Nice loco, I have the Flying Scotsman from the same ilk though I'm not a big fan of the Hornby tender drive so I striped out the motor and changed the loco chassis to a motor drive.
@AdiPullen3 күн бұрын
Hi Robin I hope you are well Yes i dont blame you for moving the motor Sorry for the bad review It was recorded over 2 years. I was trying to be like Sam's trains Yes am not a fan of tender driven loco This loco has now sold Thank you for the kind words and watching and commenting Keep safe ARP

One can never own too many A3s. Or A4s. I want to get hold of Papyrus, which, of course, is another famous record holder.
@AdiPullen3 күн бұрын
Hi Stephen I hope you are well Is that model easy to get hold of? Keep safe ARP
@stephendavies69493 күн бұрын
@AdiPullen Not sure. I seem to recall seeing one a while ago, before I decided I really wanted one, but not recently. If push comes to shove, I'll buy a recent version of an alternatively named A3 & get it professionally re-numbered. Or if it's an older model, I'll do it myself. My favourite A3 used to be the Express Blue livered Prince Palatine, but now it's my wartime black Lemberg. Mind you, I do have a soft spot for my A1 FS, as that was the configuration it was in when it broke the 100mph barrier.

Great review. Lovely locomotive. I don't mind the Ringfield tender drive as they are easily serviced and repaired. They will be running for years to come. I have R 059 Pretty Polly which has the smoke deflectors which is also tender driven. Enjoyed watching. Regards Paul.

Hi Adi, many thanks for your interesting review on this Hornby A3. I have no objection to tender drive as they work very well, some might say that it is nice to see some wheel spin on the drivers. I think that you paid a good price for this set, why didn’t you run it with coaches ? Just curious as you don’t often see A3’s hauling goods wagons. All the best to you, regards from Ron 🚂👍😃✔️🚂

Hi Ron I hope you are well If am honest am a fan of tender driven loco. They not as bad as split chassis locos. As for the review this was recorded a long time ago I was try to be like Sam's trains but it not me. And ive since sold the loco Sorry for everything Keep safe ARP
@RonCooper-nl4pn3 күн бұрын
@ Hi Adi, thanks for your reply, I think that the split chassis system is terrible. So much so that I have even gone to the trouble to make my own chassis from strips of Brass, I also had to purchase Romford Wheels to complete it. The model still works well today. Regards from Ron. 🚂👍
