and communion with God is a journey of ever-deepening love that begins in this life, and -- because God is infinite -- continues forever. The Gospel is not so much juridical as it is ontological. Christ came to set the captives free not appease an angry God. He came to heal us and make us whole, to transform us that we may become the sons of God and share in His glory and divine nature. Todd is preaching the original Christian gospel. It was your reformed protestants that marred it and made it something completely different to the original orthodox understanding for the first century of Christianity.

@PopularGospel 3 жыл бұрын
Removing the Fall, sin, death, and atonement from the frame work of who God is (holy, righteous, a God of justice- which is the legal aspect you reject) creates a false gospel, and it robs God of the purpose behind redemption- to display His glory in all of His attributes. Atonement is primarily about being reconciled to God, having peace with God. We don’t have peace with God because sin causes us to be enemies of God. It is because of WHO He is- Holy, Righteous, Good, and Just- which makes Him opposed to wicked and sinful men. We are saved primarily from the wrath of God, or God Himself, who brings the punishment for sin- death. But we are also saved by God Himself because He is also Compassionate and Gracious). Yes, the atonement also can be viewed as a ransom, a victory over sin, the devil, death, etc., or as a moral example, but you cannot remove the core image/truth of penalty* substitution* from the gospel without creating a different gospel. Rejection of penal substitution is what creates a weak, shallow gospel that cannot save. Todd White’s man-centered gospel is none of the above, but merely, “God saved me because I’m amazing, worth it, and valuable.” That gospel says nothing about the amazing love, grace, righteousness, wrath, and justice of God displayed in the cross, but only focuses the spotlight on the greatness of man.

(1 Corinthians 9:22) Todd White: "Never read the Bible so you can teach people" Holy Bible: Go ye therefore, and teach all nations (Matthew 28:19) Todd White: "God did not tell you to memorize scripture" Holy Bible: This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night (Joshua 1:8)

Why are you taking Todd's words out of context? When Todd says "we" don't get anyone saved, he is absolutely right. God does the saving, not you, not me, not Todd. The Lord brings the increase. When he says don't read your Bible so you can teach people he along with that says read your Bible to know God. This is also in response to your 3rd point, "God didn't tell you to memorize scripture. I went to a catholic school as a child, I memorized many "prayers" that did not bring me any closer to God, it didn't even lead me to God. Many Christians use their ability to quote scripture verbatim as a source of pride. They can quote it but do they live it? Knowledge puffs up, pride is not a good thing. Of course being able to quote scripture when your evangelizing is really helpful and a good thing to know. It's all about motive. Are you memorizing scripture to prove what you know or are you remembering scripture because you've become it, which of course is the point. Be very careful when you ascribe motives to other people. If you really believe he is teaching wrongly then pray for him that he will know and teach the truth, if that's what you think.

Man. I wish I could @ every person in this thread. I’m not even sure where to start. You guys need to watch a whole message of Todd’s and not clips. He just loves Jesus and people. Jesus loved people. Jesus healed everyone who came to him multiple times...do you think all of those people were without sin and that’s why they were healed? Nah Jesus saw past people’s sin and saw people. Saw his creation. Saw their hearts. And His life drew them away from sin and His death gave them access. Yes, we have sinful natures and we need a savior. But our Savior came and lived among people, hung out with sinners and tax collectors, loved people and pointed them to the Father. Guys, let’s be that person in this world and not KZbin commenters on someone’s life who we saw a 9:00 glimpse of. Feel free to message me if you want to talk more. Have a great one...

Please look past the supposed loving lifestyle and miracles that Todd White displays, and address his teaching related to the content of the gospel. The Bible says false teachers and prophets are disguised as workers of righteousness and can even perform signs and wonders. Because of that, your key discernment should focus on the content of his gospel message. Does Todd's definition of the gospel line up with scripture? Don't be blinded by supposed miracles and good works.

