~ Birbalsingh schooling is fine for normal children who want to learn academia. This type of schooling for the child who is an artist or sensitive in nature warps their outcome and delays their genius. We don't all fit in an egg carton. Unlearning or unschooling is best for the child that is their own.

Being "somewhere in the economic left and the cultural right" is such a typical female thing to say. You know what adults call that? Wanting all the privileges and none of the responsibility. The way she talks about the playboy guy, as if he was a predator of some sort. Maximizing every rhetorical resource to paint a picture that removes every single drop of agency, willingness and ownership from the women involved, yeah that's what society needs. Let's demonize an entire group of sexually liberal men to reinstate something most women don't even want. She talks as if there weren't statistics dating back to the early 1900s that demonstrate women were extremely unhappy with that societal arrangement. She speaks about the sacredness of marriage as if we weren't living in Postmodern times, precisely characterized by the loss of hegemony all these great narratives had over society. As if even before the beginning of the 1900s one of the most relevant intellectuals in Western history hadn't already observed that "God is dead". She speaks as if most Christian sects hadn't already lost their own identity, by admission of thousands of religious leaders themselves. Ever since I was a kid I've been hearing about this revival that is promised in the Bible, only to see plenty of failed attempts. I have been in front of pastors saying that even if God wasn't real, they wouldn't stop believing ever. She terribly underestimates the times we live in. If she only took the time listen to MRAs, she would save herself all this time pretending society could create incentives for women to return to perpetual monogamy. Does she even understand hypergamy? As a woman, is she even aware of how much women dislike sleeping with men they don't genuinely desire?? This is the pivotal topic on all of this. Women's choices are: (1) going for the relative high status males in their circles, (2) staying single or (3) settling down with men they don't desire aka not-high-enough-status men. You can listen to William Costello on these last types of relationships, because guess what happens when the status dynamic is inverted: women cheat more and men become more defensive of their relationships. You have to understand Louise is making a moral argument that relies on making a sales pitch to women about their safety, fulfillment and whatever else, while absolutely covering up the FACT that for perpetual monogamy to be the norm, you will need: 1. The suppression of female hypergamous mate selection. 2. The enforcement of marriages where women are bound for life with men they do not desire. Her argument is what happens when you cherry pick data between two conflicting fields of research on human societies: Evolutionary Psychology and All the social constructionist fields. It does not work because it is plagued with incongruencies. Blonde thinks men should be okay with a life of involuntary celibacy without experience any deterioration to their mental health and becoming disenfranchised criminals. I can't blame her since Louise absolutely glosses over the reasons societies with extreme unequal sexual distribution are that violent. What an obnoxious gynocentric view. Every time women complain about men not understanding their experience, share this link with them. Women aren't only ignorant to the male experience, they already hate it anyways.

Interesting "Christianity is well documented" indeed so. Is the gospel narrative and the actual personage of Jesus well documented? Is it necessary that one has to believe that it is "Actual" and fully "Factual"? I wonder.

Sometimes it may feel 'cozy' inside yourself, to want the tradition and homogeneity of a Christian hegemony. But never forget the same problems that plague secular 'isms', are several levels of torment worse when people are filled, with 'unchallenged' religious conviction. It has been quite a while now... since Christianity, was declawed in the West. That cozy feeling of a return, might arouse warm nostalgic emotions in you. But humans 'blessed from above' ...ordained with, supreme power here on earth... is a recipe, for a return to the darkest of dark ages and a violent reign, of death and righteous inhumanity. Use it personally if you must, but don't wish for it to control your society. Let Christianity sleep... and only in your dreams let it breathe. Only there, wish it were a pure panacea and not the reality, ...of being just another incredibly dangerous weapon. To be so easily wielded by charismatic, yet extremely dangerous people.

Yes, he exposed her on various topics but it was above all really sad to see her far left ideological high minded judgment of him, his thinking, his book and even his diet. That constant judgement is wrecking society, not saving it. And her own ideology has backfired in the TERF debacle. Can’t please everyone all the time and upping the societal temperature with these cancel culture arguments only pushes us all closer to cliff edge. It’s not funny. It’s disastrous

On the abortion issue and how evangelicals respond to the issue of women seeking/wanting an abortion. How should we respond to someone who says I want to kill my child, is that Ok with you? Imagine someone says my 4 year old is driving me nuts and I am going to kill my child, is that OK with you? Would we express compassion and connection with someone who commits premeditated murder? I would like a dialogue on this issue, to me it is that B&W?

