"Veteran-owned" is meaningless. Quality and expertise is what matters.
@ArmatisReviewsАй бұрын
It's all up to the consumer in my opinion. Some people absolutely want to support veteran-owned as often as they can. But I agree with you that quality matters a whole lot as well. I like to buy veteran-owned when I can and it meets my needs/price, but those things unfortunately don't always line up.

Im late to the comments, but getting ready to purchase the Howitzer 70, and looking at reviews. I realize the test results are somewhat subjective, relegated to feel and the visual of the recoil, and difficult to verify the percentage of reduction. But, its easy to see in the video there is a difference. But I have to wonder how much of that difference is due to the added pound+ from the saddled shells, the saddle and the weight of the muzzle brake itself adding additional mass to the hole puncher. I have fired the Escort BullTac pump (similar to the KS7) and the BullTac semi auto (almost 1lb. heavier) side by side and the heavier semi auto had noticeably less recoil.
@ArmatisReviews2 ай бұрын
Oh I am sure the added weight of the shell carrier + shells and brake. Admittedly that was a flaw in my testing back then. Even still, I only remember seeing a noticeable difference with slugs and maybe buckshot. I didn't notice much of a difference with stuff similar to target loads.

Does the carrier get in the way at all when you are racking the slide?
@ArmatisReviews3 ай бұрын
@@Gr8one220 It perhaps could if you are using the factory handguard and have large hands. I could see the possibility of your fingers wrapping up and hitting the shells. But if you are using any kind of vertical foregrip or angled foregrip (which in my opinion, you should be using with this shotgun) then it won't get in the way at all.
@Gr8one2203 ай бұрын
@@ArmatisReviews thank you so much, I was so on the fence about this shell carrier and I wondered if it ever loosened up and what the rubber things were for. I would love to just pick your brain about some of the purchases but I also don't want to occupy too much of your time. I think I saw your muzzle brake video and was curious how it was working out for you
@ArmatisReviews3 ай бұрын
@@Gr8one220 I'd be happy to answer any questions I can. I don't have this shotgun and carrier anymore so anything I answer will be based off of memory. The rubber things are inserts that go through each shell holder hole just a little bit. This allows the rubber to flex and let the shell in, but creates friction so that the shell stays in place. Basically the rubber inserts are to help hold the shells into the carrier holes. The muzzle brake is beastly. It looks awesome and it works well with slugs, buckshot, hybrids, etc. You can feel a good recoil reduction with those. But not much recoil reduction with target loads.

I think it makes sense that it reduces recoil more on slugs than shot, if the general design was intended for the howitzer, that fires slugs not shot.

@@Khorsenn honestly don't remember since I've had that sight on it for a long time. Haven't used the irons in a long time. I'd guess it's fine but probably not as good as a traditional stock since you just have two rods and less arch near the top for a cheek weld.

Shoot super high velocity ammo. It recommends it.
@ArmatisReviews4 ай бұрын
The newer models with the two springs doesn't say anything about needing to use high velocity ammo. In fact the manual states it comes with two springs and the smaller spring is intended for standard velocity ammo which I still had issues with: Information: The FireFly pistol has been constructed according to updated knowledge of modern gun manufacturing for caliber .22. We have therefore decided to make an adjustment to the loads that have priority for use with the FireFly, which are the two major groups, utility and high-speed rounds. So to increase the round compatibility, we provide two slide springs for every pistol. The bigger bored version is designed for high-speed loads and is fitted in the pistol with delivery. The simple coiled smaller spring (marked white) is for standard loads and is supplied with the pistol.

Just a general note on muzzle brakes. They work by redirecting the force of the gases pushing the projectile down the barrel, so the more force, the better they work. The recoil reduction will be much more noticeable with 3 inch magnum loads than with skeet loads. In your hand, a weight difference of half an ounce is harder to percieve than a weight difference of half a pound. It's a scaling thing, and actual recoil is often different than perceived recoil.😉

It doesn't look like Hi-Tech Custom Concepts makes the Howitzer70 MB for any shotgun other than KSG. Perhaps it's possible to find a KSG to Beretta/Benelli thread adapter (Tavor uses Beretta/Benelli threads from what I am seeing online) but doing a quick google search I didn't find an adapter. But perhaps with some deep digging you can find one. Or if you have a machinist shop nearby perhaps they can make you one. But I am not sure how goofy an adapter would look with the MB. You could also reach out to Hi-Tech Custom Concepts and see if they can thread one in Beretta/Benelli threads for you. Can't hurt to ask.

Would you still recommend the muzzle brake to new buyers, does that makes this much difference to spend on this over-priced piece of metal? OR this is just a matter of practice and amount of shots fired and getting used to the gun and do not HAVE to buy thing, please?
@ArmatisReviews9 ай бұрын
It is absolutely not necessary for the function of the gun. It is large, adds weight, and is a bit pricey. Your gun will function fine without it. I did not notice a significant reduction in recoil with target loads. I did notice an improvement with slugs. If you primarily plan on shooting slugs (which most people don't) then I could probably make the argument that it's worth it. But if you are mostly shooting cheap target loads, it won't help with recoil much. And it just adds bulk. You absolutely do not HAVE to buy this for your gun to work or be enjoyable. It's up to you. It does look pretty awesome, though :)

I know it has been more than three years since you made this video, but i want to thank you. I am all 300 BLK. I don't even own a 5.56 gun. While I have probably 30 AR15 mags, only one is for 300 BLK. I'm not sure how I got the Amend2 mags, but I have three 30 rounders that I have never used. So decided to load up a couple and try them out this week, which is why I am watching your video. I had real problems loading them up. I couldn't use my Lula Strip loader because the mags don't have the rear dimples to slide the loader into. The regular Lula loader kind of worked, until I got over 20 rounds in the mag. Then it jammed up and I had to hand load the rest of the rounds in the mag. Because of the difficulties loading the mags, I decided I needed to search KZbin and see the results others have had and I found your video. Thank you again for making the video. I may make a video about my experience and if I do, I will post a link to yours if you don't mind.

@ArmatisReviews so I ground down the ramp and polished it off to make it smooth. I shot birdshot in this video and didn't notice any issues. Shotgun shells have a wad cup that holds the projectiles together as it travels down the barrel.