@@PopularGospel That is why I am asking if anyone on here has actually watched a message of his or just this compilation of clips. What is the gospel? Does it not involve loving and miracles? Are we to be doing "even greater things"? Are we not be spending time with "tax collectors and sinners" since Christ came not for the well but the sick? For all intents and purposes, this is Todd's life. And I don't mean this to jab, I mean this sincerely, but is the evidence of the gospel to make youtube videos of peoples lives or to live it out? Todd isn't on here defending himself because he is just out to eat with his family really loving on people, praying for them, seeing healings, etc. I hope you and I are living it out in our lives as well and not just commenting on what everyone else is supposedly doing wrong. :)
@PopularGospel
@PopularGospel 4 жыл бұрын
@@Rgrabill1 I made the compilations based on watching tons of Todd White content, with the motive of love and concern because I believe people are being deceived and hurt by his false teaching. The gospel (or good news) doesn't involve anything that we DO (loving people or doing miracles), or how we live. The gospel message is spoken with words and consists entirely of Christ- His person and work (what He has DONE to reconcile us to God). And that is glaringly absent from Todd's street evangelism (it's true that we are to love God and neighbor in response to the gospel, but "love God, love people" is a summary of the LAW, not the gospel). After praying for someone's healing, or blessing them with money (which Todd calls, "doing the gospel"), and Todd communicating how Jesus loves them and thinks the person is amazing, he typically begins leading them in a sinner's prayer (and in that prayer is when they are first hearing about their sin, and Christ dying on a cross). In other words they have no idea what they are praying about or repeating (and yet Todd contradicts himself when he says the sinner's prayer isn't biblical). I don't think a sinner's prayer is always wrong, but it's definitely wrong if it's done without first communicating who God is (He is both righteous, holy, just, & loving, gracious, and merciful), who we are (wretched sinners deserving of hell), and what Christ has done (saving us from the wrath of God against our sin). If a person responds in repentance and faith, a prayer is fine. Todd makes the gospel all about him (his life, his testimony, his value, his holiness). In other words, you need to follow Todd's lifestyle (Lifestyle Christianity). The true gospel is about Christ's life, Christ's value, Christ's holiness. And on top of all of this, I believe that Todd knowingly fakes at least his leg lengthening miracle, and has been doing it for over a decade.
@Rgrabill1
@Rgrabill1 4 жыл бұрын
@@PopularGospel Man. There are some serious allegations in there. I really hope you have actually talked to someone who had their leg healed and heard from them directly that it was all fake. I can tell from what you have written that you haven't watched any of his sermons. He doesn't talk about a whole lot else besides Jesus and how we are nothing without him, how Jesus saved Him, how much he loves Jesus. Loving God and loving people is a summary of the LAW? You do know that loving God and loving your neighbor is an actual statement of Jesus', right? What exactly do you propose? That we DON'T love people? That they are only told of how sinful and wretched they are? And because they are wretched they need God? Does that sound at all like what Jesus said to the people he interacted with? I don't think it does man.
@PopularGospel
@PopularGospel 4 жыл бұрын
@@Rgrabill1 Actually yes, I have a friend who Todd did this to, and he later realized it was fake. I'd encourage you to watch my film, "American Gospel: Christ Alone" (you can see an example here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnWaiqd5idCXhsU ). I have many more examples of Todd doing the same thing if you're interesting in seeing the evidence (all it takes is a simple speeding up of the clip to see how Todd is manipulating the heels). Mike Winger (who is a continuationist like Todd White) has a video here examining fake leg lengthening videos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oJaVYYuKpM12hNE The thing about Todd is that he does talk a lot about Jesus and his love for Jesus. He also says a lot of true things, but that's the thing about false teachers that you need to recognize- scripture says that they come disguised as servants of righteousness: "No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. Therefore it is not surprising if his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds." (2 Corinthians 11:14-15) But mixed into the truth they present is serious error. Todd White's version of Jesus "wasn't born on this earth to be God," "emptied himself of all divinity," and did his work (his miracles, living a sinless life) as a man in right relationship with God, not as God. This is called the kenosis heresy. Scripture teaches that Jesus did all of his works as fully and truly God, and fully and truly man. If you remove the "God" half of the equation (as Todd teaches), your Jesus cannot save you, because only a truly and fully divine Jesus could atone for our sins. Todd addresses this conflict that people have with his teaching all the time, and while he may object and say "I'm not taking divinity away from Jesus" he still denies that Jesus did His work as God. This teaching alone makes Todd White a false teacher. You claim that I must not be familiar with Todd's teaching, but I'm more concerned for your lack of familiarity with Jesus' life in the scripture. Yes, loving God and loving people is the summary of the law, and it is what Jesus taught. Take a look at this passage and notice that in the question, the Pharisees are asking about "the greatest commandment in the law": "But when the Pharisees heard that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered themselves together. 35 One of them, [n]a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the great and [o]foremost commandment. 39 The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.” (Matt 22:34-40) In other words, "love God" is a summary of commands 1-4, and "love neighbor" is a summary of commands 5-10 in the 10 commandments. When I say that this is the "law" and not the "gospel," I'm making a distinction of categories- I'm not saying that the law is unimportant, that we shouldn't obey it, or that it's wasn't taught by Jesus. The law is "DO" (the commands of scripture to us) and the gospel is "DONE" (Christ, and what he has done to save us). The primary way that Jesus used to the law of God was to expose our sin, to help us see our need of a savior. For example, when Jesus encountered the rich young ruler he used the law. The ruler asked: “Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain eternal life?” 17 And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.” 18 Then he *said to Him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “You shall not commit murder; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not bear false witness; 19 Honor your father and mother; and You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” The rich young ruler was deceived and self-righteous, thinking that he had kept all of the commandments (Jesus first told him that no one is good but God... all men are sinners). Jesus says, “If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property." In sum, Jesus exposed this man's sin by showing him that he didn't love God with all of His heart, because He loved his money more (thus he broke the first commandment). So when you see Jesus say things like this: "Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Matt 5:48) "For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matt 5:20) This is Jesus holding up the perfect stand of God's law as a mirror for us to see our sin. Your reaction shouldn't be, "I need to try harder to be perfect." Your reaction should be "I'm not perfect. I'm spiritually bankrupt, and I desperately need the mercy of God." This is why Jesus said "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." (Matt 5) "Poor in spirit" means those who recognize that they are spiritual bankrupt, and mourn over their sin, saying: 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.' (Luke 18:13) Jesus used the law of God to show people that they had fallen short of God's perfect holy standard. And for those who realized that they were sinners, he offered grace and the forgiveness of sins in His own person (He was the God the Son in human flesh, and had the authority to forgive sins). Jesus didn't go around to people saying "I love you. You're amazing!" (as Todd White does). The best way we can love people, is show them their sin and their need of a savior like Christ did.

