I've known this song most all my life. Me, a dopey white boy growing up in the deep south in the Seventies . I even know the reggae covers - one by Winston Curtis & a fantastic dub version by Bunny Rugs. And I always knew it was William DeVaughn's "Be Thankful for What You Got." WTF is wrong with people these days?

To Be Honest .... The Beatles IS THE STANDARD ..... if you rip someone off and change the Temp, add horns, ripping hit guitar and vocal group power ..... it's another song .... not comparable ! If you want to say "better" .... well Then INCLUDE the version of LEONID & FRIENDS and the uptempo version IS WAY BETTER than EW&F !!! Just saying. GBjj

As a 60-year-old music lover of soul music and still listen to it more than contemporary music I can honestly say I don't know of and never met one person who thought Curtis Mayfield wrote this song. Probably just some misinformed person mislabeled it way back during music upload sites such as Napster or many more that followed or even on KZbin and unaware people rolled with it thinking that but never heard this before that Curtis Mayfield sang this song.😅

when Mr Morale dropped its been a few years since i listened to TPAB, when that song game on when i was giving the whole album a listen (i stayed up till midnight) my first thought was the song (Mortal Man) after making it to "Savior", when he quotes "2pacs dead gotta think for yourself", Change comes from within, nobodies gonna help you you gotta do it yourself. because at the end of the story pac is silent meaning he's no longer there and Kendrick specifically states "Only hope that we kinda have left is music and vibrations A lot of people don't understand how important it is" the whole analogy of the butterfly's life comes to an end, in the end cycle of a butterflies lifecycle, butterflies lay eggs and they die shortly after, Everyone is a caterpillar, meaning everyone has a butterfly inside of them" the egg or as some people say "plant seeds for the future generations to grow" pac interview influences kendricks pen pac laid his eggs (planted seeds) when he died and his wisdom in interviews and writings/music which were left behind in "music and vibrations" for future generations. pac died 1996, kendrick was born in 1987 meaning kdot was 9 years old.

Why these record labels & publishing holders aren’t throwing song usage rights at you to promote music that hasn’t made an impact in a while is beyond me. Do they not realize that every show you play a song & 99.9% of us go & play the song to compare to your documentation?

Whether AI-generated music is copyright-free depends on several factors. Often, the music is based on existing, copyrighted datasets. If the AI music is derived from these, legal issues can arise. Additionally, the copyright status varies by country and is still a topic of debate. Some AI tools explicitly state that their generated music is copyright-free and offer licenses for free use. It's important to always check the terms of use of the AI tool. In short, AI-generated music is not automatically copyright-free; always check the source and licensing terms.
