Do you dry your eucalyptus for wreath making? I tried using glycerine, they just ended up a bit black, maybe just let dry naturally on wreath. Great video, thank you

Hello how long can the flowers be in the boxes wrapped with paper? Thanks
@fierceblooms4 ай бұрын
Years! Depending on what flowers- helichrysum for example will keep its saturated colour for at least 3 years whereas white dried flowers will “fade” more quickly- hope that helps

Have you been able to dry hypericum berries, retaining the bright red colour . My hypericum is looking its best mid Summer, long gone come Christmas and I'd love to be able to retain a noticeable red
@fierceblooms6 ай бұрын
short answer is no Alison - have an experiment and give it plenty of time - i suspect they may tuen to black rather then retain their red but yoi never know
@alisondrennan25926 ай бұрын
@fierceblooms yes I suspect they'll be black! Buy I'll pick a few early while they're at their best and try maybe to dry them quickly if that makes any sense. It would be great if they even had a hint of red .thanks for coming back to me .

So if they've actually shrivelled up or disappeared completely, they died? (about 2 weeks in potting soil in a greenhouse)

I live in the uk Its now april Is it too late for me to plant ranunculus corms? And if i did, would i get flowers from them this summer?
@fierceblooms7 ай бұрын
My honest answer is I’ve never done that and they don’t like the heat - you can store the corms in the fridge for October
@ladysouthwold7 ай бұрын
I have grown ranunculus for the first time this year. It never said to pre-soak on the box so I didn’t do this and they are all coming up and looking healthy so not sure what I did right….?

Something that confuses me: Ranunculus are not at all frost hardy, so if we plant them in the fall and they send up shoots, won’t frost damage to those shoots risk killing the whole plant? I am in USDA Zone 8 and everything says to plant ranunculus in the fall here, but how are they supposed to survive the winter if they are presprouted and actually start growing in the fall? I am perplexed.
@jordanbelmonte499211 ай бұрын
Yes I am also in zone 8 and trying to figure this out. Last year I put them in a cold frame outside after they pre sprouted in my garage then in spring moved from the cold frame into my garden bed. But I think I transported them into diff pots too many times, they flowered but most of the flowers were pretty small and I was lucky to get 2 blooms per corn.
@sally252110 күн бұрын
I think this lady made it way more complicated in the US zone 7-8. You can plant them in the spring or the fall they are perennials

This video has been the most helpful for dehydrating fresh flowers. I want some clarity on a few steps. How do you keep the colour fading away over time? Is there a certain coating that can be done on them? How to do you protect the flowers from any insects etc over time?

You have to wait until the flowers on the head are fully grown and out - at the perfect stage - then put into water for 24 hours then take out and dry upside down- hope that helps k
