The brief moment there is no thought! The Enlightenment. Excellent explanation. Very difficult to explain by logic, but somewhere there, it must be. We know that we are not that image. (i.e. saying it is a mirage, which is not real). A direct understanding that this is reality. Thought is the sickness of the Mind. Past reflections, present experiences and future imaginations are understood clearly, that it is not me. There is nothing to behold as me, no event taken as mine, no physical body belongs to me. Excellent! Thank you very much !

"Thought is the sickness of the mind"??? Without thought, there is no mind. Not even consciousness (the Hindu mystics got this completely wrong), since consciousness is always intentional. What is 'pure consciousness' supposed to be? It has no history, hence no individuality, it has no world available, nothing to experience but... itself: eternal navel-gazing of an empty mind in search of itself? Great??

This was super helpful. At first, I found the Phaedo difficult. But after rereading Homer, the Pre-Socratics and a few of the other dialogues, I understand it better now. Pierre’s insight is very appreciated. He is so very good at explaining things. I am now on to the commentaries of the Phaedo by Olympidorus and Damascius

I think Grimes is wrong. He implies that one cannot stop thinking. If you meditate concentrating on sensation. You get to a point where thought disappears. There's only sensation. Sensation precedes thought. You just move your awareness to sensation.

Pierre Grimes is a wealth of knowledge! Would have liked to have heard him talk at length about Plato! BTW, regarding Chinul's book "Korean Approach to Zen", how does Hwadu differ from Hua Tou / Gongfu meditation?

Metaphysical Realism: Reality = That which is. Since only That which is can either affirm or deny that there either is or is not That which is, there is That which is. That which is, that is nothing in particular (actual), is by definition everything in general (potential) - the All in One in All, the all-inclusive Absolute One without a second. "There is no such thing as security in this world, only opportunity". - Gen. Douglas MacArthur - Core Self = That I am Essential Self = What I am Social Self = Who I am (ego) We have to 'make' it happen outwardly, and 'let' it happen inwardly. God = Creative Intelligence Creative Intelligence is omnipresent. We are all It to an unknowable/inexhaustible extent, as the facets of a Diamond are 'both' distinct from each other 'and' the Diamond itself. Love is the recognition of our shared Being. Because potential for actualization is Infinite, actualization of potential is Eternal, for only Eternity can fully embrace Infinity. We actualize our potential by dreaming our experience and experiencing our dream. Primordial ignorance presents an apparent limit. Is it a limit or a creative guideline? No wrong answer - only a choice of perspective. Truthformation: What appears as a limit is in Reality a creative guideline. It is identification with the temporal that blocks awareness of our Eternal nature. Freedom is a Way of Being. Being aware of being aware is unmodulated by the 5 senses, thus unfettered and the resonant frequency state closest in alignment with the frequency of the all-inclusive Absolute where all things are possible (Wisdom and Understanding). Every choice we make generates a corresponding timeline of experience. The rhythm of Life is a movement and a rest. The optimum (Heaven), is always found somewhere between the extremes of too much and too little (hell). We seek to become Master Wayfarers because the only destination is a new Way of Being. Ultimately, our most significant choice in Life is between unconscious compulsive reaction and conscious creative response. United we stand..... Happy trails! Namaste'.

Here we are in 2022 & we now know tribes in Africa do exactly this on a community level on Ibogaine and similar things are beginning to happen in a therapeutic context with respect to addiction, end-of-life anxiety & PTSD. I, for one, have some hope for enlightened applications towards social enhancement, understanding and meaning-making & wisdom seeking.

Thank you. Thank you so much. I am so grateful for this lecture. This has helped me more than I could have ever believed. To have stumbled across such a succinct and eloquent encapsulation of Alan's work has been a revelation. For me, stumbling through the works of J.Krishnamurti, Alan Watts, Yung and his contemporaries, this lecture has done so much, I am unable to express it. But the desire to reach out to you was so strong that, well I had to say something. This video for me is grace ❤️

Check 1 too... I'm guessing he's Jewish meaning mixed with Hashemite or Lebanese like the Bible says Jezreel sons of Ahad they now a day's change identity like they're last names say Allah's are King's , Al Bin in other terms as the Real Majesty of Spain and they expanded from one to another like the Asian Dynasty in the far east most likely influenced the Asian minor known as the Middle East it's all tribal and when 2 world's collide they produce a combination of each other's traditions but other's are too deep for the other that separates the identity from it's origin to branch off into it's own tree not necessarily in the same wilderness but region are next to each one but with them each producing different fruit they are still fruit but a bit foreign to the variety but not the seed and some are too foreign that the climate just can't make them bush grow in amongst the tree. So reality we are not able to co-exist if the soil being based region poisons the growth of the variety and produce tumble weeds this is not easy to define as vagrants but they also have variety although we can't grasp the concept in a frequency that flows from one to another if their be bad wiring in the connection leaving ground wires to be non effective as negative and positive but if this is not clear to either of the 2 ground wires are important to the electrical power just without the amount of currency needed by the other 2 it's force is also found in nature its natural than the other 2. Peace ✌🏼

The days are coming in which I will make the New Covenant with the Israel. In these days, I will put my Law in their bodies and write it on their hearts. I will be their King and they will be my people. And they will say no more: ''Know the King''. They will all know me. I will forgive their iniquity with Judah and I will remember their sin no more. I'm back. The Kingdom is here.
