The Ending of Bayonetta 3 WILL be officially explained by Kamiya himself through Bayonetta 4.
The tweet that YungSulty mailed over explains how Kamiya is aware of the fact “when Bayo 4 comes out, [he’s] sure there will be people who say “You added that as an afterthought,”. This honestly makes me think that there is that sliver of chance that the 2 original Bayonettas are returning just by deducing his deduction of the reaction of the fans.
To have a DLC or even a whole next game to give up that confirmed closure for Bayonetta 3, ok.. fine I’m going to stay optimistic and like the mystery - so as of tweet-level confirmation, Bayonetta 4 will hopefully recount the events of Bayonetta 3.

@@allanasifuina896 I have a feeling they’ve already started planning the development for bayo 4 before bayonetta 3s release date. I mean think about this: Bayo 3 release took us nearly 6 years after the first announcement. And bayonetta 3s 1st official gameplay trailer was around September 2021. Now if we assume the game was practically almost finished at that time, perhaps they were already planning on what the plot/gameplay features could be for bayo 4 since they had about a little over a year (October 2022) until bayonetta 3 releases. I’m not saying it was completely in development stages before bayo 3 got released but what I am saying is that there’s a high chance that bayo 4 was discussed and planned before the release of bayo 3. Fingers crossed that if they did already have a nice long discussion of bayo 4, then it hopefully won’t take too long. But again, I’d rather have it take time than be rushed (as long as we don’t have to wait 10 years💀)

There's no way this series can continue with a "spin off" character. He saw the sales, caught the feedback from the ending, and knew funding support will be on the way for another title... haha guarantee bayo4 will either be she was just "hiding", "let's bring her back to life" series, or a full reboot. We have to be honest about these things, sure she's cool, but she's definitely not a "Bayonetta" by any means, definitely not unique in terms of design or appeal. I don't think you can essentially market a character like her and actually get folks to buy your game. Bayonetta is such an endearing, charming egnima. Her attitude, demeanor, style is VERY hard to replicate.. where as the punk rock, edge lord from the future character "Viola" has been done to death. Viola fate seems SIMILAR with Nero from DMC5... think about it, with DMC's name alone, fans who haven't even touched the series will still point to Dante and Vergil. Hence why we're getting these "regretful" tweets now, because they've essentially killed a "Mickey Mouse" for an "Oswald the Rabbit". Bayonetta will be back.

Anyone coming from the outside will recognize Bayonetta over Viola instantly, a majority bought this game specifically for Bayonetta herself. Answer this equation, if you showcase the first Bayo 4 at the next big gamer convention to build hype for the game, which will make the crowd roar in a thunderous applause: Bayonetta, or Viola? The developers know this, they have to appease both the fans and share holders, they're not going to throw in Viola in the scene, then call the game Bayonetta 4. They need the actual cheeky Bayonetta for the actual game, Bayonetta 4. I mean at this point, if you are insisting on making Viola a lead without Cereza in the game, you might as well rename the game at that point to avoid disappointment. You put Bayonetta 4 as the title, people are going to expect to see Bayonetta herself, which time and all in tact.

i LOVED bayo 3 in the beginning. i really did. but through time i started to dislike it. gameplay was great for me, despite Viola personally, but the story really just ruined it for me. im not going to get too deep into it, but im really trying my hardest to love this game. i’ve spent so much time with 1 & 2 that i need to show the same love to 3. im also trying my hardest to like Viola lmfao. to me she’s cringey and too try hard. she kinda reminds me of Chloe Price from Life Is Strange, and i LOVED Chloe. maybe it’s because when i first played LIS i was able to relate to her because i was a 15 year old trying to find myself. and maybe that’s how i have to see Viola

Welp, you were right. As suggested we are getting more CEREZA. There is no other way to state it as direct as this... kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmmwqnWmg8t1g5I Pretty sure if Viola was going to be the lead, in that speech there would have been some mentioning of her, or they would have left it ambiguous as "Bayonetta" in that speech, and I'm pretty sure if they were only referring to the next game Bayonetta Origins he would have said "next story" instead of "next stories". Viola is too generic to be a lead, unfortunately her emo punk rock character has been done to death. There's too much story and unknowns to Cereza's world, with her being pretty unique and interesting than your normal character. To kill off your main lead for a secondary character would be insane to your IP in marketing and brand that WON you an prestigious award and netted sales. More to that too, they made Viola feel very different from Cereza in terms of gameplay. I doubt they would have done that just to have Viola come back in a supposed fourth game fighting exactly like Cereza. This pretty much deals it that we're definitely seeing the return of Cereza.

Slightly unrelated, but I have a theory about some loose ends in the game; Bayo 3's verse cards, Bayo 2's memories, Dark Eve, Whittingham Bayo (B0), and Cutie J. So first off, there's two versions of Bayonetta in 3 that have a near identical counterpart. Bayo 1's is B0, and Bayo 3's is Dark Eve. Moving onto Bayo 2's memories, she's implied to have experienced near identical events to Bayo 1's story, which she herself has a flashback of and Luka references. This means that a second Cerezita is part of the equation now. If the doll and verse cards Bayo 3 has in the Gates of Hell is anything to go by, she too has gone through the events of Bayonetta 1 and 2 in her own timeline. Meaning three versions of Cerezita overall. The first, from Bayonetta 1 goes on to become Bayo 3. That much seems to be an undisputed fact. However, she remains the only one to have seemingly awakened her version of the Left Eye. So sure. She gets to be unique for obvious reasons. The other two though? It'd make sense if the Cereza that Bayo 3 encountered saw her as "Mummy" and copied her style, thus making her the original form of Dark Eve, which leaves the Cereza that Bayo 2 encountered the position of B0 (my less likely theory). The only other influence backing up my B0 theory is the direct references to Wonderland used in Bayo 2, which can tie in her Cereza as Viola's mother. As for Bayo 3's verse cards, she's implied to have also met a version of Loki or Aesir. The Records of Time: End chapter is implied to be non canon or alternate, and could easily be Bayo 3's version of events. It also might now be safe to consider Bloody Fate a canon part of Bayo 3's timeline thanks to Jeanne. Jeanne is confirmed to teach highschool in BF, and Cutie J is her alter ego, which I'm pretty sure is to shield her identity from the students etc. Bayo 3 is the only timeline where Cutie J seems to have some level of actual influence instead of just an easter egg, given that her magic straight up changes and her bio description mentions Cutie Arts as her special move or something. ^Something that just twisted my triple Cereza theory however, is the Bloody Fate/QTJ theory. Given that the voice is very specifically the same in the picture book as little Cereza in BF (understandably, yes, also Babynetta in the time challenges), I'd reckon that one is B0 whilst Bayo 2's Cereza is Dark Eve.