@@518hs Absolutely not, the gospel is that Christ died for our sins, he was buried, and rose again according to the scripture. The gospel is about what Christ did for us, and that we can be reconciled to God through him. God's love is not a humanistic carnal love. It is a holy love, not a human love. God's love makes provision to escape his justice and wrath of God, which is apart of his character. When you just preach God is love and do not preach he is also a God of justice you get a distorted view of God's love. Jesus came to save us from our sin, not to save us in our sin. Repentance is a necessary action on the part of the believer to not to continue to live in sin. Let’s look to the Bible for the answer about how God is towards the unsaved. Romans 1:18-20 KJV) For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed {it} unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, {even} his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. No Mr Todd White . Do not speak for God. God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Telling people who are going to hell that they are amazing that they are so wonderful is a really good way to make them think they are ok with God . Why would they have any godly sorrow ? They’re not aware they are in danger of eternal damnation. I’ll end on this note: Does God so love the world? yes! Proclaim that truth far and wide, and do so against the backdrop of God's perfect wrath that awaits everyone who does not repent and turn to Christ.

I’m not one to defend Todd White, but the Bible is FULL of verses telling us that God loves us, and we are of great value and worth to God, not because of any good in us but because He created us. God would not have killed His own Son for something He didn't find valuable. People need to hear three things: Our sin condems us, we can’t save ourselves, and that God values us so much that He sent His own Son to redeem us. The Gospel is BOTH. When I look at the cross, I see my sin AND God’s love. We love Him, BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED US. If God loved us first, then that affirms that He does find value and worth in us. Disclaimer: I’m not saying value and worth as though we earn it, but because we are God’s creation. Genesis 1:31 - And God saw “everything” (that includes us by the way) that he had made, and behold, it was very good (aka - it was of value and worth to God)."

