I'm ashamed to share a name with this cheater. Not because of the cheating, but because he picked Civ 6 over Civ 5.

I like how aspects of the multiplayer meta is more historically accurate. Irl early civilizations mostly expanded and built markets, not libraries lol

If I may be honest, a decent number of these "ridiculous" plays aren't nearly as bad as they look. For example, shadowing an enemy scout could actually prove viable if you deviate slightly from their path, based on you knowing how *other* competitive players act, and thus can exploit the weakness of predictability. Furthermore, that mountain range prior didn't look "impassable" at a glance; it looked like it could have been crossed and could theoretically have been worth investigating (the time waste for it would have been minor enough to recuperate the losses of a risky maneuver). There are definitely ample examples to prove the guy cheated, that's for sure, such as how this guy just routinely never has mistakes whatsoever; what is also for sure is that you're hyperbolizing in a way that, dare I say it, shows a general lack of strategy. Or, at the very least, can be manipulative to viewers who might not know better. I understand you're a moderator for this competitive scene, but that does not automatically make you a herald of ecumene in this regard. Sitting there saying something is "absolutely absurd" or "ridiculous" or "incompetent" when some of these aren't as bad as you make them out to be is pretty weird, honestly, and sounds like you're some posh English noble looking at peasants. For example, I did say it was good to exploit another player's predictability if the competitive scene loves to go rank and file into the same heuristics. However, to do that time and time again and never falter *is* suspect, as those kinds of plays take a lot of refinement and do require at least *SOME* adherence to the norm to evade your own counter-predictability of "I'm just the opposite of the meta". There's a reason "anti-metas" are uncommon. I simply believe that looking at someone's singular scout moves one at a time and going "that's absurd!' over them making a decision that could easily have been reversed due to random-generative fuckery is... strange. Forgot to add this but, I'm not entirely bashing your video. It was very informative in regards to scouting procedure, and well-structured. I am simply stating that you should probably cut down on hyperbole. Also... a competitive scene for a multiplayer strategy game with a focus on diplomacy not allowing many forms of trade is fucking wild, since that basically prohibits a good amount of psychological tactics or strongarming you can do to force people into losing.

Casual single player player here, wow I learned so much. Ngl I never get more than one scout and always set it to auto explore and forget about it. I know I am a noob, bfeeI feel like I am about to get 10x better with my scouting. Though I also may try the cheating in a bot match where I don't want to try so hard lol.

Ah yes, Firaxes doesn't like every try-hard minmaxxing everything all the time, so they make the game harder for noobs and still leave it gameable by the super-nerds. Well done, very balanced, I'm sure this will improve your standing in the community at large...

Man, I've been on a binge in this playlist. Never played Civ6 nor I intent to, I stopped at 5 when I was in high school. Used Potato as background noise to fall asleep for past month, now I won't be able to cause you showed just how little he knows 😆However, even if I were to play Civ6, you guys went too far into "fair competitiveness over simulation with some RNG". More balancing, sure, amenities thing, great, playing for 2nd, also great. But then this is illegal, then that is illegal, then this other thing is illegal. At some point you're literally just making a highly complex chess and there's zero "This feels like simulation of nations fighting" appeal. Probably just a me issue, after all I didn't even play Civ6 singleplayer, but I could never boil down a 4X game to such extent in effort to always have a better player win. And then I'll still proceed to watch meta gameplay about a multiplayer that's accessible for 1% of player population for a game I never nor will I ever play. 👍

After watching many of your videos, I start to think that it's not the civs that are underrated, but the player that is overpowered. Next BBG mod should try to arrange that ^^'

As is common, cheaters chasing an edge in efficiency are given away by their illogically high efficiency. You'd think competitive cheaters, knowing they'll be scrutinized more closely, would at least mix things up: Throw in some high risk moves that fail but have minimal punishment; Make moves that are less than optimal; Ensure a minimum percentage of your moves are normal. You know you're going to be fishy. You should know you're going to have to sell off your cheating as making gambles.

14:25 - 15:25 This is truly the most damning. Even a casual like me can tell how absurdly stupid that move is. If this was a one off, I could write it off as a misclick. But multiple, consistent stupid decisions, repeated over multiple games? Hah.

For patreon members, it'd be nice if you could give game saves and seeds or something for civreplay. A lot of the time I wish I could load up and check "Did he get market before settler here?" Or "Does he place 2nd district before settler?" Or "How many IZs did he build?"
@emill48642 күн бұрын
Hey Herson, big fan of the content. Probably a noob question, but why don't you buy Stock Exchanges in all eligible cities when you have that much gold? Is the payoff time not good enough? To my untrained eyes, it seems like extra great Merchant points and more GPT wouldn't hurt. Just curious and eager to understand more about the game!

Personally speaking, production and civic/tech saving go against the spirit of the game and they make the game less fun so I don't do them. The production order of things has always been frustrating to me, randomly losing builder charges because a city built something else. I also hate the way they killed production overflow. I would have preferred an actual option to save overflow rather than leaving cities blank.

The synergy with your city states and luxes is unreal. Not only do the 3 amenity city states let you settle a ton of cities while keeping happiness break points but valleta lets you use faith from religious idols to instantly bring cities online by buying granaries and water mills. No wonder you went so heavily into faith with a civ that otherwise has little use for religious play in a lobby with 2 religious civs.

1:17 Another notable effect of research step coming before production step in turn rollover is "the undesirable production upgrade effect" : if, say, you're producing a Slinger and it's due to finish the turn you research Archery, the slinger production will turn into Archer production before the production is actually added - and, because the archer costs more than the slinger, the archer might actually not complete. So it says your slinger is due next turn but then after you click end turn you're still 1 turn away from producing a (now archer) unit.
