How To Live Stream with your GoPro HERO8 and MAX

This How-To video will show you the easy steps to connect your GoPro Hero8 or GoPro Max to your phone to live stream. The process is extremely similar to a lot of older model of GoPro camera that support GoPro App connectivity.

@@TG_Shreds yeah but now it just says "something went wrong" when you click on Twitch. I want to do a IRL stream on twitch from my GoPro but the app sucks now and doesn't work. Would love to get a solution thanks

Austin! I just dove into streaming to Twitch using the newly updated GoPro Quik app and Hero9. I was able to stream to twitch for free without any subscription service. I plan on making a new video, but until I publish it, let me know what GoPro camera you are using so I can test further. I suspect the issue may be with the new update. Be sure your GoPro camera is on the latest firmware and you app is updated to the new GoPro Quik

@@austind253 I will get my Hero8 and test, but do me a favor and run through the checklist, because you sholden't be having this issue... Delete the new GoPro Quik App AND the twitch app on your device.... reinstall both and log into both... do a factory reset on your camera and start completely from scratch.

hi maybe you can help me if the gopro max is in the livestream mode i can put the camera between the other lenses or just go one while the livestream is running. thank you for your help

nixblick3r with GoPro Max you can choose what lens you want to use between front and back lens BEFORE you start streaming. You currently do not have the ability to switch between lenses while live streaming with the current firmware update/software version. That would be cool though.. @gopro #GoPro

Hi! I have question, I got HERO7. Purchased it just for stream my dj set on facebook, youtube etc. I purchased Pro 3.5mm mic adapter to get sound straight from my DJ mixer. All works perfect, even customer service from GoPro said it will not working. But where the problem, maybe you know, after 1h of streaming on any platform (youtube, facebook, twitch) it disconnect and can't connect back to wi-fi about 10min. As reason of disconnecting is poor wi-fi connection what is bull#it, because wi-fi connection is 100%. It's just not allowing to stream longer then 1.3h. My set is never shorter then 2.5h. I found a lot of topics about that, this issue, is popular when we talking about PRO7. So, can you please tell me, if you stream with PRO8, can you do it longer then 1h, it's allow you to do it? Please don't be confuse about my kind on live streaming, even if I am going live on facebook normally, without dj set, it's disconnecting after 1h. Thanks anyway

What if I wanna get audio from a different source? Like not use the built in mic? I just saw that the here8 doesn’t have a hdmi out so I can’t use it with obs.

you won't be able to change audio configuration with the setup shown. If you purchase the GoPro Media Mod then your Hero8 will have an HDMI out along with a 3.5mm audio port. If you use a Hero7, 6 5, etc... then you will have the HDMI out without needing to purchase yet another accessory.

Great question. you do not have that ability with the configuration shown using the GoPro App, but if you dive in a bit deeper and hardwire your cameras, then you can use multiple cameras. check out my new video showing the pro workflow

I just ordered a GoPro Hero 8 black I haven't received it yet. I'm hoping to live streaming well on my bike rides so my wife can watch. Great question is will the GoPro record while streaming live? I believe you said in the video that it takes up a lot of space from your phone.

Sam Cate yea you can record while live streaming.. unfortunately the GoPro needs Wi-Fi to live stream so hopefully you have a hotspot enabled device or teathering on your phone

In that clip I was using the dynamic perception motion control system but there are a range of products that will offer the same result what you were looking for is “motorized slider”

Since the MAX is a 360 degree camera does it stream 360 degree video to KZbin?

The short answer is no. There is some software out there that you may be able to hack to enable KZbin to tap into the 360 aspect of the MAX like it does for other cameras while live streaming, but until I am educated further or spend a lot of time tinkering with a hack, I believe the answer is no... You CAN however use your MAX to live stream in standard 2D 1080p

You will not be able to stream in 360 with just your GoPro Max. The short answer is NO.

@@TG_Shreds From the GoPro to the GoPro App, to KZbin is a seriously laggy loop. If you have your KZbin channel up and you're live to answer chat questions, it's at least a 10 second delay between when you say something then see your lips move on your KZbin Live video. Completely unusable.
