no, it means you loose control and God takes the throne of your life. you may loose it all but God is good and there are many verses in scripture about his love and blessings. gaining Christ means you are being restored to what you were meant to be from the beginning. gods child. and god wants to give his children good gifts. but the greatest gift is him. try reading Matthew 7:11

@PopularGospel

Todd believes that it's always God's will that we are healed and are wealthy. Yes, he warns against the idolatry of those things but so does Creflo Dollar, etc. But he is still adding to the gospel a promise that isn't promised in this life, and using that to attract sinners. Todd's method of "evangelism by blessing" is to pray for healing, or to bless people with money, followed by "Jesus loves you." He never brings in the law of God (which exposes sin and shows a need for a Savior), the attributes of God (that He is both righteous, just, & gracious and loving) which shows sinner's that they are enemies with God. Todd teaches the "spiritual death of Jesus" doctrine taught by other Word of Faith teachers like Kenneth Copeland, Joyce Meyer, etc. (Jesus went to hell, suffered in hell at the hands of demons, died spiritually, and was born again). This doctrine says that Jesus had to continue paying for our sins in hell, rendering Jesus' statement at the cross, "It is finished"- a lie. It is also impossible for the Son of God to cease being God (dying spiritually), because God cannot cease to be God. Todd denies the deity of Christ in the incarnation like Kenneth Copeland, Dan Mohler, Bill Johnson, etc. (kenotic theology), which is an essential aspect of the gospel. He teaches that Jesus emptied himself of all divinity, wasn't here as God, and didn't live His sinless life, do miracles, or die on the cross as God... but as a man in right relationship with God (a man with the Holy Spirit like us). The true gospel requires that Jesus is the GodMan- truly and fully God, and truly and fully man, in order to be our mediator. Essentially Todd teaches that man accomplished our salvation, not God, and that man is "on-par" with Jesus. This is classic Word of Faith doctrine, which deifies man and demotes Christ (based on E.W. Kenyon's teaching that "the believer is as much of an incarnation as was Jesus of Nazareth."). Kenotic theology is outside of Christian orthodoxy (heresy).

@@PopularGospel Todd White actually addresses those objections to the divinity of Jesus. He never said that Jesus stopped being God he was saying that Jesus role on this earth was to give his life for the ransom of many. Even though he was God, he humbled himself and took the form of a servant. Now the Holy Spirit empowers us to walk just like Jesus, when we are born again we are restored back to Gods image. 1 John 4:17 says that "Just as he is so are we in this world." There is physical sickness and infirmity. Gods will isn't for us to have physical sickness Jesus bore our sickness on the cross. Paul did have a thorn in the flesh but from the context he isn't talking about a sickness. We will face persecution but that doesnt mean that sickness is Gods will.

So long as francis is not preaching heresy. I might not agree with some beliefs of todd, but so long as todd is breathing, it is a sign that God is giving todd and every human being a chance to change our wrong ways. One soul has value in the eyes of God, for His Son's blood poured out even to most wicked person we could ever known. And I think francis is trying to win their soul. Not by attacking them, but by gentleness and wisdom. You can see how Francis boldly rebuked the hype by asking them to go to india. Francis is doin every possible way to win those souls even of it costs its own reputation. Atleast let's thank God that one man stand on that stage rebuking self centered prosperity people. He has spoken many times by living by faith that God will provide so he gives with no concern that he may not pay his bills. He models radical generosity and has spoken against the prosperity gospel many times. All his KZbin are set with no ads so they will be free and people can listen without be advertised to. He makes documentary’s for free distribution. He lets people come to his conference for free if they can’t afford it. He is in the boat as Francis. He shared the stage with some people he shouldn’t. But he himself is a solid bible teacher. Living radically for Jesus. He is never up there with a nice suite trying to get money out of people. He gives big and does not take. If you would watch him you would know that. Love your brother

The things spoken by Todd White are taken out of context entirely. I watched the sermon and it does not support prosperity gospel. Todd White is specifically talking about having a prosperous soul and he goes on to say that money doesn’t matter. He then talks about how powerful money is in the hands of the world: pimps, drug dealers, etc. Additionally, he talks about tithe and giving and the importance of both of these things. And when he says that he “doesn’t care what people say” he is referring to something very specific that I can’t quite remember in this moment. My point still stands that this was taken out of context.