James, I believe you're missing the point (I need to get a little more precise to explain the point). We are not debating whether or not God loves us, but WHY* God loves us. We are not debating whether or not we have value, but WHY* we have value. Todd's teaching is that our inherent value is what motivated God to love and save us (he saw something in us that He needed and thought was irresistible). He also teaches that our value is equal to the value of His infinite blood. Scripture does not teach this. First, God doesn't need anything- He is self-sufficient. Second, there is nothing that motivates or draws out the love of God. He loves because of who He is, not who we are. As I mentioned in the description, Deut. 7:7 is the an example of this truth; God did not love or save Israel because of their value (they were the fewest, and least of the nations), but he loved and saved them because of He loved them. The same applies to us in salvation; yes we were created with value because God chose to make us in His image, but because of sin, scripture now says all have become "worthless" (Romans 3:12) and only rightly deserve God's justice-- destruction in hell. But because of who God is-- He is also rich in mercy and lovingkindness-- God has mercy on whom He will have mercy (Romans 9:15). It doesn't say God has mercy on the valuable (our value isn't what attracts God's mercy). Todd's gospel flips everything upside-down. If you believe that something within you is the reason that God saved you, then you have are teaching a merit-based salvation that is destroying grace. Grace is something we do not deserve or earn. The "value gospel" makes grace something that is earned by us because of who we are. Todd's gospel also greatly diminishes our view of the love of God. Anyone can love someone who is lovely or attractive. It takes a greater divine love to love enemies who are not lovely or attractive. Todd's gospel puts all the glory on man and how amazing we are, instead of the true gospel's revelation of how amazing God (and His love) is. In sum: The Therapeutic gospel: "God loves me because I'm valuable." The Biblical Gospel: "I am valuable because God loves me."

But I have seen videos from KZbin channels *like yours* (not saying yours because I haven’t seen enough of yours to judge), with good intentions I might add, to call out people for false doctrine, yet upon further research (watching a said sermon or several sermons) in full context find that either they did a poor job explaining what they were trying to convey or did not believe the way the video calling them out for painted. Not talking about Todd White, but my point (to someone who might be reading this) is that in some ways both are true. I’m valuable because God loves me and God loves me because I’m valuable *because* I’m His creation. I’m not saying I’m valuable because of something I’ve done, but because of something God has done (aka: created me). I’m not disagreeing with anything you said in the video, I’m just clarifying it. Not for the sake of Todd White, but for the sake of someone who might take the other extreme after watching it, because people on here are saying we have no value and stopping at that, and based on scripture that too is not correct. "The cross isn't the revelation of my sin..." = Rejecting the OT that points to Jesus Christ and the need for Jesus Christ. It reveals Jesus Christ, not us. It reveals a more beautiful and excellent picture, that is Jesus Christ. That in Him we are a New Creation and no longer do we live in the bondage of sin! Jesus paid it ALL. Dying to self daily, picking up the cross and suffering for Him, for His grace is sufficient! The great joy that every Christians live in is in the knowledge of the truth of our God, which was revealed by Jesus Christ, His Son, and now empowered by the Holy Spirit, we live!

We are not good! God sent his son for his own glory! It is idolatry for God to value anything higher than or equal to the infinite value of himself!! ““Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD, “It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for My holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you went. I will vindicate the holiness of My great name which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD,” declares the Lord GOD, “when I prove Myself holy among you in their sight. Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good, and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and your abominations. I am not doing this for your sake,” declares the Lord GOD, “let it be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel!”” ‭‭EZEKIEL‬ ‭36:22-23, 31-32‬ ‭NASB‬‬ Let’s pray that God will destroy all these false teachings and will save their souls from hell for his own glory!

Adam Percell i have watched tons of hours of Todd White’s material. These statements accurately reflect his teaching, and they appear across multiple videos over the years because he repeats these catch phrases all the time. “He’s addressing the mind sets of others in first person.” Can you explain or elaborate on that? Are you saying that in relation to Todd’s teaching about our value? (Because there are multiple examples of different teachings in this video). This “value gospel” is what Todd first heard from Dan Mohler when he first apparently came to faith. In fact, one of the clips actually has him explaining that.

