If she told the real truth she would not be a sympathetic person. In that kind of society I am afraid you have to get your hands dirty.

What would their lives look like without US sanctions ? Without having been made into a pariah state ? This is what I always ask myself. I hope NK sanctions are lifted soon, I am sure this country will know economic prosperity we couldn't imagine.

The Korean language teacher that was singing with the kids in their room seemed so nice and enthusiastic and caring about the kids. I wish I had a teach like that when I was their age.

I believe she is a part of Elite NK families who were able to go out of NK. These are not people who were poor. Clearly, only the wealthy can pay their way out... but they're not really the "wealthy". According to their appearance, I would say this family is a part of a military family and their father was either put to death and they were excommunicated, or their father and family are also military and their father is still alive... or maybe, they are holding him for collateral... or who knows... maybe he really did die. I do believe it to be strange these defectors no longer come out toothless, emaciated, or sick, even... nor poor with ragged clothing... nor malnourished like most NK... if the females are 5 ft and over, they're definitely not among the "poor" or "needy" in NK... perhaps, they all were told stories and were told to be strict about them... either way, I do find it to be strange how the elite looking ones seem to escape, but never anyone who seems deprived anymore. Nor covered in scars... weird... I noticed that even a military defector came out unscathed. I don't understand defectors coming out unscathed now... usually, these victims had harrowing scars that told about the horrors of NK. Not everyone may have physical scars, but I remember years ago, most of them did.

The NED is a front organization for the US state department they give DPRK defectors a small lump sum to get them to tell their stories and condemn the DPRK on ROK television, the more entertaining the story the more the NED pays the defectors so the US state department is directly indirectly economically insentivising ridiculous information about the DPRK which belittles the real stories of terrible things people have suffered in the DPRK.

In fairness the entire episode (and the one before) is swarming with comic situations like this. And they were mostly tied to home and family issues. So they fit for this format perfectly. I wasn't able to find the link but I used to see a sitcom recap of "Together we are poison" scene from BCS. It just doesn't compute.

She uses the number three a lot too. I think that helps her to remember her lies at 3 AM. She supposedly buried her father. She had three sisters just watch you will see.

Has anybody here actually read her first book? Her story is complicated and I think you're getting things confused if you're only watching interviews instead of reading the whole story. The two instances of her and her sister needing care were separate instances that she talks about in her book.

In looking this up I cant help but notice she has a different nose in several videos. Sometimes it points up... sometimes it points down. For someone so poor she couldnt eat she has shown up with a lot of cosmetic work. And before she got famous she had already had work done.