Sorry, but you're wrong. Even within the full context ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYrdhJtpeN6KgtU ) Todd is still saying that it's always God's will that you're healthy and wealthy, and that health and wealth should be things that attract non-believers to the faith. It doesn't matter if he speaks out of the other side of his mouth and warns about the idolatry of money- most prosperity preachers do this. In the full context, Todd White also goes on to defend his mentor Kenneth Copeland who is the probably the worst of prosperity preachers. He also repeats Copeland's doctrine of the Abrahamic Blessing and teaches that if you sow seed into his ministry, that God will prosper you. This doesn't even touch the core issue here. The core issue with Copeland and White's teaching is that they deify man, and demote Christ.

Carole Beth Actually, Todd does preach a prosperity gospel. It’s just that it’s in a different package. It’s more subtle. And he’s just getting started. Right now he’s building up his base of followers. So he can’t be as open about it. But, he lives in $6 million dollar home. He doesn’t get that by not preaching a prosperity gospel. And he preaches sowing into his “ministry “. Which is not scriptural! If you want to know him as he really is , check out ““heresy of Todd White.” on KZbin. He will condemn himself with his own words. He wouldn’t be called “a wolf in sheep’s clothing” if you could easily see that he’s a wolf. He says truth mixed with lies and just like Kenneth Copeland twists Scriptures at every sermon. But he seems so sincere and full of love that people fall for it. Satan is called the angel of light in the Bible because he “looks like the real thing “ but his path is eternal damnation.

Then please tell us , what does he answer when you sit down and ask him why he’s continually partnering with one of the biggest heretical preachers in the world? You must have asked him that at some point since you know him so well. I know I’m sounding sarcastic, but unless you have actually sat down with him and asked him why He mangles the gospel of Jesus Christ into a false gospel, or why he preaches that Jesus wasn’t actually God, then your friendship with him is not honest.

Having watched hours of Todd White and am working on viewing as much of Francis Chan videos... I agree with another comment. This video seems a bit deceptive from what I've seen of these men. Though there are elements of Todd White I disagree with, I don't recall him presenting a "prosperity" teaching. In a nutshell, I'd say his main message is how to take one's Christianity out of the church building and make it a very real part of your life. How to be a honest disciple every day. This video also seems problematic to me. Instead of criticizing another's view of Christ to people (essentially gossiping about people), why not present your understanding? If you have an opinion on "prosperity" teachings, share it. Support it with scripture. But let's be fair... The only real reason to put names like Francis Chan, Todd White, etc. is to get a video on your channel to pop up on a search for these men or so KZbin algorithms might "suggest" this video to folks who watch videos by those men.

You can find my view of the gospel by watching the film "American Gospel: Christ Alone". Todd White does identify himself within the Word of Faith prosperity movement, teaches many of those doctrines, and considers the biggest heretics in that movement to be his mentors (Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn). If you watch that film, you'll also see how he fakes some of his miracles. This isn't gossip. This video was made to get a response from Francis Chan (and it worked).

Nice salesmanship. Convenient that your response is another video you made and not an independent source. But again, the idea that life will be different is not the same as the Joel Osteen gospel that you’ll become wealthy and healthy. If life doesn’t change (because you are changed by the gospel) what is the point? Just my opinion.

R. S. R. S. Todd does teach that it’s always God’s will for you to be healthy and wealthy. He even says that Christian wealth is a way for unbelievers to be “jealous” (a way to attract them to the Faith- which is idolatry). The gospel promises suffering, but contentment in that suffering. It doesn’t promise health and wealth in this life... but the next life.
@AikiPrinciple
@AikiPrinciple 5 жыл бұрын
@@PopularGospel The gospel does promises suffering. It also promises hope... Hope for prosperity, health, forgiveness and salvation. Jeremiah 29:11 The issue with money is to not become a servant to the idol of wealth, but to make money a servant to your efforts to growing the Kingdom. Just like anything else in following the Way, if the tool provided by the Lord is used (or abused) with for the wrong motivation, it becomes sinful. Luke 16:10-11. The trick is not to become like Ananias and Sapphria (Acts 5:1-10), "give" out of selfish ego-based motivations and not be sincere with your giving. I have no doubt that if Todd White is guilty of wrong, the Lord will address that. My issue is it seems there are people claiming to be Christians who are jealous of another's ministry. They spend more time trying to take that ministry down because of their jealousy (or because they don't like another's understanding) than trying to helping the lost find the Gate. Remember Romans 14:1-4: "14 Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters. 2 One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. 3 The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them. 4 Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand." Tend to your own chores in growing the Kingdom as your talents allow and not to your desire to prove another servant "wrong".

