Does it make sense to try and buy there if you're an expat?

There are lot of condo options which foreigners choose to purchase and reside themselves. Of course doubling as a passive income generating property as well. Lots of owners deciding to live off and on throughout the year and manage via Airbnb when they are not in town. Of course everyone has a different investment profile and it may not be for everyone

Hi Austin, another great video, thank you... can you please advise on soundproofing in regard to units. What is the situation with thin walls and noisy neighbors?
@CentralVietnamRealty
@CentralVietnamRealty 3 күн бұрын
Thanks for the comment Kerry - it really depends on the building! Most international condo towers have double paned windows to prevent exterior noise as well as decently thick walls to prevent neighbor noise. If looking into more locally build apartment options, these extra precautions were likely not considered during the design and construction period

There is zero chance that DaNang has any advantages over the US…except cost. If you have money in the US you would not even consider moving there. The medical care is suspect and the language barrier is something to consider.
@CentralVietnamRealty
@CentralVietnamRealty Ай бұрын
Everyone has a different opinion on the matter! Many people are looking to leave the US for a multitude of reasons - politics, safety concerns due to violent crime, affordability of healthcare, etc
@DWilliam1
@DWilliam1 Ай бұрын
@@CentralVietnamRealty I guess if you dislike democracy and like living in a communist, one party system with substandard healthcare it might be for you. Crime depends in where you are in both countries, where the US might be higher in violent crime but other crimes are higher in Vietnam…if you believe the government’s numbers. I’m 60 and never experienced any crimes and I’m from NY.

There should be information about how to maintain a visa. If you have to leave the country every 90 days, that adds to your cost. Most of these people sam to be working in Vietnam, but about retired people? They would probably be on a tourist visa.
@CentralVietnamRealty

At the moment there is no retirement visa unfortunately, though this is subject to change. Every country has different visa requirements and the costs and procedures are not uniform for all. I have lived in Da Nang for 2 years waiting for my wife's Visa. Move here for a month before you make the leap. The sanitary conditions are not there, it is very crowded, the market streets are simple food in boxes, at 2:00 AM in November it is 80 Degrees Fahrenheit and the ocean waterer is far from clean. The pros: almost everyone is nice to you, the pharmacies do not need prescriptions for basic medicines, it is vey beautiful.

@@CentralVietnamRealty Agreed. I move home to Hawaii in 4 months and the 10 degree drop in temperature makes a huge difference to me and I own my newer home outright and pay$200 a year in property tax and get $98 a year in tax refund because I am retired so I can afford to live there easily on my retirement (even if SSA drops in 10 years). But that is my situation which makes it good for me. I have been to 29 countries and lived in 5 and all have pros and cons but they are an individual thing.. Thank you for your response.
