Hi Sunny. I have not seen your channel before and, to be perfectly honest, have very little interest in antique clocks beyond "Hey, that one looks kinda neat." But the algorithm decided that this video should grace my front page, and I don't know what possessed me to click it but I'm glad I did. I watched this video, then several others on your channel before returning here to comment. I was in your proverbial shoes just over two years ago. I see reflections of myself in many of the things you talk about in this video. Rest assured that there are many people out here who care about who you are as a person. There is something to be said for someone to be so passionate about a subject as to devote themselves to building a KZbin channel around it and also feel comfortable enough to share other parts of their life as well. Especially when these "other parts" involve blowing up your life and rebuilding it in such a profoundly new way as you are (and as I have). I understand what you mean when you say you'd rather delete the old content than keep it hanging around and letting it serve as a painful reminder. I also felt this strongly, but I have a suggestion for you. A compromise, maybe. You could set the videos you really feel strongly about to Unlisted rather than Public. This removes them from your channel, but allows those with likes and favorites to return to that video if they need to. They will still show up in your KZbin Studio, but if you can bear that then it might be a way of hiding the things that give you those feelings without removing that information from the internet at large. I wish you nothing but the best in 2025. Don't be afraid to be yourself, even when that feels like the hardest thing to do. Let that essence color everything you touch and I promise the world will show you a grace that seems almost impossible. I may be a random internet stranger, but if you ever need or want someone to talk to, I am here for you. Be well.

We are who we are today, right now because of the good and the bad (even the really bad) that got us here.. You know it's not on your shoulders to give people only content you took a long time making that makes them feel comfortable. There is a lot of good information in your material.. Isn't there an option with KZbin channels to pause your channel? like take the channel offline to the public without deleting your material. Could you pick very much your own favourite stuff? The answer might be no and that's ok Hers to a better 2025 with new starts for all.

Hi Sunny, At 1:40 you mention something that is very important about hearing the click..click..click while winding the abors. If you don't hear or feel the spring clicks engaging the ratchet, immediately STOP winding the spring. It means the click spring is weak and beginning to fail or has already failed which is a dangerous situation for both clock and the person winding the clock. Most of us know what happens next when a click spring fails. However, for those who are new to mechanical may not know this.

Hello there again, can you tell me how to August the speed of my clock? It is running about 15 minutes too fast. It is a wall clock with three key slots. Thanks
@time4clocks5 күн бұрын
@@VisualLearningDesign Hello Michael, The fast and slow on your clock is achieved by raising or lowering the pendulum bob, the big round part. Just below the bob is a nut that holds the bob in place. It's called the Rating Nut. Turning the nut in one direction will make the bob rise. Lowering the nut makes the bob descend. Raising the bob makes it swing a bit faster. Lowering the bob makes it run slower. Generally, one revolution of the rating nut means plus or minus 5 minutes. So on yours just lower the pendulum one revolution of the nut and check the time after a day or week. It is not exact. Hope that helps. Hope you have a great New Year!

I won’t tell you all my family secrets here but I can tell you this, my mothers life would make for a movie that would pull on americas heart strings. Saying “made in” legally means something specific and in the 70’s the lines were less clear. What’s really incredible is my grandfather and his partner thought up and executed on of the first national mail order business in America. From what my mother has told me, it was absolutely a family affair. I wish my Grandfather hadn’t been killed by a drunk driver, I know he would have so much to teach me and I know my mother has always missed him dearly.

i have avpd too. you gotta find a therapist you can trust or get along with and be hundred percent open about your thoughts n feelings. you should not have anything to hide in therapy. but i mean 100 percent. talk about everything that bothers you. weights on you. no matter how small. no matter how stupid. no matter how insignificant. no matter how shameful these include meta stuff about the therapist or the therapy itself. what do you like about threapy? what do you dont like? what makes you feel good or bad during it? what did you expect? what did you get? etc religion is very helpful but it can be hard to get into anything with avpd and i get that. plus i didnt get into religion to deal with my avpd. but i get tonnaof help from my religion (islam) when dealing with avpd. without islam, a proper solid idea on meaning of life, it is really hard to deal with depression and other stuff. you definitely need a proper, logically well structured ultimate goal in your life in general anyways.
@time4clocks16 күн бұрын
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. I've been going to therapy for three months and it does help, yes. Some people find religion to be useful, but I did not. I spent most of my life in religion, including Islam and all of them made my condition worse, even Islam. If religion works for you then I'm happy for you. Rejecting all religion from my life was the best thing I ever did. The judgement and shame of doing things not allowed in religion, with AvPD made everything horrible. Even the least encroachment upon something wrong made me feel like I committed a huge sin and god hates me. With AvPd amplifying feelings of rejection you can understand how that comes into play. Some people need a structured goal in life, that is fine. I thought I did too but that was because I didn't really know myself and who I am. My goal in life is to be true to myself and the inner nature I was born with and be happy. Religion meant repressing my true self, and they can argue all they want about the afterlife, but all I know is that this is my one life and I'm going to live it for me and no one else. I try to kind and compassionate to others, to treat people fairly, but I will also be true to myself.

Hi Time4Clocks I know this is an old series/video but this is going to be super helpful for a seikosha clock i plan to repair in the future! I want to do a simple clean of the seikosha clock that im going to get. So take it apart and everything. I think I have the right tools but i don’t want to take apart the spring from the spring mechanism, is cleaning the spring in depth necessary? Thanks!
@time4clocks22 күн бұрын
Hi there! The only thing necessary is how thorough you want to be. You can clean a spring while it is still attached to the wheel. It would be better than nothing. The main point is that built up solidified oil needs to be removed so the coils slip against each other nicely after lubricating. If you can accomplish that then that's all you need. 😸
@R0blox_sTories22 күн бұрын
@ great! Thanks for the reply. Could I do that with the spring clamp on?
@time4clocks22 күн бұрын
@R0blox_sTories I would not advise that. What you could do is put on the clamps, remove all the gears, then just put the springs on their wheels back in, put the movement plate on, remove the clamps and let the springs fully expand. Then you can either clean them attached to the movement or remove the movement plate and take the springs with their wheels out. After cleaning and lubricating you can put the springs back in the movement by themselves, wind them up, put the clamps on, then take them out again, setting them aside for later reassembly of the whole thing. 😁

Great job. For heavily tarnished and crudded up bezels and such, I like to use NOXON 7 Metal Polish while using a wooden craft stick for those really stubborn spots. This is then followed with a wipe down with a shop towel dipped in a water and baking soda solution. I use Simichrome for the final polish to give the bezel that "POP". Of course the brass will eventually tarnish unless it is sprayed with lacquer. However, your dial pan wasn't that bad. So, using Simichrome was the right decision.