I have concerns for Francis Chan, I think his discernment is blinded by "love" if you truly love someone you will tell them the truth. His evangelism is healing + money (blessings of health and wealth) minus talk of sin, repentance, replaced with “you’re amazing!” Todd believes and teaches all the Word of Faith doctrines, including it’s always Gods will to heal, that He will bless you financially if you sow seeds into his ministry, and most seriously... that Jesus didn’t live on earth as God, but as a man in right relationship with God. This is the core of the “little gods” doctrine which makes the believer on par with Christ (we can do the same miracles and live a sinless life like Jesus). It’s a satanic lie to deify man and demote Christ. That’s a Christ that can’t save.

Does your Bible have 1 Thessalonians in it? Because Paul explicitly states that every Christian will suffer, just as Christ did, and that we are to take joy in suffering, because when we suffer, we are squeezed from every direction, and this creates purity in the Christian and in the church. I am genuinely commenting so that you can know that what the prosperity guys teach is wrong. Even what you quote, the Psalms, you should reread without the prosperity lens. There are a WHOLE lot more laments, pruning, crying out to God, and destruction around the Psalmist than there is prosperity. Ultimately, I believe that every Christian will "live their best life." But their best life is not this one, it is the next.

The kingdom of God is not a matter of talk, but of power. There is no power where a people seek the healing above the Healer, Nor the giving more Giver. Men called by God preach about God. God must be the center of our teaching. Sadly, the New Apostolic Reformation is just very signs and wonders oriented. I'm not saying they don't happen. I'm saying that they're meaningless without God. Get alone with God. Listen to great expositors and not thrill seekers.

This video is short and takes snippets of different things both people were saying. I don’t believe this accurately represents them. If you have a problem with any prosperity look at Solomon and Joseph. You know Jesus never had a broken bone in his life, that was a promise for him. He healed all that came to him. God healed me of terrible migraines I used to get many different years. These migraines would last for a week and my friend prayed for me. I felt God’s power go into my hand and something in my heart changed. The pain didn’t go away right away, but I didn’t care as much any more and just wanted to love other people. The next day my reoccurring migraines stopped. -I don’t think either of them are preaching that if you don’t have health or wealth something is completely wrong or that you’re not following God. Todd’s stance, from what I’ve seen, is that God wants to have you, your heart and along with that comes your finances. So people can trust God in if he tells them to give lots away, even beyond your means. -Judge a tree by its fruit. Look for the good or evil that is being produced by their teaching. Also look for the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

My friend, you yourself just affirmed that you believe prosperity gospel in your comment (that it's always God's will to heal, and to prosper). So you don't believe Francis Chan is against the prosperity gospel? And you don't believe Todd White is for the prosperity gospel? (even though you just affirmed that it's always God's will to heal and to bless your finances- as Todd White does). Here's the full clip: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYrdhJtpeN6KgtU The only promises that come with the Christian life is suffering and persecution. Yes, some Christians are rich, and some are poor- but scripture doesn't promise prosperity or poverty for the believer. The Christian life is about being content in any circumstance (this was Paul's point in saying "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."). Also, to be against the prosperity gospel does not mean you have to believe that God doesn't heal today. So I'm not sure why you're trying to prove that He still does with your own experience.

