3:45 No It's not weird. I used to do that too! Literally just strolling down games and download anything that looked interesting. Actually this is how I first found "Dumb ways to die" game too.

I thought I was the only one who would randomly go to the app store and mindlessly scroll through all of the apps and games for no reason whatsoever back in those days. It genuinely felt nice to know that someone else used to do that as well, and it wasn't just a ME thing.

nahhh. Australian psas have always been incredibly gruesome. there are some very violent australian distracted driving psas.

So I downloaded DWTD again while watching this video, unfortunately it has been updated over the years and now has fallen victim to the same thing all mobile games do nowadays. Ads gallore, specialty items and "character customisation". I opened it, played one round, closed it again. with having been shown like 5 ads in a single run you just can't binge play this no more. I remember being able to fill over an hour with this silly little game teaching me not to do dumb shit. But unfortunately, even with DWTD 2 & DWTD 4 the original has fallen as well.

Hey, love your videos, saw that you flashed animal jam classic's logo on screen for half a second at one point in the video 😭It's a great game to do a video on, so many things to discuss, I wholeheartedly recommend it. If you need any help with information on the lore, stories, trading scene, I'd be happy to help.

My mom legit banned me from listening to this song and watching the video bc she thought it was horrible with all the death. I didn’t realize it was an ad either lol

It's also worth noting that the theme for each faction (plus the Illuminate now!) actually increase in intensity with PROXIMITY to the enemy. You can genuinely tell if there's an automaton patrol or bug hive nearby based on whether or not there's music playing, and the theme will grow in intensity as the enemy approaches, before kicking into full swing if you're spotted. The dynamic changes help the music feel like more than a disjointed soundtrack, it's YOUR soundtrack, synced to your actions.

psa really worked for me, it made me realise how easily and mundanely you could get hurt or die, and made me watch out for myself and others alot more. like stopping someone messing with wild animals, a sister getting toast out with a fork, a kid over the yellow line at the train station. then again, i could be an outlier because im autistic and take things quite literal but based on memories of kids in my class talking about it i think not, it was funny but also serious as it was most of our first time realizing our own and others morality.

I lived in Melbourne during all of this and you couldn’t go on any public transport without seeing some sort of DWTD ads. Then the game came out and you have full of competitions at school to see who was best, and that bloody song is like a dog whistle to my generation now 😂😂