@@thewrightoknow When I have seen someone respond "Please educate me," I have been around long enough to know to doubt the genuineness of the request. But I will respond, briefly, without offering follow-ups, to one thing you've written: "Would we express compassion and connection with someone who commits premeditated murder?" I have. I have been doing so since 2007 when I've begun regularly visiting prisons and jails. And I do believe that we are, in fact, called to do so when in Matthew 25, Christ tells us to visit the prisoners, and that by doing so, we are found to be of the kingdom of God. In context, visiting the prisoner is not just to say hello. At the time, it meant bringing the prisoner food, water, the necessities of life, to keep the prisoner alive, to show the prisoner that his or her life is precious. I am not naive. When a man has told me that his sentence is life plus a hundred years, I know why he's in the prison. Whoever were his victims, they are lost to us, their precious lives, but we also have the person before me. Yes, Christ wants the effort to reach him, and not many people try. If you are serious about learning (I doubt it), then how about trying something I think Dr. Prior implicit recommends here. I'd like for you to read a novel that many people who have read it have enjoyed: Please read Fyodor Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment. See if you can come through reading that without thinking that perhaps even in the killer, there is a life requiring our consideration. Have I ever known of a woman who has killed her child? As a matter of fact, yes. The online social media response was calling for her execution without trial. I can say that if she was found guilty, she has to go to prison. Then what? You need an answer for this in a way that isn't limited to a cultural answer. I am, with this reply, questioning the premises of your first response to Dr. Prior. Wrestle for yourself with the question of what mercy should be for a woman facing an abortion. I can tell you that I won't credit an answer that would not literally help in the literal way that Matthew 25 requires.

@@drunkenpolitician1 Thanks for your response to my question. I have not heard of a False Parallel before. I think we should have compassion on someone in prison who committed pre meditated murder. I am for the death penalty. But if a person has not been given the death penalty every care should be taken that they be treated with dignity in a prison that is safe, non violent and counselling , etc... I think abortion is murder, but if a women has had an abortion, every care should be given to her and not abusive words and judgements. Everyone is created in the image of God. Can evangelicalism free itself from the transactional Christ, whose death saves us from our sin and consequent damnation (but only if we so believe), which would also entail freedom from biblical literalism (given that certain biblical passages support the transactional Christ)? IMHO, such religious overbeliefs, to borrow William James' wonderful word, are dead in the water of Western civilization; indeed, seem to most, even most theists, as not only false but silly. Ironically, the only form of Protestantism that might have a future would seem to be the old liberal, free-thinking mainline church, focused on following the teachings--the model--of the historical Jesus as an avenue toward God--a form of faith which nourished me so deeply and beautifully yet died during my lifetime for largely cultural reasons...only to rise again? The key is recognizing the Bible as human words, however inspired, about God, as opposed to God's words directly spoken to humans.

Ultimately, we have to answer the same question Jesus asked Peter: "Who do you say that I am?" If Jesus is who he said He was, then He did, in fact, rise from the dead and what He said about Himself is trustworthy. “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." Jesus specifically uses the Greek article for "the"--not A way, or ONE way. Again, if Jesus is who he said he was, then the Bible is itself trustworthy. Would the One who upholds creation be unable to guard the truth of His word against corruption as Muslims claim? 2 Timothy 3:16 states, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness". This verse is the only place in the Bible that uses the Greek word theopneustos, which means "God-breathed, inspired by God, due to the inspiration of God". Both liberal mainline protestants and many contemporary evangelicals have been captured by the culture. The problem I have with many "mainliners" is that they have fallen into apostasy believing the Bible is inspired in spots and they are inspired to pick out the spots. The problem is, as Jeremiah states it, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?" The problem I have with many evangelical churches is that they have become untethered from historic Christianity. That's another long discussion. Jesus, unlike all other major moral teachers in history, didn’t come to bring good advice as much as he came to bring good news (which, from that foundation, comes the greatest advice). HE is the good news. And instead of telling us “what to do to be saved”, he tells us “it has been done”, now trust and believe. Jesus never bids us to come and follow a formula; He bids us to follow Himself.

This is such a good episode, thank you. About 27 minutes in the question is asked about the actual reality of the resurrection. If we take 'as above, so below' seriously, we have our inner, emotional aspect we can feel, we have the outer, active physical presence, and we have the actions and the wake of those actions in reality. We are raised with attention focused on our needs and wants, maturity inverts that habit of attention to a selfless mindset (that's the idea anyway). So one can take just the symbols of a former way of selfish thinking being transmuted through love and exposure to reality into a more loving, service centered mindset. But if we consider trust and larger patterns of reality, it is no leap to trust that the reality of the human journey was manifested to us as a mirror to be held up. Just get on that level is what I'm saying guys. Love you!