Thanks for commenting. I'm still working on my personal theology according to scripture in some areas, so it's good to hear opposing messages or different thoughts. I had those verses that you shared in my mind while typing my message too. If you look at my response I didn't say that everyone has to have wealth or health. -Surely Jesus was beaten and crucified and raised from the dead for our justification, so he wasn't always 'healthy' in that sense. Paul too, like you said, was persecuted every where he went. (Don't forget the story where he was bitten by a poisonous snake, but wasn't harmed. Acts 28:5) He was also stoned nearly to death and somehow pretty miraculously after the believers gathered around him, got up and went back into the city the next day. Yes to be content in every circumstance is surely good. Just like Jesus. "Foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the son of man has no place to rest his head." (To me there are so many thoughts and beliefs people can have about scriptures so it's really good to look at them all together. Maybe from this one people can claim that all Christians today should be nomads, people without dwellings. Some people in life don't have dwellings now and that doesn't mean God doesn't love them. James says that the poor are rich in faith and should be rejoicing at their low standing. He loves us all the same. But some people do have houses and they can take people in that don't have houses.) What I see in the New Testament is always God's desire for good distribution. For the rich to not be too rich and the poor to not be too poor. More equality. There is a concept of God blessing people with what they need though and people reaping what they sow. Let's look at 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. So that is defiantly about money. Sometimes to be able to share money, you have to be blessed in some way right? In the video clip you showed of Todd he says, "The devil doesn't want you to get a revelation of finances ever, because if he does he loses control of you." This right here isn't talking about amassing wealth for just yourself, but about being a generous giver. (I did watch the short clip you sent me of the other person that doesn't agree with Todd and his connections with Kenneth Copeland. I don't know about Kenneth Copeland, so I'll look into that. But if you look at the person who posted that video at the bottom of their written message it says "The true Christ is both fully & truly God and fully and truly man. No one has or will ever do greater miracles than Christ, or live a sinless life like Christ." Obviously this person doesn't believe in Jesus's words, or doesn't know them very well. John 14: 12 "Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father." Also, we are called to live Holy once we are saved and in Galatians 5:16 it says "So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh." God's spirit helps us to live sinless once we are saved. In 1 John 1 -But if we do sin we have an advocate and if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us of all unrighteousness). Yes I did say Jesus healed all the came to him. Can you show me a place where he didn't heal someone? Here are some scriptures that might go against being healed all the time. --The place where the sorcerer is made blind. (Acts 13:11) Because he is filled with evil and opposing the truth, he is made blind, but only for a time. -Paul being blinded on his way to Damascus. -healed after 3 days. -In the book of Revelation it talks about people following an evil spirit being cast upon a sick bed. -1 Timothy 5:23 -Timothy is instructed to take some wine and not just drink water for his frequent illnesses. -Some people might mention Paul's thorn, but I believe that is linked to persecution, not to just some illness he always has to put up with. -The disciples of Jesus couldn't heal someone that asked. They were rebuked by Jesus. (Matthew 17:14-21, Mark 9:14-29, Luke 9: 37-42) Here's the reason Jesus gave them as to why the boy wasn't healed when they prayed. Matthew 17:19-21 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not drive it out?” 20 And He said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. 21 [“But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”] I could write more, but I really have to get ready and go to work haha. Quickly one last point. I think the main reason people oppose some of these things is because they want to believe God loves them in whatever situation they are in. This is completely true. For God so loved the world he gave his only son. But the place where people get caught up is that they believe that everything that happens is the will of God. The scriptures say to pray for God's will to be done and for God's kingdom to come. So obviously God's will is not always being done and there are some things he hates and wants to change.

It's possible that Francis just wasn't aware of some of the teachings of Todd. I have a friend who listened to a lot of Todd White, and completely rejected his teachings when he watched American Gospel: Christ Alone. He said he had never heard some of the heresy he teaches, since he listened to his podcast which is condensed to only 20 minute clips of his sermons. Francis has openly rejected the prosperity gospel, and has given up his whole life here in the U. S to even move to China to evangelize to the lost in a country that rejects Christ.

the GIANT point everyone seams to miss is that GOD loves US. he is the author of life, happiness, love, blessings and health but none of these things will ever compare with him. God does not promise us everything we could ever want on this earth but he does want good for us for he is the creator of goodness. the reason Jesus calls us to fallow him and deny ourselves is because if we choose blessings instead of him what we choose is worthless. Jesus himself openly confessed to god he did not want to endure the cross but he did it for our sake. if you think Jesus wants you to suffer you don't know the heart of god. it is the devil that wants your suffering. Jesus wants to be your father and king.

