I know the tuners are categorized specifically for each headstock type, but do you think these would work on an inline 6 headstock? Such as a jazzmaster or telecaster?
@BaritoneGoatStudio

@@Callsign_Kishin they do make these for 6 in line headstocks. The main question is what configuration you have in terms of screws and post holes. These won’t fit vintage style 8mm hole tuners. The type with unthreaded collars. They do also make these in a 2-pin fender style design. But they are modern 10mm post a with threaded collars. www.guyker.com/products/guyker-gk-new-434sp-tuning-machines-for-fender-st-guitar?ref=BTGSTUDIO

It can. Especially if the boost is a a clean boost without a clipping circuit. ODs tend to be less “loud” in how they amplify the signal. I use a DI box in front of my interface to par levels of need be. Sometimes the DA conversion shows input clipping on the interface, but the digital input isn’t clipping. Hi Z inputs on interfaces can be wildly variable, so I always recommend having a DI box to run the signal into the XLR if possible.

I get a little more of a noise floor if I use the brightest setting. Almost any drive pedal I get more hiss when the tone is up, but I have also been noticing the level of noise changes with different power sources and which pedal I stack in front of it. Buffered pedals seem to add some noise and I try to keep them at the end of my chain. This pedal isn’t as noisy as my fortin Blade, but it is a little more noisy than the SD-1 or TS9.

So pricing it out... if you're for high gain tones... Just grt the Josh Middleton suite as it is only $150 off sale. You own 3amps, pedals and effects and cabs. With amp hub outright with even just 3 amps you already are paying far more than what the Tonality suite offers. I honestly think 2 different marketing departments are pricing things because amphub is a scam in comparison

Very nice mods! 👍 I am glad you kept the stock pickguard; the white ply stands out and provides continuity to the neck binding. 😉 What gauge strings does Firefly ship the guitar with? Did you replace them? If you didn't, what would you go with for Drop G#/A?
@BaritoneGoatStudio
@BaritoneGoatStudio 8 күн бұрын
From what I can tell, the strings it came with were 13-62 daddarios. They had colored ball ends and a wound 3rd string. The low string was at least a .062 gauge. And I think the light baritone set from Daddario (13-62) is perfect for drop G# or A. To go A standard or lower you may need to try the medium baritone set (14-68). I am considering trying drop G with a set of string joys that have a .064 gauge which might work.

I'm in the middle of upgrading the Buckethead Barritone Firefly. I pulled all the hardware and electronics, revealing massive holes through the body from where the crappy kill switches were. I think I'm going to use washers for all the pots and three-way just so it all matches. I ordered Duncan Nazguls, and I installed a set of D'Addario auto trimming locking tuners. I still need pots and a harness. The project is on hold as I enjoy my brand new Framus Teambuilt Devin Townsend Signature Stormbender....

Every clip sounds better without. I ran the gain boost with my 81 years ago and it was the same. The only exception was when I played thru a 2204 modded of course but still 3 stage at the time. @@dalepiwek it did seem to just be over the top, even when trying to temper the gain on the amp. More I talk to people who have tried it, the consensus is that it works best with a lower resistance pickup. There is something inherently unique and appealing about the Invader through a high gain amp that no other pickup can replicate or come close to. Most metal pickups try to sound the same: tight, upper mid bite, heavy but focused lows… but the Invader doesn’t apply any of these rules and to me that makes it more appealing because metal guitarists seem to often forget that the goal shouldn’t be to sound perfect, it should be to find their own tone that compliments their playing. As a listener, I don’t care how well I can hear every pick stroke, the drums should be emphasizing the rythmic of the guitar. you shouldve done bends up high to see how the tone changes as the string passes between polepiece fields vs staying even over the rail. i much prefer the polepiece sound. separate magnets dead on under each string seems to translate to better string separation and more volume with the given output. the rail has an evenness and cleanness the polepieces lack. it sounds like a more cohesive instrument. maybe tweaking screws could get the same effect on the original, then youd really have a pickup
