It always amazes me when people get pissed off about creators making patreons like they are selling out or doing something nefarious. This shit ain't free and unless you monetize it just like literally every other media in existence, you will go broke especially for those who want to make this their main career choice. Obviously, there is a responsibility to keep making things when people pay you money, but anyone who has watched this channel can clearly see the constant creativity and pushing boundaries. There are some Patreon channels that do the bare minimum or even rip people off which this channel is nowhere close to doing. Keep it up man. Love the channel and it's an inspiration for where I want to take mine in the future.

This is the dopest platform for exploring music if you're a middle aged dude who grew up in the wake of the soul era and grew up around hip hop. With good marketing and bigger budget this is gonna be a proper classic not the hidden gem that it currently is relative to the value and quality of the content.

I don't think you need to do more from a fan of your channel standpoint. Your studio and what you do is part of what makes it work so well. Of course you and your talent and knowledge are the main part but if you want to expand (not just feeling like you need to) we are here for it. Love your channel!

The algorithm does t hide your content. (I got people at YT) You will show your content to the people who interact with it. Watching is good, commenting means you’ll never miss a beat (sorry bad pun). KZbin makes money selling ads they will show all the content when it is good which yours is. When people go down various rabbit holes the algorithm will take them there. It’s so smart it know your phone vs computer vs TV or set top joint like AppleTV. KZbin knows I’m an old head with a normal human attention span on my tv so I alway get your video there. If I’m at my desk I get music and long form talks and occasionally you if I’m watching :20 or :30mins joints. I also have you as a stream deck button so I can get fed what you cook. As a creator we gotta teach people who to eat when we cook. They will side track and the algorithm will feed based on their lil snack strolls elsewhere. That said I’m joining the Patreon squad just to show some Aloha. I get no ad on YT because why no premium in 2025 is beyond me 😂 Appreciate you B. Mahalo 🤙🏽

I watch you and Beato. While definitely not the same you guys fundamentally overlap (especially on the what make this song great angles). I’m down with your R&B and hip hop flavor. As someone who watches a lot of music YTers this channel is so much better (more consistently high quality) than Beato’s (Beato is great when he is doing interviews or is doing his “What makes this song great” series, but everything else is just him pumping out videos to feed the algorithm several times a week (his playing the algorithm this way is why he has so many subscribers, because YT is constantly pushing his channel because there’s so much content there to push and it doesn’t matter if only 10% of it is really high quality) and that’s also why he’s losing subscribers (speaking as someone who has debated unsubscribing, but I do want to still watch when he has a good interviews). Without going into detail, if you like this channel, but your taste in music aligns more with Beato, you’d probably really like channels like 12tone and Polyphonic, both of whom I put way ahead of Beato because they, like DTG, only publish new videos about once a week and actually (also like DTG) put in the effort to make sure their work is really high quality. This doesn’t play the algorithm like what Beato does, so those channels, much like this one, don’t have near Beato’s subscriber base. Essentially, to do the best possible work takes time, but YT is built to reward quantity of content (especially the frequency of new content) over quality. The quality is worth digging for though.
