“I’m confused about how” Literally the way he said. Whenever he sings his song, the river will break its banks and leave gold at their feet. The trees will bend down and give them fruits, nuts, and syrup. The birds will fly down and lay feathers upon the ground as a bed of down.

They end quickly because each is going right into the next song for the most part

You should react to BrittPowwPixel’s as well!! Her Scylla is haunting

Quick Note: I don’t know if enough people are aware that Hermes is also a Psychopomp guiding soul of mortals from the mortal realm to Hades. That’s why he operated the railroad in this depiction.

Usually during the instrumental parts and little solos (except for certain songs) the cast is dancing, so without the context it can be confusing what’s happening, when I first listened to it I was a little confused about why those parts were so long as well 😅

Honestly there are multiple free performances that hadestown has on KZbin from various events, including a music video to All I’ve ever known. I think it might be better than animatics cause you can actually see the vibe of what they’re going for with the staged musical.

I loved Gigi’s animations but I absolutely love @BrittPowwPixel s so much They’re so much detail into the design and depth and they’re so dark.

it's so funny how much Jorge is having Polites haunt the narrative. Love In Paradise is callbacks: the song and i love it

Jorge's early drafts of Hermes was inspired by Hadestown's Hermes. Supposedly, Epic's Hermes was going to be a younger version of this one but Jorge ultimately decided to do his own interpretation-- which is what we got in the concept album.

Whats missed during the violin interlude is that Orpheus and Eurydice do the rated PG nasty onstage

if you're interested, there is "Hadestown With Subtitles and Broadway Cast Recording" here on yt. it's basically a bunch of slimes edited together with the audio of the cast recording, so you have an idea of what's happening on stage, but have good audio as well. sometimes the mouths are a bit out of sync, but like, whatever, it's awesome <3 thx for the reactions! :)

you mentioned you read percy jackson, so i'm legally obligated to recommend the lightning thief musical haha. also, i think you'd enjoy the legally blonde musical just bc that's always a fun time (and it even has a recording you could watch!) on the less light-hearted side of things, maybe falsettos? it has a pro-shot too

The song called “When The Chips are Down” has two amazing animatics, one by sealbatross and one by murky musito. The second version also includes the next song, however, so depending on how you section the videos, it might not work.

Great video! I really like that you are doing the lyric videos. Also a super fun musical I recommend is The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals! The whole thing was filmed and is on youtube. There are so many memes and just iconic moments from it. I think you’d really like it!!

Agreed. Their voices are a perfect match for each other. They met during the development of Hadestown, fell in love, and are still together today though they have both moved to other work.

I love these reactions, thank you for sharing. A small suggestion. Epic II and Chant have a pretty seemless, and i think powerful transition. Pleass dont split them up if possible.
@Phasmania6 күн бұрын
I love Reeve Carney’s voice so much, it’s so unique, light, and calming in a way where you can totally see him as Orpheus with a voice from the gods. Same with Hades, you’ll immediately know that’s Hades even if they didn’t announce him before he first sings

In the Actual odyssey it would have been 12 years by this point because all the islands and places they go to they stay a pretty long time. Seems now with the wisdom saga that stays true since things from the thunder saga in the poem last months as well so adding 7 years to the end of thunder saga would equal out to the 20 years of wisdom saga

The songs feel like they have abrupt ends because the musical is a sung-through. Every song leads right into the next, with no dialogue in between.