@@adamluke9733 you came with an "out of context" argument, but you can't back up your claims. I'm sincerely praying that the Lord's opens your eyes to Todd's deception. The gospel is not a man-centered message about your value, it's about Christ's great love for us- His value and worth- because His divine love can love sinners (who lost their value) who are His enemies (who should be the objects of his wrath in hell). Todd's message elevates and deifies man, and demotes Christ. The true gospel has a low view of man, and a high view of Christ.

@The word God Ministry that wasnt a question. Yes got is not a man. God is spirit. But the verse you picked is used out of context. The name of God I AM that I AM has a meaning amd it means "i will become whatever I choose" and the Son that existed as God decided to set aside his divine priviliges and humbled himself taking on himself the nature of a man and was faithful till death on the cross (philippians 2:6-8) But i would like to know who do you believe Jesus was in heaven before he became a man.

@PopularGospel
@PopularGospel 4 жыл бұрын
Vanessa E. the description of the video explains it. The key error that Todd repeatedly emphasizes is called kenosis- he teaches that Jesus emptied Himself of all divinity. Todd says He wasn’t here as God, and didn’t do his miracles or live his sinless life as God- but just as a man with the Holy Spirit. The truth is that Jesus was fully and truly God, and fully and truly man in the incarnation. To deny the God half, is heretical because he’s saying our salvation wasn’t accomplished by God, but by a man. That’s a different Jesus and a different gospel. Todd twists everything to make it man-centered... it’s all about Todd’s value, and not God’s value. It’s all about the miracles Todd can do, not that the miracles Jesus did were meant to point to His deity. It’s all about Todd’s testimony, instead of Christ Crucified. When I say Todd mixes truth with error, here’s an example: it’s great that Todd talks about holiness, but his error is in preaching sinless perfectionism, and boasting about his own holiness. That’s what his whole ministry is about... follow the Lifestyle of Todd White. It’s devastating to people because the Bible doesn’t say you can achieve sinless perfection in this life.

@@PopularGospel I get where your coming from and I can see why you feel that way. Just know as one who listens to him and will never stop listening to him, I see a whole other perspective. He encourages me and so many others to draw closer to the father so we can access the fullness of what Jesus paid for. I personally no longer walk in guilt, shame, and condemnation and have realized that sin no longer has control of my life. I don't have to give into it... therefore I can be free from it thanks to Jesus. Hes help me realize that if I don't get free from me, I will never be free from people or be free in Christ! My new identity is found in Jesus and I am seen as pure, holy, and blameless because of Jesus and i am SO thankful for this truth! Now when I read the word and spend quality time with Him just to know Him and become love, i see this truth written all over it. It's quite beautiful and makes more sense. And honestly, he does preach the word. He also quotes so much scripture while sharing his testimony because he has the word written in his heart. I admire his testimony. He gives so much hope to people through his testimony and it all points back to Jesus. So you should be careful when knocking that down. He knows what Jesus did for him, so he wants to share it with as many people. I see it like this, Jesus saved an atheist who hurt people and did drugs...he can save anyone! He also encourages me to step out and actually be the church to everyone around me instead of keeping my faith, gifts, my story and Gods love to myself. So I'm sorry, but anyone who can make that big of an impact in someone's life including mine, I'm thankful, will always support, and will always pray for. And its pretty sad that so many like yourself have to knock a man down who genuinely loves the Lord and is doing his best to walk like Jesus while showing others, walking like him is actually possible.

I don't know how you got all those clips together, that would be a lot of work no doubt. I wanted to thank you for taking the time to do it, it takes work this I know. I will be sharing clips of this with people. The problem with Todd is not that everything he says or does is 100% wrong, because some of it is biblical. I am not convinced he is a genuine believer but there seems to be a love for people, that seems to be clear. However, the gospel according to the Scriptures is missing from his so called sharing the gospel with people. A person will be hard pressed to find the actual gospel of the Scriptures from Todd's teachings. Sure there will be a statement here and there, a smart taste of truth, but what it means to know the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and to put your complete trust in Him for salvation, eternal life, to truly know God is missing from his lips. I have tried hard to find him teaching the gospel according to the Scriptures online, youtube, and have not found it yet. That does not mean he has not shared a partial something here and there, but it is never clear and to the point, at least from my examples of him teaching.