Chris Wolf and it was the Father’s will that Christ should suffer, and “it pleased the Lord to crush Him” (Isaiah 53:10). To say that God doesn’t will suffering in the Christian life for our good is completely backwards. Suffering produces sanctification, causing us to realize our dependance on God, and is something we are to rejoice in. It’s Satan that wants you to avoid suffering. Why would Jesus say “Get behind me Satan” to Peter after Peter told him he wouldn’t suffer and die? “From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day. Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, “God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You.” But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but man’s.” - Matthew 16:21-23

@@AmericanGospel i think your missing the whole point of these scriptures. i encourage you to go back to the beginning. who is god? he is a good father. our reason for being alive is to partake in his love and glorify him. yes he allows suffering but it is necessary due to our evil hearts to grow and trust you have that part right. but do you think god enjoys seeing his children suffer? do you enjoy watching your kids suffer when you discipline them? no. Satan hates us and wants us to believe god is vindictive and cruel. the context of the lord being pleased that Jesus would die and suffer is because he knew it would bring his children home not because he enjoyed watching the crucifixion. psalms 92 15 says there is no evil in god. the heart of god is love. we should thank god for blessings and trust him in trials. to seek out suffering in the name of Jesus is called masochism and that's not god will. i doubt you believe in that rubbish its more likely you misunderstood what i was saying.

Prosperity gospel is an interpretation to conform to human nature. Jesus as human, himself, suffered. Jesus said to follow him. To follow and to share in his sufferings that you may share in his glory in heaven and not only earthly things. Jesus came down to earth to guide us to heaven eternity which prosperity on earth cannot give you.

Edson Martinez i have to disagree with you here. This prosperity gospel that people like Todd preach does not lead people to salvation and is quite dangerous. It is a gospel that is not focused on God but is instead completely on the person. People follow this gospel only because they believe it will benefit them financially or health-wise. If you are truly saved then you pursue God not because it benefits you, but because of your love for Him and your desire to obey His commands. That includes during times of trial. If you are saved then you are called to look at trials like what is said in James 1:2-3 where you face it with joy, knowing that you will come out on the other side of it stronger in your faith than you were before. This prosperity gospel that people such as Todd White, Kenneth Copeland, Joel Osteen, Benny Hinn all teach tells us that God wants us to be extremely wealthy and prosperous in this life and that if your faith is strong enough, you will never experience trials. But to see that this isn’t true you really don’t have to look any further than any faithful person in the Bible. Paul, Job, David, and Peter were all men of great faith, yet they experienced great trials and persecution for it. To look at that and dismiss it in any way is just an example of a hardened heart that is sold on the lies of this false prosperity gospel. It makes me sad as well to see all of this conflict, but that’s because out of love for the lost, it is the duty of people who are saved to try and open other people’s eyes to the dangers of these false teachers who refuse to even consider changing after being rebuked.

Ugh... there is a HUGE difference between preaching that God wants prosperity for us vs the “Prosperity Gospel”. The Prosperity Gospel refers to fooling Christians into believing that they are guaranteed prosperity on earth if they follow Jesus which is WRONG. However, what Todd and Benny are teaching is that God FULLY DESIRES for us to have health and prosperity, but we also must expect that because of an earth given dominion by the devil and and earth of sin, we WILL be persecuted, condemned, ridiculed and hated, and must STILL choose to follow Christ. Both Todd and Benny teach this as well, but this youtuber is clearly quick to judge and does not watch everything these preachers say.

No church is perfect. I've been a Christian all my life and each church has some lacking or weakness. I attended an evangelical church while growing up. The doctrine is sound and the aim is to focus on a higher Christian living within oneself and to do the great commission. Materialism and prosperity is not the focus. If you're poor, it's okay. They don't really preach much about material wealth. What's lacking is the focus on the Holy Spirit. If someone's sick, the church prays but don't actively rebuke the sickness. Passive prayer in my opinion. I went to a Baptist church. The doctrine is sound but it bothered me so much that they just stood up with their hands on the side. No clapping, no joyful worship, no excitement for the Lord. I wanted so badly to raise my hands and cry out to the Lord but it was so awkward because no one did that. Then I went to another church. A pentecostal church but all they preached was me, myself and I. The focus was always how God can help us. Their preaching was 90% from the new testament forgetting that the old testament has a lot of great examples and redemption. I'm now in another pentecostal church. Great worship service, great people. I was sick and they actively prayed. I got healed by the grace of God. I feel comfortable and settled. I have one problem though. I feel like it's leaning towards prosperity gospel. I give my tithe and offering. I also secretly give for the Great Commission. However, I feel like most of the preaching in this church is how God blessed them financially. There's always a collection of some sort (Lord Jesus forgive me for thinking this way). Because of that, I feel like everyone is expected to give something. They always talk about how God blessed them with me houses, new cars, etc... I believe they're blessed but there are other things to preach about than money. My husband who's not a Christian yet mentioned that many times. He said that the message that he's getting is that if you won't give, God won't bless you. I give what is due to the Lord- the tithe and offering. I also give for the great commission but that's something that my heart really desires and that's not part of this church. However, because of too many collections in church, I feel forced to give while my heart is not really open to giving. I feel guilty yet I feel like I have the reason to feel that way

