I think it will be helpful to include what it means when the maid offers “ turn down your bed “ in the hotel cause I doubt non native English speaker really understand what the maid is talking about.

Your title is misleading ! There’s nothing wrong with using “ drink” when one is literally drinking coffee . It’s just that other ways are used depending on the context .