There is more to prosperity doctrine than you're suggesting. It doesn't matter if Todd preaches against the idolatry of wealth, or warns against being greedy- even Creflo Dollar does that (yet both Creflo and Todd live in mansions). Todd teaches that it is always God's will that we are healed and that we are wealthy. He identifies himself within the Word of Faith-prosperity movement, and considers men like Kenneth Copeland and Benny Hinn his mentors and fathers in the faith. Francis Chan is against this movement, yet calls Todd White a man of God (there's nothing deceptive in the editing). Please watch the documentary "American Gospel: Christ Alone" if you want to see it all explained.

Popular Gospel he lives in a house not a mansion. He lived in a broken down trailer and worked labour jobs for years. He gives away large amounts of money and never have I heard him preach anything about God making us wealthy. Just taking care of us and meeting our needs as scripture outlines. I have watched both those sermons. The editing is deceptive. Very deceptive and he saying the opposite of what is depicted here. He makes sure there are no ads on his KZbin page and so makes no money off them. He gives away almost all of his teachings for free. Makes free documentaries. If people can’t pay for the power and love conferences he lets them come for free. He only once asked for donations for the training centre. That’s more then I can say for most other ministers who always trying to sell books and gather support. He has the same criticisms of the prosperity gospel as Chan and well as the same call to give and live self sacrificing for others. Every where he goes he prays for healing not just with cameras on. Including hospitals. His videos are on the streets man not in a controlled environment. The biggest criticism you can say is he hangs out with some wrong people. That doesn’t make him wrong.

@@Dead2MyselfMinistries he lives in a 1.5 million dollar home. He's also been trying to raise 19 million through donations for LCU and their new building. Again, Todd and many others prosperity preachers will say "this isn't about the money, it's about Jesus", or "It's not about me being rich, it's about being able to be radically generous with what you're been given." Those statements don't get someone off the hook for preaching prosperity. Todd still believes that it's always God's will to heal, and to prosper you financially. Those aren't promises that are made in scripture. This teaching has huge negative impact on the faith of those who don't get healed, or who are currently living in poverty. They get angry with God because they are told that it's THEIR lack of faith, or hidden sin that is the problem. Todd is taking the promises of scripture which are for the next life, and makes them for THIS life now (Your Best Life Now). On top of this, Todd's view of the nature of Christ is heretical. He doesn't believe that Christ was fully God in the incarnation- that he only did miracles as a man, and lived a sinless life as merely a man, and laid every bit of divinity aside. The biblical view is that Christ was fully God in the incarnation (yes he did his miracles through the Holy Spirit, and by the will of the Father, because they are a trinity and have always done their works together). Todd takes the miracles, and sinless life of Jesus and makes it merely an example for us to follow (he believes he is currently living a sinless life because of this. See my other video). The miracles and sinless life of Jesus were meant to point to His deity, not our potential. I can go on and on about the errors of Todd White's man-centered gospel ("The cross isn't a revelation of your sin, it's the revealing of your value."). Todd is teaching that God saved us because he thought we were worth it. That statement suggests that we merit salvation (which is opposed to grace, which is unmerited). Todd thinks that fake healings, followed by "Jesus loves you bro" is the gospel (that somehow we can live or do the gospel). The gospel isn't about what we do, it's a message about what Christ has already done.
@PopularGospel
@PopularGospel 5 жыл бұрын
Todd White's defense of Kenneth Copeland is that Kenneth Copeland is radically generous (despite his mansion and having his own airport and private jets). But he's missing the point. There's nothing wrong with having wealth. What is wrong is making your wealth off of the false promises that God will bless you if you give to their ministry. The main issue with Copeland is his view of Christ. Copeland believes that "The believer is as much of an incarnation as was Jesus of Nazareth." He teaches that Adam in the garden (pre-Fall), and us as Christians are the same as Jesus of Nazareth. Copeland even goes onto say, "He (Adam) was not subordinate to God even. Adam in the garden of Eden was God manifested in the flesh!" This view of Christ is much like mormonism- a deification of man (to "little god" status) and a demotion of Christ to being merely a man with the Holy Spirit like us.

Todd (and all prosperity preaches) don't deny that God wills for us to suffer persecution. They do deny that he wills for us to be sick, or to be in poverty. Apparently they're cool with God being okay with us being killed, but not okay with God allowing us to get the flu. Read the book of Job. God is sovereign over Satan and gives him permission to strike death and disease on Job and his family (even Jesus tells Peter that "Satan has asked permission to sift you like wheat, yet I have prayed that your faith will not fail."). Todd also denies the sovereignty of God over our suffering/sickness.

The devil wants the worst for you and the more faith you have in God the more temptation the devil will bring to your door step. The path to God is narrow. Have you been lead astray? Do you need to be guided back? When you sin you must acknowledge that sin and know that it is keeping you from God. From this point you get to choose whether or not you follow God's will or your own. The path is narrow the easy path is the worldly path. Jesus tells us to turn the other cheek. We have he tells us to love our neighbor as our self. Christianity you need to expect persecution for the perfect world that you seek has been created not through socialism but through God. If you don't find persucaction then something is wrong, you are probably in heaven. I have lived in America all my life and near Chicago the only thing that is preached here is Republicans and Christians are bigoted. What do Christian's do? They love their neighbors and spread the word of God. Republicans don't have the same standards but over half of Republicans are practicing Christians so we should be able to spread the word of God to those that haven't heard his will. Through out the whole world.

Peter and Paul had never lived in extravagant lifestyles. What money both men had received it went back to the people. No camels were bought with Cruze control in them, and no multimillion dollar homes were bought to live like the rich do. Both men,, Paul and Peter were humble men that lived what they believed. If a preacher has to have the finest of everything he cannot look one in the eye and say that they don't covet wealth. The people who stand before the Lord saying how they cast the dead out, healed the sick, and had done many wonderful works in Jesus name will be telling the Lord the truth, they have done all they have said, but something is amiss. Could it be the love of money, since it is the root of all evil? I would say most likely since they covet the finest things that money can buy.

Popular Gospel OK, I watched the video and read the description. All I’m trying to say is anybody can make a video about anybody and make it seem like something that’s not true. Todd isn’t able to defend himself in a video that copies and paste certain statements out of context. He saying his testimony is more relatable to someone then the gospel, the first time you interact with them. That doesn’t mean you can’t also share the gospel, I agree, i’ve shared with people my testimony first because like Todd said they can’t say it didn’t happen it’s my life. And the rest is just garbage. He’s preaching the gospel and telling sinners they’re worth it. Go attack sin in peoples lives, why do people spend so much time hating on people who they say our prosperity preachers. Life is too short to hate on people who are preaching Jesus. If he saying something that’s not biblical let God take care of it. But why spend so much time making videos and saying stuff about him when people don’t know him. And he’s buying sinners lunch and praying for them to get healed. Why is that bad LOL

Y’all, everyone is a little bit off in their theology, no one has a complete full understanding of God. I’ve seen both of them speak and yeah sometimes they might be a little off but THEY R STILL GODS CHILDREN. This is taking bits and pieces of what they preach and twisting it in a bad light.

Your video is a bit confusing to me. In your snippets Francis seems to deny the prosperity gospel because it contradicts the teachings of Jesus and the apostles, but his current actions of lining up with IHOP and consorts is at least worrisome. What was the message you wanted to convey with this clip?

Thomas you got the message. The point was to show that there’s a disconnect here with Francis’ understanding of who is teaching prosperity doctrine.

@PopularGospel
@PopularGospel 4 жыл бұрын
That's the point. Our natural sinful desires are self-centered. Sometimes being broke is better for your spiritually, vs. having all the riches of the world. Satan offered the kingdoms of the world to Christ during his temptation in the wilderness, and he's appealing to that same sinful desire in the prosperity gospel. There's nothing inherently wrong with wealth, but God wants you to be content in whatever circumstance.

@@theophiluslartey9371 So God has a better will for me than Jesus, Peter, Paul, James, John, Matthew, Bartholomew (who was skinned alive), Matthias, Andrew, Philip, Stephen etc.? They certainly didn't prosper, as a matter of fact the suffered horrible lives and died some of the most cruel and horrific deaths imaginable. Acts 5:40-41 They took his advice; and after calling the apostles in, they flogged them and ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and then released them. So they went on their way from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for His name. 2 Corinthians 11:24-28 Five times I received from the Jews thirty-nine lashes. Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent in the deep. I have been on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my countrymen, dangers from the Gentiles, dangers in the city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers on the sea, dangers among false brethren; I have been in labor and hardship, through many sleepless nights, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure. Apart from such external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for all the churches.

@@wuzacke the description shows that Todd White believes and preaches the prosperity gospel. That’s the key issue. Kenneth Copeland is a false teacher, and it doesn’t matter how much money he’s given to a ministry that boasts about it’s “decisions” for Christ (that’s unbiblical). A great majority of those decisions are likely false converts because that’s what revivalism produces. True revival is a sovereign work of the Spirit by the means of the gospel preached, not from the will of man.

Mandy Dee nothing is out of context. Todd is literally known for evangelism by blessing; giving money to and “healing” people to while telling them how amazing and wonderful they are (without ever telling them who God is or why they need a savior from a holy, righteous God). Todd believes it’s always Gods will to heal and for a Christian to prosper financially, and considers Kenneth Copeland his mentor.

Todd White is not a prosperity teacher. He believes in being generous and lives it out. He believes God will provide your needs if you seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and that He wants to bless us. But He certainly doesn't believe that you become a Christian with an intention of getting rich. He preaches that we need to lay down our lives in every way when we give God our lives and not to let money be our God. I have listened to a lot of his teaching. Hope you all can see that too. Blessings

Todd White believes that it is always God's will to heal. He also believes it's always God's will that you are wealthy (or that you prosper) as he says in his own words here. It doesn't matter if he warns about not being greedy (Todd himself lives in a mansion by the way). The idea that it's always God's will that you are healthy and wealthy is prosperity doctrine. Todd identifies himself in the Word of Faith-prosperity gospel movement, which has other doctrines as well (little gods, positive confession, etc.). His mentor is Kenneth Copeland, and he often promotes Benny Hinn (in fact, he claims to have received his healing anointing from Benny Hinn and Randy Clark).
@MaybeII
@MaybeII 5 жыл бұрын
@@PopularGospel I can't speak to the people he calls his mentors and friends and I understand that is concerning. But what Todd White believes and what I understand the prosperity gospel to be is definitely different. The prosperity gospel is coming into Christianity with the idea that God will give you everything you want and the more you give the more you get, and you can 'name it and claim it'. Quoting Wikipedia, 'Prosperity theology views the Bible as a contract between God and humans: if humans have faith in God, he will deliver security and prosperity.' It makes it very wooden and unrelation and allows you to use God to your own advantage. That is different from what Todd teaches. Yes, he believes it is God's will for healing (I'm fairly convinced of that from the Bible as well and we could have a discussion about that) and 'prosperity'. 3 John 1:2 - Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. - The Bible does promise that God will supply our needs - Matthew 6:31-33 Todd is also very careful to say that money and good circumstances cannot (should not) be our idol and that God is OK with you having things/money but He isn't OK with those things having you, and thus when a bad circumstance/loss/sickness comes we don't need to respond in fear or anxiety. Here is a video of Todd's beliefs about 'the prosperity thing'. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zoe1nnptmbtsis0 I think the difference is that people who believe the prosperity gospel come to 'know' God/give him their lives for the sake of blessing, whereas people like Todd follow God no matter what situation it leads to, and yet he does see in the Bible where God blesses the righteous as they seek Him first. In the video I shared he tells the testimony of his family losing their only guaranteed source of income and he counted it joy because he knew God would supply his needs, rather than rebuking the situation he trusted God to provide. In addition, there can be works of the enemy to bring suffering that we should oppose. Just because something is happening to someone i.e. sickness, government oppression etc to allow suffering doesn't necessarily mean it is the will of God for those people to suffer. That is why we are encouraged to pray for His will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. If He was controlling everything in the world then he wouldn't have asked us to pray to change it.
